Do you remember that project of a Quake 3 frag movie featuring the one and only China RazerJ? If yes, you must either be noctis bumping another old thread on ESReality or a hardcore Russian fanboy!

The project is over a year old now and only the trailer got released. The movie maker behind it, Czech Republic Silu from han-sai production, deleted his work over 20 times before finding the "perfect combination". And according to Mister Fan's sayings, manJu is now planned to be released on 24th December, just before Christmas!

We already are in the catch-up week of the EMS5 Quakelive TDM and some matches results are still missing. For now, let's have a look at the results of the Playday 3 and a quick view at these late games.


Late matches:

According to the schedule, the playoff matches will start next week with the Winner Brackets quarter finals. The playoff page will be created on Monday 30th November in the morning and the first matches will be pre-scheduled on Thursday 3rd December at 14:00 CST.

The CIS CIS countries still haven't given up on Quake 3 Quake 3! Started a few days ago with a huge Group Stage (80 players), the ASUS Autumn 2009 ONLINE will see its first Playoff games starting today around 09:00 CST.

From the group stage, 24 players made it to the 1st playoff brackets. Now 8 experts players will join them in a 32-slots Double Elimination brackets which will be played as best-of-3.

Then the best 8 players from this brackets will advance to the 2nd playoff where 8 masters players will join them. Again DE brackets will be used with bo3 matches. The 2nd playoff will start Sunday at 09:00 CST.


The finals are played on LAN with Amai'sD, RazerJibo and srs/rzr/Cypher. The format consist of one group where all players will play against each others in bo5 matches. All results can be found on c58.ru.

After the different events happening in December and January were considered, the schedule of the European Championship was finalized and is available to everyone. No need to mention that all matches are still subject to reschedule. On that matter, today all the players were sent the rules and informations about the tournament, including the rescheduling process. For now, United Kingdom GaRpY's matches are known to be moved to the end of November.

Here are the pre-defined dates and times for the matches at the moment (times are CET):

All the games planned on Wednesday after 15:00 CST are planned to be covered on the ESL TV Quakelive show by United Kingdom 2GD and United Kingdom Joe. For all the other games nothing is planned, but it is expected to have streaming for the majority of games.

Started yesterday with 32 players and administrated by our very own Netherlands technics, the ESL Japan Quakelive 1v1 Cup should be finished today. The last games, including the WB Final and plenty of LB matches, will begin by 06:00 CST. Some of them will be streamed and commentated in Japanese by the legendary Japan BRZRK himself! If you don't know this man, you can read an interview of him on Negitaku as there is an English version available.

Those who use the alternative servers browsers or the demo player for Quakelive have noticed that these useful tools were not working anymore after the last update released by id Software. Today most of them have been updated and the new versions are now functional again!

The alternative servers browsers are scripts which use the Greasemonkey Firefox add-on. In order to get the new versions working without a flaw, it's recommenced to uninstall the previous versions of these scripts. The demo player itself is an add-on and also requires to get the last version uninstalled.

Considering the amount of rankings gathered for these first cups, the previous post just won't be updated. So here is a brand new post for the results of the first cups of the Intel Game On tournament. Mostly all matches were played yesterday evening, except for two 3rd place matches in DACH and UK.

Today ESL announced the detailed schedule for the IEM4 Quakelive American Championship . It's now money time and each game won will be rewarded with $75. Due to the late announcement, players are given a free wild-card for their first match to get it rescheduled.

The first matches are planned to begin at 22:00 CDT, 28 October 2009 with Canada Griffin versus United States of America relic and United States of America LoSt-CauZe vs Canada sparks at 21:30 CST. We're trying to get coverage for most matches, but so far we still need to wait before announcing anything.

Update: Fixed the dates which were wrong due to the newser using European timezone in the source.

In a short press release made public yesterday, the English powerhouse 4Kings announced the addition of a Quakelive team. The players are all from the nfinity TDM lineup, which barely survived 2 weeks after the recent addition of Jibo. With 8 TDM players, the team could easily have 2 squads running in the TDM competitions.


For now, nothing was announced on nfinity's website and all these players still appear in the Quakelive roster.

Update: As stated by Andreas "Fisk" Johansson on nfinity.se, his Quakelive team just followed him when he moved from nfinity to 4Kings.

The people from LowLandLions are organizing a Quakelive 1v1 Cup on the 27th of October. All the matches will be played as bo3 in single brackets. 32 slots are already planned and the winner(s) will be rewarded with some hardware prizes (PureTrak Talent & 2Gb GeIL Memory).

The maplist will consist of qztourney7 (Furious Heights), qztourney9 (House of Decay), qzdm6 (Campgrounds), qzdm13 (Lost world) and ztntourney1 (Bloodrun). So far, the only big name on the sign up list is the German player k1llsen. It's time to shine Internet heroes!

Update: Due to the amount of sign-ups, the cup has been extended to 64 slots.

The 3rd Quakelive TDM 4v4 Qualifier Cup for the ESL Major Series V takes place tonight and will start around 10:00 CST. So far, 14 teams are already signed up, and the sign-up process will still be running until 10:00 CST.

All matches are played as bo3 in single elimination brackets. The top4 teams will see themselves qualified for the EMS5 season after 2 rounds, but all the matches will be played for seeding purposes.

The second Intel Extreme Masters 4 Global Challenge to feature a Quakelive competition, after the Pro/Am Challenge of Cologne, will take place in United Arab Emirates Dubai during the Gitex Shopper & Consumer Electronics Expo. A plethora of fine duelers including United States of America rapha, Austria noctis, Sweden spart1e, United States of America DaHanG, Russia Cooller and many more will battle for the $6,500!

Many games will be covered by United Kingdom 2GD, United Kingdom Joe and their friends on ESL TV with single and free 700kbps streaming. All the group matches will be played as best-of-3, then the top2 players from each group will advance to the playoff, played as best-of-5.

The day 3, as well as the Quakelive tournament, is now over (Day #1 & Day #2 posts/comments are still available). Don't forget to check the VODs on ESL TV and grab some demos from the match links!

The second Intel Extreme Masters 4 Global Challenge to feature a Quakelive competition, after the Pro/Am Challenge of Cologne, will take place in United Arab Emirates Dubai during the Gitex Shopper & Consumer Electronics Expo. A plethora of fine duelers including United States of America rapha, Austria noctis, Sweden spart1e, United States of America DaHanG, Russia Cooller and many more will battle for the $6,500!

Many games will be covered by United Kingdom 2GD, United Kingdom Joe and their friends on ESL TV with single and free 700kbps streaming. All the group matches will be played as best-of-3, then the top2 players from each group will advance to the playoff, played as best-of-5.

The day 2 matches covering Groups A and C are now over and saw the qualification of rapha, fox, Cooller and DaHanG. A new post will cover Day #3 as well as the brackets announcement from Lo3.

With the recent addition of Russian Quakelive servers, the Russian-speaking community needs a new place to gather and regroup. The official Quakelive forum isn't the right place as nobody is allowed to post in any language but English there. So Russia Jaguar had the idea to open a big Quakelive forum for all the players from Russia Russia, Estonia Estonia, Belarus Belarus, Latvia Latvia, Kazakhstan Kazakhstan or Ukraine Ukraine.

This new forum isn't only aimed at new players, and such topics as tactics, tweaks, demos and players are getting started. Some known players also share their experience on the game through some blogs, talking about their beginnings and how they progressed.

The second Quakelive TDM 4v4 Qualifier Cup for the ESL Major Series V will be played tonight at 10:00 CST. This time 14 teams are already signed up, and the sign-up process will still be running until the cup starts.

The cup will use a Single Elimination bracket with bo3 matches. The top4 teams will see themselves qualified for the EMS5 season after 2 rounds, but all the matches will be played.

Update: The cup is now over. Here are the rankings:
1st. Europe k1ck (GaRpY, abso, eden, zsx)
2nd. Poland FearFactory (kertaL, Thrawn, Fanat1c, sch)
3rd. Hungary viRus (Smogii, dark, ark1, Br4z1l)

Zotac Quakelive Cup #2 is over! (49 comments)

The 2nd edition of the Zotac Quakelive will take place this Sunday starting at 06:00 CST. The sign-ups are still open until 05:00 CST.

Once again the cup format will consist of SE brackets using bo1 matches until the quarter finals. Then the games will be played as bo3. Also the best player will be rewarded with 100€.

Update:
The first & last cup won France strenx.
From 109 players who sign up, today 61 players checked in for the 2nd cup, including Belgium burnedd, Russia rekkth (= Cooller), Belarus Cypher, Germany k1llsen, Sweden madix and all the other participants. Cup is now over, and the winner is K1llsen. Also, the sign-ups for the 3nd cup are now open!

Yesterday the ESL announced the Groups Drawings for the IEM Quakelive American Championship regular season. The drawing will take place on ESL TV at 12:00 CST along with the American and European CS Groups Drawings. The Quakelive duelers will be randomly picked from the following seeding pools into 4 groups of 4 players:

Also another news was posted about the prizes for the European Championship competitions. These will be the same as the American for Quakelive with a total of $10,600.

Update: The VOD of the show is now available.

The Quakelive ESL-TV KotH comes back again with its 5th edition. The show now gets a new day: Wednesday at 14:00 CST! United Kingdom 2GD and United Kingdom Joe will of course be your host for the evening to comment some 1v1 and 2v2 games, along with some crazy topics.

The current king, United Kingdom dignitas/Vizari - previously known as HELL, will defend his crown against 3 new players:
- Lithuania BVG|GUard
- Sweden xlo-madix
- Iceland vG^linkoo
Once the duels are over, the show will continue with the 2v2 game of the week. Austria noctis and Sweden zyv will face new opponents in the names of Iceland linkoo and Sweden hazRd on ztn (bet)!
