Splash Damage explains how they made the transition from mod's to making commercial games with id Software. They discuss how they first contacted id Software, the mistakes they made during their transition to a real company, and personal skills that helped them form a successful company.

United Kingdom Locki, the SplashDamage leader speaks for most of the video, starting off with their days working on the Q3F mod, transitioning to their work on the Wolfenstein Doom3 multiplayer maps, and their best known accomplishment, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. For anyone who has followed this group of talented game designers since their days working on the Q3F mod for Quake3, this chat will be very interesting. The video runs a little over an hour.

How to play back Q3 demos

Demo is from QuakeCon 2003.

ZeRo4 playing against one of Q3A's most skilled players, Z4muZ.

I'm still amazed at some of the shots Z4 makes with such a high sensitivity (9.6).

ZeRo4 played a pretty clean match here against Z4muZ, with some nice aim & control.
Well worth the download if you are a Z4 fan.

I'm not sure which tourney this is from, but it's a great game with a tight finish.

How to play back Q3 demos

There are two demos in the zip file.

nB.fatal1ty -vS- Temper
fatal1ty as a relatively un-known player owning a lesser skilled player convincingly.
More of a precursor to the dominance he would obtain in the early years of Quake 3.

nB.fatal1ty -vS- stx.wombat
This is a very close game that showcased two different styles of play.
fatal1ty's offensive style -vS- wombat's defensive style. Made for a very exciting game.

How to play back Q3 demos

After reading ESReality's recent interview with Thresh, it reminded me that I had the supposedly aliased Deathrow playing as clan Gump demos.

The POV is from BubblyGump, believed to be Thresh.

The second demo starts out with a|lantern's pov, but eventually switches to BubblyGump.
The server being played on was pretty laggy for both teams so the quality of play was effected by it.
