Lets go back ten years. I have been hosting servers for that long!!! Yes, I enjoyed a great game of q3 and I wanted everyone to be able to have fun playing the game, maybe thats why this game has survived the times. Its because of people who care and want to play fair and have fun, and there were alot of admins like that. I would like to think I was one of them!!! Yes occasionally I would get upset and just change maps but hey you have to make a point sometimes.

To my point!! I have spent thousands of dollars running my own servers and websites promoting the game and providing the game over the last ten years. Some of these servers were hosted for me for free and others were paid for. My websites always had a donations button through paypal which has seen some money donated but hey lets be honest not much at least not compared to the money I personally have spent supporting the community.

I have hosted personal servers on my spare box and clan servers until about four years ago when I decided to just host a public CTF server as you all know it was and still is called Thunder CTF. I called it Thunder because I used to play on a server called that along time ago. It was actually hosted by a friend of mine Kenpo who I used to admin with and help him support it through donations.

I currently am not involved with Thunder CTF as of the end of February 2010, and this is the reason why I am sending this message to you all as well as posting on a few select forums.

I have been accused of CHEATING the q3 community out of five hundred dollars. Not to sure what you think of this but I figured you should hear my side of the story.

About two years ago I was approached by Jordon.p to host Thunder CTF for me on his box. From what I gathered Jordon still had the box from the clan days, because it was being used as a Ventrillio host and also a email server and a Mirc ghosting host. I was not happy with my hosting at the time and thought that it was time for a change. I have know Jordon for a long time and he is well know in the q3 community as being a very good player. I also figured that if Jordon was hosting he would play a little more which in turn would draw some more people back into the game. So I said sure and away we went the server became very popular myself and Jordon and two other guys were making monthly payments on the box when I first joined up with Jordon. After a couple of months I ended up having to cover half of the boxes monthly payment and for awhile it was the whole payment.

This is where frustration started to set in, but I was lucky enough to receive a generous DONATION!! from one of the guys who used to play on the Thunder CTF server. It was the sum of five hundred dollars. This was perfect now I didn't have to worry about hounding the other guys to try and pay for the box, I figured I would be nice and just cover the whole box payment with this donation.

Everything was great Jordon had tweaked out the server to make it more like the game mod OSP and had set up the stats beautifully. We were ranked number one in the world for quake3 game servers. I was really enjoying the success that had occurred from having Jordon offer to host the game server on his box.

This is where things started to fall apart. We were accused on a websites forums that ranks our server that we were ghosting the number of clients that we actually have on at one time to achieve the number one ranking. This is true we were doing this, actually Jordon was, he was obsessed about having the server be ranked number one. Myself personally I did't care but went along with it just due to his volatile demeanor when it came to questioning him on what he was doing. He asked to borrow my account for the websites forums, and he used it to slander the other guys server as well and I was banned from there servers.

When Jordon hosted for me he had full access to the rcon information and that became an issue because I would hear from other people that played on the box all the time that they had been kick/banned for taking the red armour in front of him, or talking trash to him, or just beating him and typing LOL!! Trash talking is part of the game always has been and always will be. Taking a specific weapon or armour in front of someone else that is normal it happens all the time. But to be banned for these things is not the way you like to promote the server. I was constantly playing the middle man trying to keep people happy and still play mister nice guy with Jordon. I would logg on to the server and delete all the bans on the rcon list once a week just to keep people happy. Then Jordon started banning people using his iptables list in the operating system, which I didn't have access to.

The icing on the cake after dealing with these issues constantly for about a year was I logged onto my own server, thats right Thunder CTF and began playing a map with Jordon on my team. We were kicking ass and alot of the other team left so the auto team balance moved me to the opposite team, since I was the last to join. Needless to say we actually came back and won the map in over-time!! This is when I was kicked and banned from my own server. I was kicked and banned off the Mirc client that Jordon was hosting and I was denied access to the Ventrillio server.

I logged onto Mirc with my own personal account and and pretty much said WTF!!! His reasoning was that I should have spectated and let him win the game, friends don't do that they don't play against each other and win. I was upset and furious and there was some things said, that need not be mentioned, and then I decided that it was time for me to cut myself loose from Jordon.

I knew I would never be able to run Thunder anywhere else due to the way I had seen him crash other competing servers and hack into there boxes and retrieve there rcon passwords and completely screw up the game play so none would want to play on it.

So to put it simply I told him I was done and that I was not interested in running Thunder CTF any more and if he wanted to pay for his box that he could and he could run the servers if he wanted to. Immediately after I said this Jordon shut down the server and I figured it was done. The next morning when I woke up I decided to look and see if he had changed his mind about running them and he had, they were running.

Jordon knew about the donation and figured he could harass me into sending it to him to continue paying for the box. He would e-mail me and and phone my home line and my cell at all hours of the night. It got to the point where I had to mute my phones just to get some sleep. What he dosn't understand is that over half the money was already spent paying for the box for four months. The other part of it is that it was a DONATION which means I can do what ever I want with that money pay for the server or a website, or even just hold onto it and call it money owed for the hours and hours I spent building the website for the server. Cause yes Jordon if you don't build it yourself you have to pay someone else to make a site for you.

The harassment seemed to stop finally until today!! I received a phone call from Jordon asking for the money again. I told Jordon that I would not give him any money and I hung up. I found out from a friend that someone logged onto Facebook and friend requested all my friends and left a message accusing me of stealing five hundred dollars from the q3 community. He also continued to phone my cell and text me for an hour straight after I hung up.

So now you all know my side of the story!!
