Hello @everyone ! We would like to let you know that the NA qualifiers are meant only for NA & CA based players and the EU qualifiers are meant only for the EU based countries. This means that for these qualifiers, we won't be able to accept players (or teams with players) from Asia/Africa/Australia/Latin America. We have already removed those that were from the mentioned regions from the qualifiers and we hope that you will help us spread this message so it reaches them and the other players from these regions that were planning to participate. Many thanks and happy fraggin'!

Yet on the Bethesda page it says people can play with High Ping from other regions.

NOTE: All Qualifiers will be played on NA or EU servers. However, other regions can participate in these Qualifiers with higher latency. NA includes the Americas and Australia, and EU Europe, Russia and Asia.

Update 2017-06-19 by Åke Vader: Apparently this has been resolved. According to some obscure Discord quote Africans and Asians will now be allowed to play in the European region, while Australians and Latin Americans are allowed to play in the North American region.

To keep the QuakeWorld momentum going during the summer, a series of duel tournaments have been hosted the last couple of months. We have seen people battle it out on DM2 already where a winner is soon to be crowned and the DM4 campaign just started this week. Next up is a tournament on the popular fast-paced map Aerowalk which will run in parallel with the DM4 tournament. The rules are simple; it's QuakeWorld 1on1 deathmatch and the map is Aerowalk where the winner is decided in a best of three maps series. A double-elimination bracket is used to ensure that the best Aerowalker is indeed crowned king after the gunsmoke has settled.

The registration for the tournament opened up this week with the tournament starting in around four weeks from now. There will be a 32 player limit and we will hopefully see many entertaining matches as notable signups so far include some of the absolute top players in QuakeWorld today; Rikoll, Locust and Bps among others.

WARNING: ATTACK ON QL PLAYERS BELOW

A few QuakeWorld players are currently putting together the idea of a 1on1 tourney targeted at QuakeWorld vs QuakeLive players.

The games will be played in QuakeWorld however the maps will be all standard QuakeLive maps:

- Aerowalk (aerowalk, original Q1 map)
- Blood Run (ztndm3q, original Q1 map modified to match QL)
- Campgrounds (q3dm6qw, Q3 map conversion)
- Vertical Vengence (shrine, Q3 map recreation)
- Lost World (q3dm13qw, Q3 map conversion)

It will be a double elimination format best of 3 rounds with best of 5 finals open to anyone.
