After reading a recent quote :

I relized/remembered that RTS people arent the only ones who play DotA and that since the DotA community to so fucking huge, there's bound to be more FPS'ers who play than just the Q4 guys I play with on vent.

So speak up! I'm tired of playing with random noobs who pick techies in -AP. 8[

I'm a long-time fan of Q3 and more specifically, CTF. I've always kinda wanted to learn CPMA movement because i've herd CPMA ctf was really fast and fun, and i've also seen videos and such that only confirm how fast it can be. I've tried a few times to learn the movement through just jumping around on a map by myself but I still cant seem to get the speed or continuity that the vets can get.

So my question is, what do you guys suggest to learn the basics of cpma movement? Demos? Maps? Vidoes?

I'm sure someone has put together some kind of noob-friendly video or site or something that teaches you cpma movement.. right?

Anyway, any help would be appreciated ;]

I noticed from reading websites/forums and irc that there’s a pretty big split in the q3 community with ra3’ers and osp’ers. I always wondered why these two sides hate each other so much and having been recently playing osp I noticed that it isn’t your standard war of mods.. it’s quite different.

Ra3’ers do not hate osp’ers as much as osp’ers hate ra3’ers.

Most osp’ers will play ra3 on occasion (or frequently) but ra3’ers don’t play osp.

The ra3 community has some of the biggest egos I’ve ever seen in ANY game.

Most osp’ers could hop onto a ra3 server and do really well in a pub or even a match… whereas if a ra3’er tried that he’s likely to get raped.

Now I’m not taking sides here, I play both osp and ra3 (the latter only recently) but just simply stating what I have observed. I just found everything I saw to be… odd.
