my guess is that what we'll see is current esr admins moving over to +f, because of ease of use & active development, then, without caring admins, esr will begin to stagnate content-wise, which will force leftover users to migrate to +f.

I voted for Plus Forward, but will actually start using it only when noctis fixes the main problems (lack of anonymous posting; crap front page that has no content and only huge pictures taking whole screen on low res; necessity to click forward/back through million of pages to get anywhere, opposed to ESR's sideboxes immediately showing what's new and interesting; showing everything in UTC and not allowing timezone selection for anonymous users).

Plus Forward's killer feature for me is the events/results section, something that was always on ESR's wishlist but never materialized.

But for that section to survive, the site needs more active users, which it won't get until it becomes more geek-friendly.

I'm happy to report, anonymous users can switch timezones, change theme to dark and remove the huge top page images, and there's main page activity sidebox, too!

Never heard of these sites but just had a look now, wow such terrible design, like someone just vomited up a bunch of images, pretty fonts and transparency and called it a day.

ESR still has the best comment system I've seen, but even ignoring that, I can come to the ESR front page, the news articles are clear, and it's easy to find other sections down the side, you basically need to just scroll/click once to do anything.

Looking more around the site it looks like +F has used esr a lot for inspiration, and actual content organisation isn't terrible, but the design is still super ugly, not enjoyable to read.

I actually find +fwd very aesthetic. Looks like a modernized ESR.

Based on how irrelevant FPS Pulse ended up being, I think it'd be better that from now on people try to support ESR instead of creating their own projects. For example a 'events' bar would be quite nice.

For a front page, www.phgp.tv looks the best of all these new sites. But I still prefer esr with its buttloads of links pointing to stuff on the entire site and its full display of news post.

I was using this site when it used to be Shugs house of demos (or was it Shubs?) then it was XSReality and then ESReality. Hell, I used to be admin on here around 12-16 years ago :D This has been an amazing site over the years. It was so much better back in the day when it was much, much faster moving and used to cover large events from the actual event. ESReality has been a very entertaining, helpful and useful site for me. Big up Sujoy and all the ESR staff over the many years it's been running! :)

People visit ESR because it's a game where you have to act a role or watch the spectacle acted by others, and it's fun. People don't want sterilized news or articles, they want to play in a big virtual world with atmosphere, traditions and famous characters. To make people live on your site, you have to offer them a world to live in.

That's why +forward in its current state is just a database and will never have any people around it.
