How about the viewership and marketing part of this? $1 million tournament had like 10k viewers? That sounds like a failure to me. It didn't seem to get much attention at all, although I did see a pcgamer article afterwards.

it was like if you were not there you did not exist, although money they made were thanks to the ones who never attended
