120hz vx2265wm Questions! (16 comments)
Posted by Rick @ 15:42 CDT, 28 August 2009 - iMsg
wanted to hear from everyone that has this monitor in this thread as I got some important questions. I want to pull the trigger on this, but I got some cocerns and I dont think my ****ty old vid card is capable of it.

1. How is it for aspect ratio scaling? I plan on playing some games in 1024 with black bars, does it look good although its not native?

2. Has anyone tested this out on lower resolutions to see if it still does 120hz? Apparently it doesn't do 120 at lower resolutions?? doens't seem to make any sense considering the samsung 2233rz can. A guy on another thread was gonna test it out at lower resolutions but he never got back to me.

3. I got an radeon sapphire x1950 pro. It's a DVI connection. But I think these newer LCDS are using an updated DVI-D or something that ins't compatible with this older card? My motherboard is an old AGP sucker, I'd hate to have to update all that just to get a vid card and such to use this lcd!

4. Apparently you can't lower brightness at 120hz?? Some users say its annoyingly bright.

Thanks guys!

Supermat is different now?? (1 comment)

I'm a guy who really prefers higher friction cloth mouse pads for control. To my understanding, the Fatpad (which I used for years) is EXACTLY the same as a supermat no? Reason I'm asking is because I just got another supermat shipped to me and they are now rediculously thin? Were they ALWAYS thin like a Qck+ or did they just start making them this thin recently?? I thought they used to be thicker which I prefer because it adds more comfort. If anyone sill uses one, or has seen them for sale at a local staples, could you comment for me and let me know if this is the case??

btw, I also got a qck+ and puretrak talent that I'm testing out for anyone thats curious and wants answers about those cloth pads

I have my friends Quake live key... (6 comments)

I have my friends quake live key that he gave me cause hes done playing it. But I can't sign up for a new account with his key because it says its "already in use". And I can't get a hold of my friend now to get his email and password to login.

is there anyway around this since I do have a working key. Or am i stuck since he already used it with his email? I guess i'm screwed unless I get an invite?
