It's autumn, which means that it's time for another season of QuakeWorld action.
Starting in October, is the second season of the GetQuad 4on4 Draft Cup. The first season saw 17 teams and more than 90 players, spanning three divisions, with all but one game being played.
The live draft is expected to be streamed this coming weekend, so signups will close very soon.
Also in October we'll see the 2on2 spin-off from the HammerTime Duel League, Time 2 Hammer. This 2on2 league will feature a division structure, so players will compete against teams within their own skill-range.
Division based duel league ThunderDome is also making a return, with its 12th season starting during October. Signups are open now and are expected to be open until at least the end of September.
Later this year, the second season of the before mentioned HammerTime Duel League will be open for signups, with the season set to start in January.
Once again the old guard of QuakeWorld players will gather at the legendary Quake-o-Holics LAN, better known simply as QHLAN.
The LAN is famous for having been the battleground for many classic matches, between legendary clans and players. It's been two years since the last gathering, so the QuakeWorld scene is eager to crown another set of LAN Champions!
The event will take place during 29 August - 3 September, 2019. For the first time ever, the event will be held outside of Sweden. Instead it is all going down in the beautiful city of Silkeborg, Denmark.
As with the previous edition, there is yet again a crowdfunding campaign for the prize pool. While players with flair can look forward to contesting the Warzon trophy which is also making a return.

What's the deal with no Quake at DreamHack Winter?

It's final time in the European Quake League, the Division 1 final stands between two of the most legendary clans in QuakeWorld history.
Slackers vs the Viper Squad - Saturday, 11:00 CST
Slackers is without a doubt the most successful team ever, having won 2 Smackdown titles, 4 NQR titles, 3 EQL titles and just recently claiming their 3rd QHLAN title.
the Viper Squad has been the dominating team for the past 3 years, winning 4 EQL titles in a row without losing a single match.
For this match however, the Viper Squad is looking to take back their throne as kings of QuakeWorld 4on4, as their 2 recent encounters with Slackers has not been going their way. Slackers won the QHLAN 14 final last month, and took home a second victory over the Viper Squad, during their EQL group game just a week later.
As always, the match is available through QuakeTV or via Stream, if you are using QTV, you can sync up with our commentators using Mumble. You can get Quake by downloading nQuake.

It's been almost 4 months since the end of the Ownage #3 duel tounament, marking the last official matches of the spring season. Now the infamous QuakeWorld summerbreak comes to an end, as it's possible to sign up for the 12th edition of the European Quake League.
The prestigious 4on4 league will start in less than 3 weeks, and will once again use a divisional league structure, allowing for players of all skill-levels to compete. Each division will have it's own playoff bracket at the end of the season.
Teams and players from all over the world are allowed to participate, although server selection will be weighted towards the European community.
Players without a team can sign up for the Team building initiative set up for this season, players of any skill-level can apply.
Start: 20 September 2010
Lenght: 8 weeks group stage
Playoffs: 8 teams from each Division.
Maps: dm2, dm3, e1m2 + 2xKenya TBD
- Group games are played best of three, playoff games are best of five
The final 10 entries for the Electronic Sports World Cup's frag movie contest have been selected, and the voting process has started. As previously announced the creator of the winning entry will receive a prize of $5000, the winner will be announced July 4th at the ESWC World Finals in Paris.
Tonight, three times DreamHack Champion LocKtar will get a chance to fight his way back into the Ownage Grand Final, where the finnish quake-star Milton is waiting. But before LocKtar can get his rematch, he has to go through the tatarian aim machine Bulat whose deadly 50% lg might be too much for LocKtar to handle. Predictions say that LocKtar is the favorite on dm4 and dm2, while Bulat got the odds for ztndm3 and dm6 so we might get to see a 5th map decider on aerowalk.
Don't miss out on the action, tune in using QTV or watch the game via live stream.

It's time for the FINAL of the European Quake League, season 11. Do Slackers have what it takes to bring down the mighty tVS, and end their reign by not allowing them to go undefeated for their 5th season in a row?
Slackers is looking stronger than they have in years, with both danish superstar ParadokS and the dutch Krab back, it is likely that Slackers finally have the team that can beat the finnish powerhouse.
It's Playoff time in the European Quake League, after 7 weeks of group games, the 8 playoff teams from each division have been found. With 3 divisions we can look forward to 12 quality matches during the next 3 weeks.
To compliment the teams on a successful season with a great amount of activity, we felt the only decent thing to do was to write a preview for all of the upcoming playoff matches. We've included some info about each team, their way to the playoffs, and a prediction on the result.
Thanks to Rikoll and Hooraytio for their Division 1 and Division 2 reviews.
Everyone else is free to throw in their own predictions in the comments.

Tonight at 13:00 CST the 10th season of the European Quake League will come to it's conclusion. As the Division 1 final between the Viper Squad and Slackers will be played.
Both teams are 3 times EQL champions, with tVS winning the previous 2 seasons without loosing a single match.
Slackers last EQL championship was in EQL Season 7, when they were supposed to play vs tVS, but that game resulted in a walkover.
A part from that, the two teams have never met in a major QuakeWorld final before, leaving Slackers hungry for a victory, as they seek out to break the Viper Squad's 3 season winning streak.
To help them achieve that goal, they have brought back danish TDM veteran and QuakeWorld legend David "ParadokS" Larsen. With Paradoks' record of playing in more than 16 major QuakeWorld TDM finals, he will surely bring some much needed stability and experience to the Slackers side, and improve their chances of beating the Finnish powerhouse.
The QuakeWorld tournament at DreamHack Winter was delayed a bit due to the Quake Live tournament taking longer than expected. Now the group games are getting played with the Quarterfinals coming up later tonight.
QuakeWorld.nu runs a live stream with a mix of QuakeWorld commentators. While all the games are available via QTV.

It's time for the final matchup in the Ownage QuakeWorld duel tournament. After almost 300 matches with 150 players being eliminated, we are now down to the final two.
In the Grand Final we will see two time DreamHack Champion LocKtar going up against Avenger, who recently came out of retirement. The two players met just 10 days ago in the 7th round of the Winners Bracket, here LocKtar came out victorious after winning 3-2 in what was a very close match.
The game is scheduled for Sunday, 15:00 CST and will be commentated live by Jehar and Hangtime.

Three months ago, DreamHack Summer marked the end of the spring season for the QuakeWorld scene. Since then the QuakeWorld scene has kept silent, with players taking their annual "summer break". Today, the first sign of activity was shown when the Ownage crew announced a new season of the 256 player duel tournament!
The tournament will kick off September 21st, with a single elimination bracket where the final 16 will be going into double elimination. The map pool will be dm2, dm4 and dm6 plus additional maps depending on the outcome of the signup vote.
The countdown to the European Quake League final has begun, in about 4 hours from now, the two finalists Druidz and the Viper Squad will face each other in the last Division 1 game of the season.
With the Viper Squad showing dominance throughout the entire season with just dropping one single map, to the russian team Bear Beer Balalaika - they are indeed the favorites to win this game.
While Druidz is said to have been improving during the past few weeks, they will need to step up if they want a chance vs the finnish giants.
Rumours say that this might be the last official game for the Viper Squad - Hopefully this is just silly rumours, but even then, this is surely a match not to miss!
QuakeWorld.nu will start off their coverage of the game at 20:00 CEST with some pregame talk, and then be ready for the game to start at 20:30 CEST (12:30 CST)
