wmo question (3 comments)
Posted by LOLatRoflexTimers @ 17:43 CDT, 20 October 2025 - iMsg
Does anyone know if the WMO has a JST connector on the PCB for the cable or are the cables soldered in there? I would like to do the paracord mod but if it's not a matter of switching the cable and you have to solder it then I'll have to find someone skilled that knows how to do it. I have heard some models have the cable soldered permanently and others have a JST connector but isn't clear.

Any thoughts on the Logitech Superlight 2? (No comments)

Im still trying to find a WMO replacement. As much as I like the mouse, I would like side buttons for browsing, and buying them you never know if they are legit. I saw this one looks quite similar at least on paper according to eloshapes. Did anyone here try it by any chance? I only trust people that play Quake to judge a mouse anyway.

Some solid games in 250fps, but where is cooller? (27 comments)

Some interesting games in this tournament, good coverage, this looks promising. Finals tomorrow btw

Clearly people enjoy this more than QC. I heard even Rapha may show up. The question is of course, where is cooller? As a competitive person, if they keep delivering a decent tournament, and specially starved of any international tournaments due the "special operation", this sounds like a nice motivation to get your ass training again and show up, but im still yet to know any news about him. At this rate, unk1nd may join before he does.

Depending on how many ppl say yes, we are going to organzie a league or cup (depends on how many teams would afterwards sign up)

Im never home long enough to play in competitions.

How about a draft? It's been a while and steamrolling with team maestro was fun.

Voted yes anyway, and I'm open to any team that can use the bolus.

love it how people who don't even play quake take their time to vote no :)

edit: as i said on irc channel, i'd prefer if it were a draft league. that way you don't have to care about having enough teams per division and what not, and basically would guarantee more activity.

Do you think a long lasting league would work without coutnless WOs, in quake's current state? idk, maybe just a one day cup would work better.

Well ppl say draft now, but if they end up in a team with someone they don't like or think their team isn't strong enough, ppl will quit.

If there wont be enough ppl for a regular league, why bother trying to start a nationscup?
And what if this vote ends with a positive score, doesn't mean we will get enough teams anyway. As far as I can see, right now you would gather about 2 Div 1 teams and maybe 3 or 4 Div 2 teams

that's why I suggested a draft. You don't have to worry about divisions or anything. All teams can play same div.

like i said earlier, this will end up in a lot of whine

Better some whines than a league between 2-3 teams or a nationscup between 3 nations.
I played 4 drafts and it was always fun, even when we got rekt by winz's team.

I would like to see more regular one-day-cups, be it drafts or be it team-tournaments.

Reasoning: Admins in hoq/cb/ba are working their asses off trying to reach each team or even member to get games played while those are procrastinating. Clans drop out cause they lose 1 single game or map pool isn't liked or 100 different crappy reasons. Some teams have 8+ players on their roster but take a wildcard as soon as they can't use their top lineup. Lot of activity is promised but not really held.

One-day cups could boost popularity/hype by ESR-news posts and communication in other channels like irc or ql forums. There's no need to use 8 players for a roster anymore and more teams could be featured - especially with a less conservative ruleset like alternative mappools, different tourney layout (Swiss system bo1 for example).

there's hardly anyone left playing pickups, don't think he should bother with that and just sign up if something happens.
