SEVERLY HIGH PRIORITY:
- lack of qlprism
- no linux support
- doesn't run in a browser
- "feels like shit" (c) sonic
- "shits tarded yo" (c) kkk_storm
- rofl no more Poland letters, whatever
Kinda high priority

- "launcher doesn't even start"
- "can login to website but not the launcher. says "unable to connect to the remote server"
Low priority

- there are missing textures in Winters Edge map
- no GTV
- lack of playerbase
Come on, this is your suggestion? Jesus you guys...
- Add gibs
- Zhu back on probation

- start a match settings gone solution
- quit exits the client - solved, use /disconnect
- Croatian model footsteps sounds are missing when playing at 250 fps solved? (only affects own footsteps)

- launcher doesn't remember mail and password
- "FPS is stuck at solid 114" (solved?)
- Awaiting connection forever after 1 game - solved
- "i am already in my ingame fullscreen res of 640x480 and i just have a black background (solved)
- menu sometimes doesn't recognize my mouseclicks (solved)
- FPS jump between 200-250 on com_maxfps "250". CPU usage is 40% and GPU usage around 25% (solved, engine updated fixed double core usage)
- QLranks script (solved)
- "friendlist not working at all" - posted by hitsu. Hitsu. Friendlist. Do the math. (solved in latest engine update)
- Scroll to jump is inconsistent and doesn't register most of the time if you're pressing a movement key solved by using QLHM
- lag when players connect
- Premium scoreboard not displayed on certain maps
- Scroll to jump is inconsistent and doesn't register most of the time if you're pressing a movement key
- "Blue window appears: Could not register windows class!"
- "after downloading and installing, click on the shortcut on the desktop, and it throws an error "error when initializing 0hs0000135"
There's already a few bugs/issues listed on the official website, will update/prioritize the list according to ESR userbase.

From SyncError: "We are happy to announce the first release of the new QUAKE LIVE standalone client. Existing users can easily upgrade by logging in, and downloading the installer when asked. Running QUAKE LIVE from the Start Menu or Desktop will now update your game through the launcher, before loading up QUAKE LIVE and logging you into the website from the built in browser."
Silent Night:
Not breaking with a five year tradition, the terrain-based CTF arena Silent Night is back. Otherwise known as Distant Screams, Silent Night is a fast-paced map taking place in a nameless tundra. Bases are peppered with jetpack style Flight powerup, along with the self-damage reducing Scout rune. Combine the two, and a bit of skill, and you're able to achieve breakneck speed.
Winter's Edge:
Making a return appearance as our annual Holiday Arena in a new and shiny state, Winter's Edge. A port of Quake II's The Edge. Winter's Edge will be to available for a limited time in the standard map pool, and in on our Holiday Servers in both FreezeTag and InstaFreeze variations.
- Restored Attack & Defend flag drops when carriers are fragged.
- Fixed Self Splash Damage applying an incorrect amount of damage.
- Fixed some ruleset issues that were overriding Start a Match settings.
- Fixed missing Sudden Death VO in Round Based games about to end due to timelimit.
- Raised com_maxfps max from 125 to 250, default remains at 125.
- New link to Friends List overlay in the in-game menu, to access friends, chats, invites, and Join Match URL.
- Disallow callvote clientkicking bots from Infected matches, to protect the Mastermind.
- Fixed hit registration on the cg_weaponConfig clear button in in-game Options menu.
- Updated UI to have options for r_lodBias -2, and -1.
- Made r_lodBias CVAR_LIMITED with a range of -2 to 2, keeping the default at 0.
- Remove atmospheric effects option from the Ingame Menu.
- Deprecated screenshotSocial
- Added cvarAdd and cvarMulti to allow modifying cvars by a specific value (eg cvarAdd cg_fov 5 to add 5 to your FOV on every keypress)
Will I have to re-download the game?
For players who already have QUAKE LIVE installed, the transition will be quick. You will download and install a small launcher, and it will update your existing installation files.
Will this affect the subscription service?
No changes to the subscription model are being made at this time.
What will happen to player profiles and match stats?
Player profiles, match stats, clan rosters, and other commonly accessed pages have all been integrated into the standalone client and can be accessed directly in-game without the need of a web-browser. Only the official forum and external links will open in your default web-browser.
Will I keep my player stats?
Yes, player stats will transition along with the standalone version of the game.
Will it still be possible to play through the website?
No, while many of the website functions will remain, the standalone client will replace browser-based play.
What will happen to the website? (www.quakelive.com)
Certain functions will remain available on the website even after the update is released. Players will be able to manage certain account settings, view profiles, manage clans, and even launch Pro matches from any web browser. NOTE: Managing and chatting with friends, viewing the match browser, and joining games will require the game to be open.
When playing in windowed mode, how do I see my friends list?
While in-game, whether you are playing fullscreen or in windowed mode, if you press 'Esc' to access the in-game menu you will find a new 'Friends List' option located on the lower nav, located between 'Leave Match' and "Return to Match'. The new Friends List overlay will allow you to access your friends list, QL Chat, view and issue match invites, as well as obtain a Join Match URL to share with friends so that they may join you in the arena.
Where can I find a list of known issues, or report issues I may experience?
We are currently posting known issues for the QUAKE LIVE installer, launcher, and standalone client in the Standalone Known Issues thread.
Will third-party standalone clients remain compatible?
No, unsupported third-party standalone clients, such as prism-based portal web-browsers, are still dependent on the old plug-in format and will no longer be compatible.
Will there be Mac/Linux support?
We will be unable to support Mac and Linux clients with this transition. While we have reports from our testers that the game works through emulation or virtualization software, we are unable to support native Mac and Linux versions. If you’re using Mac and Linux and have a paid subscription, you will only be able to access the game using emulation or virtualization software.
What if I am a current subscriber and I do not meet the operating system requirements?

You know every now and then you stumble upon a guy who's just a unique snowflake and distinguishes himself from the others with his atypical behaviour.
Some CoD players (especially the console department) are known for their flamboyant LAN persona. Other's are actually quite calm and dare I say highly cultivated.
The humble guys over at DreamHack recently uploaded the whole set of VODs to their official YouTube Channel. A total of 32 matches have been uploaded and are listed below following the tournament format. Enjoy the show and mind you, this post is not spoiler free.
A new community frag movie from the recent demo call has been released.
Callahan is currently looking for more demos.
IF interested, email your demo file, a description of what happened (air rocket, amazing rail, etc.), and what time it happened to: dahbayst@gmail.com
As always, it is recommended to download the movie because of youtube quality distortion.
FACEIT recently uploaded several player interviews from DreamHack Winter 2013. Conveniently uploaded on YouTube and alphabetically sorted below, enjoy.

Known French professional player Kevin "strenx" Baéza, competing in both Quake Live and Shootmania has just announced retirement from esports. Although still lacking an international major LAN victory in Quake Live, he has proven to be a vicious threat to his most notorious old rivals, such as Cooller and Cypher.
Especially known for his devastating damage output with Lightning Gun, critically acclaimed heavy aim-based player and one of the remaining low sensitivity players never changed his ferocious style during his career.[*]
Always responsible for some sort of hiccups in tournaments, he was one of the main protagonist in the development of Quake Live, providing the community with laughter, jaw-dropping accuracies, streaming his games and offering coaching services. His passion for competing reflected well in numerous online tournaments where he was almost a guaranteed winner. According to the announcement, we will still be able to see him stream games.
"Hello everyone, I wanted to announce my retirement from Esport as a player. Why that? It's something that took a while in order to be sure and you know that I haven't decided headlong. I just don't want anymore, and I want to do other things in life! I have realised so many things these 2 last months and it's time for me to move on. Thank you to everyone, people who loved me, who hated me, I will never forget it. But no worries, I might stream sometimes for fun, I will still be there somewhere."

Final race could have been more exciting, apparently riding slow is cool now. Marquez played it smart, half speed throughout the race, Lorenzo beasting it up, achieving world record lap speed in Valencia. Really sick battles between Lorenzo and Pedrosa, hitting each other on almost every turn. gg wps, next year Lorenzo Takes it, heard it here first.
Hondas have brutal top speed, almost 30km/h difference on every race, Yamaha has to do something about it next year and this might even bring Rossi a place on the podium.

I need to vent somehow, I need to destroy something.
Trying to create only makes me more miserable, I think I'm losing it.
it's all falling apart.
If there's an infinite amount of dimensions, surely there's one in which things aren't so grim.

The sampler matches have been updated, Harvester is making its third appearance, this time on Cold Cathode
Harvester is a team-based game mode that hails from the original Team Arena release. Fragging the other team will cause a colored skull to emit from an obelisk located in the middle of the arena. Grabbing the enemy's skull, and running them to the enemy's base will score you a point for each skull captured. Grabbing your teammate's skulls will deny them from the enemy. The first team to reach 15 skulls captured is the winner!
The Sampler servers are available in limited capacity, so look for matches named "Harvester Sampler" and enjoy!

At least he looked that way in his pathetic reality TV show, depicting sad drugged up attention hogging family that just screamed "we spawned obnoxious brats and are bored with our lives"

This week all QUAKE LIVE subscriptions and tokens are now on sale for 25% off. No coupon code necessary, just head on over to the order page and the discount will automatically be applied. The sale ends at the end of June 16th, and applies to both new subscriptions and renewals.
We will have 3 tournaments this year, two in Quake Live and one old-school DOOM II tournament. New for 2013 will be a Clan Arena tournament for Quake Live, and returning will be the always exciting Duel mode. Now get back to practicing!"
Greetings fellow Kvaqc Lyfe players, Faceit and ClanBase CTF matches have not been updated yet so it's still uncertain what will happen this week - 125FPS is hosting a new Fresh Blood tournament this week. Monogamy.

"C@M'D" is the long awaited frag video of Australian Quake Live player Cameron "Camma" Hockley. Camma, along with his brother Frazer "fraZe" Hockley are two of the most well known and successful players in the Australian and New Zealand region.
After building an unprecedented amount of hype in the Australian Quake Live community, C@m'd encountered countless problems and failures to materialize due to various setbacks with editors. The task of creating and editing the montage was finally undertaken by Reuben 'S4' Wakefield and completed after close consultation with Cam about his vision for the movie.
Hey guys, we are proud to present to you: c@m’d, the movie. The video features me, well known Australian Quake Live player Cameron ‘Camma’ Hockley. Many members of the international community on ESR are probably more familiar with my twin brother, Frazer ‘fraZe’ Hockley!
A huge thank you must go out to Reuben ‘S4’ Wakefield for putting in all of this time and effort, as well as having to put up with my constant nagging and constructive criticism. I enjoyed working with Reuben, and this was largely due to our sharing of creative visions, which worked well in conjunction. I’m very happy with our completed movie, and we hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed fragging all the Aussie guys! (as for everyone else, watch out for a possible LAN visit from Fraze and I in 2013 ;) )
Comments and feedback are of course welcome, both positive and negative, and I look forward to getting more quality frags and feedback for c@m’d.avi 2.0 ;)

Hey guys, I'd like to share with you my new frag movie.
The long awaited flick features Moldova's finest players and it took literally minutes of editing, cutting, and crying myself to sleep. Special thanks to God for showing me the way.
Please vote 10/10 because I don't feel like making fake accounts right now.
E yo 'sup hommies. We got some fresh Nations Cup matches goin' on this week, it's gonna be rad. Them niggz over at LevelUp might just do some sick ass casting. But this week's action doesn't stop here - Novice and inexperienced North American players will be able to battle it out in the third installment of Step It Up duel cup. Faceit will be hosting the regular daily cups and presumably include TDM 2v2 in their weekly array of cups, so make sure you sign up and give it a try. You don't want to miss the 125FPS Finals during the week. Tune in, play more quake and don't hurt the ponies.

The guys behind Red Orchestra and Killing Floor speak out - With all the CoD bashing going on this years, there's a healthy discussion going on over at /r/games
It's an interesting read, although it does sound a bit like a rant because red orchestra isn't doing so well.
excerpt from interview: "Players like Elliot [Cannon, Lead Designer] and I, back in the Quake and Unreal days, you know, we had to get good at aiming. These guys don’t have to anymore. The skill gap is so compressed that like, “The game makes me feel that I’m awesome.""
It's quite funny to see all those "hardcore" players crying about the lack of games like UT and Q3A and it sure brought up some memories with articles from Something Awful
Although quakers have little to no interest in CoD (rightly so), would you say that cod can be considered a "gateway drug" and introduce more people into gaming or is on the other hand just dumbing the shooting genre down by adding weapon levelling and similar gimmicks?
cs 1.6 is nowadays almost revered in esports, although it was frowned upon in 2002
Do you think there's a chance of CoD becoming "oldschool hardcore skilful game" in let's say 10 years?
Half a year of weekly threads milestone reached. Put on your party hat and get naked - this weeks action will deliver something for all tastes; some intense Nations Cup CTF and TDM matches, the regular duel and CA cups from FaceIt and 125fps March season groups. North American players can test their skill on Hektik. (Monday for EU viewers, Sunday for NA players). Play more Quake Live and keep on fsdfdsing

Your lovely Samsung 2233 RZ is now broken. Look what you've done. If only there was a a way to fix it. Fortunately, there's two ways out, simple repairs that you can manage to do by yourself. Let me guess, you've mistreated your lady, the panel is cracked/broken, or, option B, you've mistreated your lady and the capacitor decided to have none of it and spontaneously combusted. Either way you're stuck with no display.
There's two ways out, both of them described below along with disassembly tips. Just some quick info before we get started.
edit: sorry admins, I screwed up with the image placement, please re-approve <3

"The March 2013 Standard arena rotation is now online. On the first Monday of each month, we will be cycling the Standard arena pool. Rather than only having access to the same standard arenas day in and day out, each month we will now feature 24 arenas selected as playable for Standard-level matches.
Newly released arenas will remain exclusive for at least three months, but every other arena is eligible to be included in the cycle."

Another week is here, I'm still relatively sick and this is how I spend most of my days, minus the cat. I'd appreciate if you could inform me about missing matches or incorrect schedules as I won't be able to monitor them. TDM NC, HoQ and CPM TDM page hasn't updated yet - pay extra attention to this weeks 125FPS cup (starts at 08:00 CST) which will feature no else than Cooller, Evil, pavel, dem0n and more.

Still going strong with the upcoming week threads, with a bit of disclaimer instead of a sugar coated intro. This threads are becoming increasingly unreliable and irrelevant due to so many reschedules, postponed matches, missing streams or in some other form inaccurately scheduled matches. I'm doing my best to hunt down the exact times but with CTF nations cup, TDM nations cup, HoQ matches, CPM TDM, "maybe yes maybe no" duel tournaments it gets really hard to put everything in the right place. HoQ is still outdated, I hope most other matches are accurate. To-do list: add missing matches (HoQ, cpma TDM, NC TDM)

It's quite impressive for a unity driven game - it makes me want to do fallout 1/2 all over again and again but honestly after so many replays, this looks like a refreshing game with similar combat mechanics.

You can find it on the shelves of all better-equipped stores. We're planing to do more, so don't stop ragequitting, complaining, posting gifs or making absurd statements.

The week we can experience the changes in the regular 125FPS cups, a lot of interesting Nations Cup matches, pleasing both TDM and CTF playerbase. There's still a few HoQ matches and CPM TDM matches missing which will be added promptly.

There's so many things I want to try out.
Zeno Clash impressed me with a really breath taking fantasy world, the landscape is so odd and bizare, fighting system is also well in place. Also reminds me that I have to finish amnesia, then there's samorost 3, the hilariously bugged overgrowth, and a serious contender for all the competitive fighting games out there -
Watch out tekken

I'm enjoying it so far, it's a nice cheap board that doesn't feel cheap at all. It's sturdy, heavy and it's nice to type on.
However I'm still undecided between this and blues - I like the click clack and feel of blues. Time will tell I guess, it's just nice to have a new family member :}

The previous week, FaceIt successfully introduced pay-in tournaments, read more about it here. Meanwhile, HoQ leagues are still going strong. While most division 1 matches are not streamed, a new tool called Open Broadcaster Software allows everyone with a decent connection to start up their own stream. The simple interface offers fast and easy setup. You can still test your skills and pursue a small amount of money in daily 125fps cups.

Not to keen on any of them, to be honest they all look disastrous. Some reviewers also complained about 4000 DPI not being enough.
It's a cringe fest really, I don't know where this is leading us but it's obvious that we won't see a successor to allmighty MS mice for some time.
Looks like gimmicks and shitty design is what people really want now. I wonder how bst's mouse will cope with this modern designs.
"MSI strengthened its gaming product portfolio - currently limited to performance PC hardware such as motherboards and graphics cards - with addition of a new gaming peripherals line. One of its first members is the GK Series and GS Series of mechanical gaming keyboards. Pictured below, the GK Series consists of two models featuring the iconic yellow and blue strips found on its lightning and MPower series hardware. The two feature a 104-key QWERTY layout, backed by 5 profiles and over 50 macro combinations. Under their hoods are Cherry MX Red mechanical switches. MSI plans to release the two to the market, later this year."
The MMO market is evolving and for the better. This evolution gives us a chance to allow more gamers to experience TERA for free.
No level, time, or content restrictions.
Our philosophy is to add to what we already offer instead of restricting existing content. We've added an in-game shop where players can choose to buy costumes, mounts, and consumables, but the core of the game will be 100% free.
Another one bites the dust.
It wouldn't go F2P because they're doing so well - Rift is still subscription based, most other MMORPGs had to go with the semi-free scheme though. End level gear grinding is arguably tedious and just plain horrible, the sub for a month is ~15$ I think
This one just looks like a perfect opportunity to give the graphics/game play a try without spending a dime.
An unhurried project, done with much passion, that for lack of means may not be as good as it should be, I don't know; but I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Aqui os dejo este proyecto realizado sin prisas, con mucha pasion;quiza por falta de medios no sea todo lo buena que debiera,no lo se,pero e disfrutado muchisimo haciendola.Espero que os guste.

Keeping the tradition alive and kicking it off in the year 2013. Excuse the delay, I hope you find the info still relevant. Last year was full of surprises, some good, some bad; the usually ups and downs of any online game in this dire times.
Lesser known games without huge corporate benefactors are left to rot if the community itself doesn't kickstart them and push them into the spotlight amongst big E-sport titles. There will always be naysayers that claim a certain game or even genre is dead. Is it less active than previous years? Maybe so. Should we strive to make it better? Hell yes.
2012 marked the year when we lost our beloved Zotac cups in the end of July, it was a massive blow for the community which racked up a hefty 275 signups to express the gratitude of running 144 cups. Fortunately, FaceIt team stepped in and have been bringing us quake actions since September, hosting more than 40 cups and events since then. We have a chance to get Quake Live back on DreamHack this year, provided we, as a community, pull ourselves together and make 2013 a fabulous year for Quake.

Please tell me this is not real?
It looks like someone intentionally spewing out random cringe-inducing sentences, just to stir up some major shit.
OCN.com has very strict rules, you can't even get away with writting "shitty" without censoring it first, so I'd gladly invite this young fellow to our beloved barely moderated ESR.

A rather slow and festive week awaits us - most big leagues such as ClanBase have announced the schedules for the next year, some are currently on stand-by and will continue the matches in the beginning of January. However, the FaceIt Team isn't going to rest this holidays; along with daily 125fps cups and ZOWIE Excello cups - there's still plenty of action going on. Support Quake Live by signing-up and playing the open tournaments and if that's not possible, tune in for the streams.

The holidays seem to creep earlier every year. QUAKE LIVE is jumping on the bandwagon by launching our holiday matches earlier than ever. Skip the maddening holiday music, crowded malls, and hectic traveling plans, and return to Winter's Edge and Silent Night.
Making its third appearance as our annual Holiday Arena is the perennial favorite, Winter's Edge. A port of Quake II's The Edge, which last week saw it's 15th year passing since release, this year we are allowing the ability to play this arena across all supported gamemodes. Along with The Edge, also return the tree of lights in the center! Winter's Edge will be to available for a limited time in the standard map pool, and in on our Holiday Servers in both FreezeTag and InstaFreeze variations.
Making it's fourth appearance is the terrain-based CTF arena, Silent Night. Otherwise known as Distant Screams, Silent Night is a fast-paced map taking place in a nameless tundra. Bases are peppered with (my personal favorite) jetpack style Flight powerup, along with the self-damage reducing Scout rune. Combine the two, and a bit of skill, and you're able to achieve breakneck speed. There's not much else to say about Silent Night, just hop on and play!
- Fixed server command flooding that possible when end-map voting is disabled, which would result in clients being dropped / disconnected.
- Fixed incorrect starting health bonus when callvoting to and from PQL (in gametypes where the QL ruleset should have no health bonus, like CA).
- Increased the maximum engine message length to reduce the occurance of Bad Command Byte errors in large matches.
- Fixed picmip issues with: santa/sport, razor/blue (head), razor/red (head), razor/sport_red (head), james/red (head) player skins.
Fluorescent
- Removed the nodrop in the water, flags will no longer auto-return when dropped into the water.
- Fixed the nonsolid water at railgun, replaced it with a functional but more shallow pool of water.
- Added/improved some clipping to the Medkit water tunnels.
Limbus
- Misc texture fixes.
- Set all models to lightmapped for improved lighting.
- Fixed visible caulk at the Red Armor jumppad.
- Removed raised trim at upper yellow armor platform.
- Swapped Railgun window for door.
- Placed window at Railgun / quad ledge.
- Added extra detail at Red Armor jumppad ceiling.
- Tweaked Railgun / Quad ledge area detailing.
- Tweaked Shotgun 'hop-up' ledge area clipping.
- Fixed Shotgun / Red Armor jumppad not being cushioned at the back.
Silence
- Fixed the clipping error near the Red Armor walls.
Sinister
- Fixed a clipping error in the Red Armor room.
