Violence in games/movies (59 comments)
Posted by tewic @ 09:37 CST, 9 January 2008 - iMsg
Hey everyone

I’m doing a school project about violence in new media’s (games/movies). For that I need some material that I can use. Amongst other things I got to compare how violence works in movies compared to how it works in games, and I have to analyse the use of violence in games and movies.

On top of that I got to touch upon some of the numerous school/mall/etc massacres we’ve seen lately.

It’d be VERY nice if some of you got some links to various sites where there’s info that can help me with that (preferably articles from trusted publishers (big ones, like BBC for an instance).

My plan is already to do a few interviews with some known faces in gaming and then use the Finnish school massacre and that recent massacre in a mall in the USA. Simply because they’re radically different to what we’ve seen (at least the reasoning behind it).

If you have suggestions to something I could write within the subject, that’d also be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

This movie shows the nervethrilling last 6 minutes on the deciding map of the ClanBase OpenCup Semi Finals between Netherlands Frantic and France skAven, all brought together with excellent shoutcast from your own United Kingdom RubberChicken.
The whole video is in 720p giving you (possibly) the visually best looking UT2004 movie out there.

After his massive success with Finnish It it has been quiet around the Finnish editor Finland Electry, but now he's back with another UT2004 fragmovie which will try to follow on the previous success. If you want right on action, then this is the movie for you, showcasing the Italian player Italy devilmc raw skill, with especially the shockrifle, in any possible situation. The movie keeps the usual "Electry standard" so it's definitely worth a watch!

"devilmc the movie" has been a long-lasting project but it's finally finished and here for everyone to see. The movie features the Italian player devilmc and a collection of some of the best frags in his ut2004 career. Frags are mostly from official tournaments and games so you can expect a lot of good frags against the best ut2004 players around the world. We started the project well over a year ago but it got delayed quite a bit. Fortunately for you, we are releasing it now. You'll find decent editing with a lot of sync as usual from me

I hope you all enjoy the movie.

From UT2004 to Quake4 (47 comments)
Posted by tewic @ 03:27 CDT, 19 March 2007 - iMsg
So, I decided that I'd write a little blog, for all you people who couldn't care less about what I'm doing at the moment.

So as you can see from the title, I'm stopping UT2004, for some time. Instead I've picked up Quake4 due to Denmark getting a spot for the ESWC2007 and because of the new patch to Quake, which actually makes it just fine to play (no overpowered rail anymore).

At the moment I’m still fairly bad at Q4, but I actually enjoy playing the matches, the guns are balanced and there's no running away with shield gun, only thing bothering me is the movement, which will take me quite some practice to get good at.

I'll be going to The Gathering ’07 (Along with Sweden MadneSS from dignitas’s TrackMania team) during Easter to attend the Q4 1v1 tournament, thanks to Team-Dignitas for sending me there, despite I'm new to this game, this week I'll start a new exercise schedule + I'm going to practice a lot of Q4, hopefully I'll be fairly decent in 2-3 weeks so I can perform well at the lan.

I'm wondering, are there any of you guys going to TG '07 also?

PS: now you might go and lesson me about how you think Quake owns UT and such, and well, I admit, Q4 in it's current state (gameplay wise) is a game I do enjoy almost as much as I've enjoyed UT2004. It's more just a break from the UT series for a while =)

Some of you have been waiting a long time for this movie and now it has finally arrived. Made by United Kingdom Corby this 20 minute long 674mb movie features the Europe Team-Dignitas Call of Duty team. The team that recently got rated nr. 1 CoD2 team by gotfrag.

The movie shows Team-Dignitas attending the United Kingdom Multiplay i28 and the Netherlands Crossfire LAN's.
I do not think that there is much more to say apart from this is a must have CoD2 Movie.

Enjoy!
