ESH ONW #3 cup feedback (2 comments)
Posted by PerpetualWar @ 14:48 CDT, 24 April 2010 - iMsg
Hi,
I would like to hear feedback from ppl that were spectating or playing in the event last Thursday . It was first 2v2 one-day cup, so I`m interested to hear what was good, what would you change.
Also think about these pointers:

1. Is regular 2v2 cup good idea (like weekly cup)
2. Do u prefer one-day cups or maybe league-style of cups
3. Double elimination or Single elimination ?
4. Is another duel cup needed ?
5. What day in a week is best for most of the players besides weekends concerning cups ?

Any feedback is appreciated.

One Night Wonder #3 (32 comments)
Posted by PerpetualWar @ 17:57 CDT, 22 April 2010 - iMsg
Scheduled: 12:00 CDT, 22 April 2010 to 17:00 CDT, 22 April 2010
Schedule: Passed

Update #2: QL ESH ONW #3 2v2 cup is over. Although after the announcement it wasn't promising at all, cup turned out to be quite a successful one. There were a few no-shows at the beginning but overall cup went smooth and by the schedule. Please leave us your feedback about the cup. Thanks to all teams for participating, as well as holysh1t.tv for streaming and supporting cup, and hoping to see more teams apply in the future.

Final standings are:
1st: SKZI
2nd: METSU
3rd/4th: opla!/UEE
Update: Only one more day to signup, so make sure to register on time. (Esports Heaven have in mind cash or hardware prizes for Quake Live in the future if these ONW cups proves to be success. Attending these cups will definitely help it's cause and ensure better support of QL scene in general.)

Esports Heaven is organizing a 3rd One Night Wonders cup. This time TDM 2v2 will be used unlike the first two that were actually duel cups. This quick cup will start at 12:00 CDT, 22 April 2010 and should last only one day with 16 teams. Format of the cup will be Single elimination - Bo3. Of course if there are a lot of sign-ups the cup can be expanded, but then it will probably take more than one day to finish. Check out the announcement for more info about the cup.

For those who are not familiar with ESH or ONW at all, should be said that ONW cups are an idea of regular QL quick cups with possible prizes in the future with various modes of play (Duel, 2v2, TDM, CTF,..). Although named ONW #3, it's actually the first in the new series of ESH ONW cups, that are planned for Quake Live.

This is very busy week with a lot of games ahead of us with CB NC CTF matches in this week and one CB NC TDM match left from the last week.

CTF is in the finals with Germany Germany - France France fighting for Gold and Netherlands Netherlands - Finland Finland for Bronze, while TDM is in the semifinals yet with France France waiting winner from the United Kingdom United Kingdom - Poland Poland match, and Serbia Serbia waiting loser from the same match for Bronze Finals.

Also we got a CB OC TDM starting this week with a lot of matches already scheduled and one more qualifier to be played for CB EC Duel after which the groups will be published.

Maybe worth mentioning is the fact that for this year of CB EC Duel competition we got some prizes to give away, provided by our sponsor Steelseries:

1st: 1x SteelSeries Siberia v2
2nd: 1x SteelSeries Kinzu
3rd: 1x SteelSeries QcK+ SK Gaming

Most of the games will be streamed on Holysh1t or lvl^.

Clanbase Quake Live NC Playoffs (14 comments)
Posted by PerpetualWar @ 13:34 CDT, 15 March 2010 - iMsg
First Quake Live CTF NC playoff week started today with awesome matches ahead of us. Look at the Playoff tree and Roster for more details.
Also important thing to mention is that in Quake Live TDM NC only one match more needs to be played between Slovakia Slovakia and Poland Poland in the group stage before the start of playoffs next week.
Unfortunately, there will be no additional time for scheduling playoff matches like there was for CTF NC, which means that playoffs start next week and all challenging must be done in this week.

ClanBase NationsCup XIII - 4th week (9 comments)

Placement for the finals in CTF cup are almost determined with only Hungary Hungary and Poland Poland yet to be played for the second spot in Group B and place in the playoffs. TDM cup is still completely opened since 3 teams from the groups advances, so real fight begins in this week.
Unfortunately, after forfeiting matches twice, teams Belgium Belgium and Switzerland Switzerland dropped the TDM cup.

Important: If any game need to be rescheduled or moved to another date, admins must be contacted (PerpetualWar for CTF /TDM and Astral for CTF). Otherwise, double no-show might be applied. More info in rules.

ClanBase NationsCup - 3rd week (3 comments)
Posted by PerpetualWar @ 07:22 CST, 22 February 2010 - iMsg
Update: Three games to be played tonight as seen in schedule down here. If Belgium Belgium don`t show up tonight in their game vs Poland Poland, it will be their second no-show and kick from the TDM cup ... Serbia Serbia fights United Kingdom UK and interesting to see if they could beat them in CTF as they did in TDM yesterday. And we also got Hungary Hungary vs Switzerland Switzerland in TDM match.

Important: If any game need to be rescheduled or moved to another date, admins must be contacted (PerpetualWar for CTF /TDM and Astral for CTF). Otherwise, double no-show might be applied. Rules can be found down below.

We are at middle of the group stage with 3rd week ahead of us.
Unfortunately a lot of games has been rescheduled already and many wildcards have been used and some teams even had their first forfeits. Look for the schedule and results down here.

Unfortunately some teams decided to quit at this stage like team Austria Austria (not enough interested players) and team Belgium Belgium (no apparent reason) regarding CTF.

new headset (7 comments)
Posted by PerpetualWar @ 15:16 CDT, 29 August 2009 - iMsg
I had some cheap headset and decided to buy something better.
Anyway I came across Speedlink Medusa Stereo, seemed very good on the head, long cord, sound not so bad and price was around 15-20 euro.
I assumed mic is good also, but it turns out to be the utter bull...t.
Cant use in ts at all otherwise my mates hear echo so extreme, so I needed to go back to my old 6 Euro headset which doesn`t have those problems.
Seems isolation is so weak and pickipng up more sounds form phones then my voice.
Anyway I really need some good advice on the headset, mic must be good , mostly for use in ts or vent.
also have to be light and easy on the head.
I wonder if thats steelseries 4H are any good ?
read some bad thing about mic too.
Any other recommendations ?
the max price Im ready to pay is around 50-60 Euros.
Thanks in advance ;)

22" Gaming monitor ?? (56 comments)
Posted by PerpetualWar @ 03:55 CDT, 29 July 2009 - iMsg
Im looking to buy 22" lcd widescreen monitor, and to leave my trusty old 17" CRT on the side.
Since I play action FPS games (q3 and ql mostly) I think I need good response time, and would like to buy something decent.
Btw Im not willing to spend a lot of money, approximately some standard price I think (250- 300 Euros).
I was thinking maybe about Samsung 2232BW or 226BW, are they any good ?
Also read some stories about S, A and C panels, how importantis that also does 2232 have those panel issues as well ?
Any other monitor in that price range worth mentioning ?
Any help would be appreciated ;)

I would be grateful to know what are the stuff like ioq3 cnq3 and such.

Is there need for me to install ioq3 or cnq3 if I want to play online or not?

Help with DA settings (45 comments)
Posted by PerpetualWar @ 08:20 CDT, 26 March 2009 - iMsg
Hi,
I was an IE 3.0 user and just bought DeathAdder, and could use a little help from experienced users.
First of all my settings with IE 3.0 were:
win sens 6/11
no mouse accel
Q3 sens 3.25 Mouseaccel 0.6

I would like to get the same sens since I`m feeling my aim is totally off.

I read somewhere that DA is not so good on lower DPI so I should set it to 1800 DPI.
Now since I could go with 450 dpi and 10 razer sens , (it`s almost the same as before ), or to go 1800 DPI with maybe 2.5/10 razer sens ?
I think I`m a low sens gamer, but never really tested it, just know that 900 or 1800 DPI is to fast for me even in win if razer sens is set to default 10.
Any thought or help would be greatly appreciated.
