Match Period 3 for HoQ Leagues CTF started 2 days ago! All the games that need to be played are listed below. You have until 24th Feb to play your matches from rounds 6, 7 and 8 so get playing! (We're adding 1 extra week due to QL's downtime)


For teams who have games from previous rounds that have been postponed or wildcarded remember to try and play them as soon as you can. There is a catch-up week at the end of the season but this should be a last resort. It is better to play them now than wait until that last week and end up with matches forced if there are scheduling problems!

Need a new fps game (dueling), can't handle quakelive anymore. It's to much of the same thing all over again. Same maps, Same Physics, Same guns... over 9 years now and the game gets re-released but with out a cd to install it and less options then it's predecessor.. I'm not saying quake3 was good, vq3/osp was awful, typical slow 1 weapon fights. People getting punished for rushing someone or missing 1 rail. We need painkiller2 :o) - something fast and more super crazy speed..

Maybe regular quakelive tournaments with prize money? Although most of the time this requires sponsors and funding. Why doesn't someone (who's respected in previous tournaments and understands how to run and handle a tournament) put up a buy in tournament. See if anyone adds up for it ;p

off the bat, worst setup of tags ever... This guy has been unlucky not to force his way through to the finals, but after a devastating defeat from the italian stallion stermy i think his confidence has dropped a bit (and because of this he is currently playing more random duels online). But lets face it, this guy didn't have chance vs noctis, he's good don't get me wrong but for all the wrong reasons he's good. He's a fast paced attacking force although other then painkiller (which in the end fatality proved to be slow) was the only fast paced game out there. This guy deserves a lukek thumbs down B<

Garpy is another one that fits into the catagory of a 20 year old bordering a 10 year old.. I've seen quite a few rage anger quits from this guy and although it can be funny to watch, sadly it's stupid. I can't say i rate this guy that highly at all, he offers some kind of skill, but nothing to be cared about.. (post rant finished)

I felt sorry for this guy vs fox, he had a really really hard time.. especially after beating bodzo. But speccing all 4 of his games i was pretty uninspired of his player and have seen players higher above his skill on random servers. Well I'm flipping out, playing quakelive quite a lot because i'm finally enjoying a game again after a long stint in the cpm scene.

It seems like most of my knowledge coming from cpm to quakelive is lost, I never knew how dependent you are on sound in cpm compared to other games, you actually have to think about what your opponent is thinking.

I hope I'm slowly getting a grasp on how people act but dueling people who are better then me all the time is making the learning curve 30x harder plus the fact my pc crashes about 7 times a day!!!ASGA£GASDG (after doing krav maga and kick boxing it's safe to say the case will not close anymore).

I've sadly only got wireless in my flat and don't want to drag a cable throughout the whole building just to connect to the box. So I've got myself a wireless PCI card - Netgear Wireless 54mbp PCI.

The downside is it keeps giving me loads of spikes and packetloss while playing games. Does anyone know any better cards for wireless gaming that might improve it?

I'm unsure if it's a shame or it's a plus side but having so many games being considered a "pro" game to play because it's in tournaments is surely killing the whole idea of gaming going mainstream. We have so many different tournaments going off that feature a random stretch of games and tossing and changing what should be played and shouldn't.

I think it needs to go back to the old days when it was literally 2 or 3 main stream games that actually were featured in tournaments otherwise basically the mainstream idea of gaming is (to put it bluntly) - blowing it's load to fast.

We have players coming and going and the spectators (like myself) are getting bombarded and confused on what to watch. Yes gaming is gaming overall in any game they play. But it's basically like running a tournament and tossing and changing between football, rugby, badminton or snooker to be the "pro" sport.

Of course we always will have the standard CS and WOW being a pro game to play but I'm aiming more towards the 1v1 FPS games. Switching between UT, Quake, Fear, Cyrsis or god knows what ever kind of game they will think of next to be taken on board and only played to take the punters money.

Watching the CGS on tv proved to be a joke itself.

Maybe true gaming died the second they started this idea, but until we find a company that is seriously in the zone to help the gamers progress and not just make money (which of course they must) it's going to die real soon.
