If it all goes well then it should be lots of fun :D

With the lull in LAN tournaments I decided to interview someone in Quake who we don't really hear a lot from but is amongst the top players,
Jeffrey "
draven" Debipersad. The interview covers a little bit about his life before high-level gaming, how he discovered Quake and some words of encouragement for any Quake players in Benelux.
Despite being a top player in Quake who has travelled to many different tournaments, Taekwondo still has taken Draven to more places than video gaming. He attended World Championships in Korea, Greece and basically places all over Europe. However despite being the national champion, he didn’t manage to win the international tournaments, “I didn’t win, was too jetlagged and too nervous on those podiums as 15-16 year old kid”.

Hello Liefje.

After the success of last week's Quake Live One Night Wonder Cup, ESports Heaven has decided to run a second cup tonight. The number of player slots has been set at 32 although this may be raised if there is enough interest. The tournament runs as a single elimination bracket with all games using a best-of-one format until the final. The final then switches to a best-of-three match. Once again, players are competing for bragging rights although it is expected that in the future, there will be hardware or cash prizes on offer.
Maximum players: 32 (can be upgraded to more if needed)
Format: Single Elimination
Admins: dfb
Rules: "Coming soon as we are still working on them"
Tournament starts tonight at 12:00 CST, so sign up quickly!

Kevin "
strenx" Baeza is a 19 year old student from France. Many Quake fans got their first impressions of strenx in the infamous interview after his match with
Anton "
Cooller" Singov.
Today he’ll be heading off to Germany to compete in the Intel Extreme Masters World finals at CeBit. But before leaving, he had a lot of things he wanted to get off his chest about a lot of things.
"For me it will be funny. I won’t go through and that’s all. If I go through group I will laugh. We will see, I will just try my best, but I won’t pretend that I will win."
"Americans are more no-life than Europeans. They are putting in more practice hours than the Europeans. OK, they win tournaments but let’s look statistics: if you train A LOT for a year you are not sure to win prize money. If you work hard for 1 year you can earn more than [the equivalent of] 50 1st places in a tournament."
He also talks about Cooller's disrespect for him, why he hates DaHanG and what he thinks about people who make excuses.

I guess heres one that Dird would probably love. If you didn't see it already, Team Liquid has subbed at least the first 2 episodes of a new reality show in Korea called Hyung Joon becomes a pro gamer.
In the show, he is taken and trained by some of the best players in Korea and his first challenge is to obtain his pro gaming licence.
Since i'm silly, I didn't notice it was already posted
here. But if you want some small background infos (and to see him in action in his day job
feel free to do so :))
To compare this show with the gaming reality shows that the US release,
you can also check out

Since I can't delete it, just feel free to ignore this post or discuss the US reality shows in comparison :D

This interview was made at the CGS World finals (2007) and was intended to be published in the 3rd issue of Pro Gam3r Magazine which was never released. I found it yesterday and I thought it was still interesting enough to publish today.
Obligatory quotes:
For Graham another thing to provide job satisfaction are the people in gaming. “Some people don’t understand how great the people in gaming are. Some of my best memories, whether it be with clan mates or rival team members, or other gamers, or coaches, or managers, some of my greatest memories have been at events and in gaming."
“All I can say given in terms of advice is fuckin’ get off your ass and do it”. You heard the man. The future of competitive gaming doesn’t solely rely on players, there’s more people involved in it than that. Let’s see some new faces at events. Like Marcus and other figures in the e-Sports industry, you have to take a risk. You’ve got nothing to lose from simply trying.
Click here to read the full article (or to look at more goofy pics from WCG 2002).
Since the closure of the CGS, dj Wheat has moved away from LA and continues to run several gaming shows which you can find more about on
http://www.djwheat.tv .
If you're interested in more features that were in Pro Gam3r (but you never got the mag) there is also
Stermy's feature.

Obviously, the reason im asking this is because i'm not in Sweden anymore but the Swedish keyboard layout is my favourite. My faithful 70sek kb is pretty much dead after a new year "accident" (all PURRIs fault) and I would really appreciate it if anyone knew of swedish sites that deliver outside sweden (apparently komplett and webhallen dont) cos I'd love to not have to switch to the TERRIBLE german layout!

This sounds like its a bit of a setup! But what are they gonna do with the money? Get laid of course:
“If this all works out it will certainly make up for the life we have had until now — all we really had was each other — no women would look at us living in a cave,” said Geza.
“But with money, maybe we can find a partner and finally have a normal life.

A lot of people have asked me a bunch of shit about NZ because they're thinking of visitng there. I guess my info is probably a bit outdated as I haven't been living there for 4 years (i dont think much of the landscape changes at that time) but I have written a short guide outlining some of the nicest spots to visit in the South Island:
The only way to really see the South Island of New Zealand is by car, foot and helicopter. Destinations such as Milford Sound are only really accessible by foot and there is no other way to see it. Cameras and photographs are one way to capture the beauty but nothing compares with being there – the sights, the weather, the smells and the rewarding feeling that you get knowing that only a handful of people around the world are able to see and be where you are.
Click here if you're interested in reading the full article.
If many of you find this helpful perhaps I can make one about the North Island too because that's really where my home town is :)

Creator of the upcoming AGP Tour,
Jarod "
Streetrunner" Reisin has written an extensive article covering additions that Quake Live should have:
"I personally want Quake Live to appeal to people long enough for them to not quit after they get destroyed in their first game. I want them to not feel like they will never catch up to the average Quake veteran. I want them to play long enough to see the joy past the beginning stages of difficulty. I want more players. And I want Id Software to do well with this game and continue their great deathmatch games. That is at least 4 things I want. And there are many ways this can be accomplished. And the game is on the right track. But it needs more to become more than a game. It needs what Halo 3 has. "
The article raises some interesting points on the current state of Quake Live and the potential for the future. Check on
Gameriot's Quakelife to find out what Halo 3 has that Quake Live doesn't.

So I find myself now after CGS closed in Germany trying out a new job. It's just too hard to get work in Sweden :( So far Germany is pretty cool, but it's really hard to get around without speaking any German! I'm in a small town about 60km from Frankfurt.
I've only been here a week so I can't really say a lot about the place but I do have to say that so far my favourite place in Germany is still Berlin!!
It's a little far off from my goal of studying in the Netherlands but hey, I guess right now I have to take what I can. It's scary and lonely though! :( I'll be back in Sweden over xmas to gather up my stuff and then move here after New Year.
Anyway I hope at least I get good ping to .de servers now!! :)

Every time i'm not playing music through my speakers or headphones then I hear this fucking annoying background noise through them. it's kind of like static, or some kind of electricity noise and it reacts when I do things. For example, the noise changes when I open a file, scroll the mouse, open/close firefox and other apps.. etc.

Has anyone moved countries before? I'm looking for a good company that can ship things internationally. I'm looking to ship probably about 80kg worth of personal items (no furniture) so those containerships aren't necessary.
The speed of air transportation isn't necessary either, but if theres a company that will do it at a reasonable price then of course i'm open to it.
Any help is appreciated! Thx! =)
