The beginning of the QQC Quake Live NationsCup 2010 is finally here, and we bring you the 1st week matches. All the captain were already asked to schedule their first matches. The first play week will be extended, because many players cannot play so soon after new year. The first play-week will last from 4th to 17th of January 2010.

Since holysh1t tv changed their mind, matches will be covered on lvlup. Feel free to contact the admins if you are able to stream some matches. Also, we ask all players to send their demos to zeroql23@gmail.com after their games for this year's nationcup frag highlight movie. The best way to contact Czech Republic Legie and Czech Republic eJo is on #quakequickcup.

We wish all participants best luck and have fun and I hope that tourney will be at least as good as last two years.

The QuakeLive.cz Quake Live TDM 4v4 Nations Cup is approaching and with us as hosts, it has become a pleasant tradition. If your country wants to participate, simply choose your captain, who's responsibility is to pick and register the lineup. For further details about this process, please check our website www.quakequickcup.com.

The current title holders are from France France, they came on top vs team Russia Russia, followed by Sweden Sweden on the 3rd place. I have a feeling this years NC cup will be something special and I am definitely looking forward to see all the top players back in action. Hope you guys do too. You can also take a look at the hall of fame or read some more info about previous nation cups.

Nations Cup 2009 Group awards (39 comments)
Posted by Legie @ 17:44 CST, 1 March 2009 - iMsg
Best team: France France. Despite losing one map against Iceland, they seemed very stable and in good shape. First position in their group was well deserved.

Worst team: Slovenia Slovenia. Going through some problems at the beginning, this team was able to play all the matches, but ended up losing the games by huge score difference.

Most reliable team: Germany Germany. Germany Doz3r has proven as a very capable captain and scheduled all of his team matches precisely.

Least reliable team: Belgium Belgium, without any doubt. This team wasnt able to communicate even with admins and the avarage response time was a matter of days.

Best match: There were several adepts to this award, but we chose Russia Russia vs United Kingdom United Kingdom. I hope youll agree with me that this was a special game.

Worst luck: United Kingdom United Kingdom. They won 3 matches, but didnt advance to the playoffs. This is what you call a bad luck.

Most whining team: The behaviour of some Croatia Croatian players was close to what you would expect to see in a special school schoolyard. Bad language, inappropriate manner, whining, ragequitting
and more. We all know the names that ensured this "award" is going to Croatia Croatia.

Most valuable player: United Kingdom Deus, the leader and flagbearer of the United Kingdom United Kingdom.

Biggest surprise: Game between Poland Poland and Netherlands Holland. The dutch team won over the favorite and many ESR betters went bunkrupt.

Best admin: Id like say THANKS to the whole admin team for your great work. But since this award can only have one winner, Im gonna choose Czech Republic eJo, for his match scheduling and GTV work.

Zubich banned for life (217 comments)
Posted by Legie @ 11:32 CST, 9 January 2009 - iMsg
A few months ago, Spain Sombra was found guilty of cheating in the Euro Open Cup with proofs he provided himself. This year we had to go over this kind of situation again in the Quake Nations Cup Q3 TDM. The captain of the Russian team, Russia Zubich, was proved guilty of cheating in the match against the Austrian team.

The whole admin team carefully checked his demos and we are now all convinced that he was using cheats. Therefor we decided to give Austria Austria a default win (worth 3 points) for this match. Since the Russian players (from team fall1) also watched his demos, approved of the cheating and apologized to me, I won't penalize the Russian team but only its captain, Russia Zubich. He is now banned from the quakequickcup.com and quake.cz tournaments. Team Russia will remain in the Nations Cup and its new captain is now ChinaRussia Zhibo "Jibo" Fan.

He is also added on my list of cheaters

Please note: A few things that you should keep in mind

Registrations are still open: signed nations

- as you might know, the admin work is a time consuming thing; please, follow the schedule and rules to help me run the tourney smoothly

-the captains are obliged to send me the screenshots right after the match is over (I had to take the screenshots -all of them- by myself last year and I won't do it again)

-demos will be available on the QuakeQuickCup.com web site

-use the same country tag and nickname for the whole tourney (no mood colored tags; no pet names)

-be present on the IRC channel #quakequickcup for better communication

-once the match has been scheduled (when both teams agreed on a certain date), it cannot be postponed due to absence (unless you use your Wild card) - remember you can have up to four substitutes in your team; excuses won't work

-please check your team details and send me the missing information evetually

-this tourney is sponsored by asus.com

QUAKE 3 TDM - NATIONS CUP (179 comments)
Posted by Legie @ 12:15 CDT, 30 October 2008 - iMsg
Since the Euro Open Cup is now well running, I had enough time to finish the preparations for yet another big tourney - no other than QUAKE 3 TDM NATIONS CUP itself. The whole thing should start within 5 weeks, although this may change if some things would take me more time than expected. In order to make this NC even better than the last time, I've decided to make a few changes:

- The number of maximum teams per country is now restricted to ONE
- The number of maximum players per team is now restricted to 7 + 1 (team captain)
- I have now granted access to logs for almost all of the European servers, therefore I will check the logs after each game in order to prevent smurfing (fake nicking)
- I will no longer tolerate game rescheduling because of absence. Each team gets one "Wild card" that can be used for this purpose, but only once in the whole tourney.

edit: Bringing back the last year's Nations Cup atmosphere

edit2: More info about Nations Cup

edit3: When should the Quake Nations Cup start?

Sombra banned for life (1648 comments)

I am very sorry to announce that we had a cheater in Euro Duel League. The player, who showed some great improvement recently and did well in the d3porte tourney + won Oktoberfest provided and sponsored by quake.cz, Spain Sombra, cheated. Sombra sent his endgame screenshots just a few minutes after his match and probably didn't realise (or he did, but too late) those show and prove he was using a wallhack and a radar cheat. I have no choice but to ban him for all QuakeQuickCup.com tourneys, including the upcoming Nations Cup.
I'd also like to thank Sweden Fox, Germany K1llsen, Poland Thrawn, Hungary Dash1 and the others for helping me to discover this.

Quake Quick Cup 14 - report (9 comments)
Posted by Legie @ 11:34 CDT, 17 August 2008 - iMsg
Very high-quality teams participace in Quake Quick Cup 14 which was played 2x2 like the previous one.

Number of free slots in the beginning was set to 16 and before the first day was over 20 teams were signed on.

The favorites were teams sucker&noname (read Austria Noctis & Sweden Spart1e), who has fought out 2nd place in QQC 13, team Razer, which was represented by well-known players China Jibo and Sweden Zyvve and I can’t forget team Millenium.INTEL, presented by France linkin and France unity. On the list showed up too interestly called team like „call us lucky ones“ (Sweden Purri and Spain dk), for the team QCG played experienced players Serbia zeroql and Hungary zolee and for team LLL played Belgium impulse and Belgium stinobi.

The tourney started on Wednesday and continued without any problem. Two rounds of WB and 3 rounds of LB were done first day. All favourites won their matches without troubles.

The second day was more interesting. Team France Millenium.INTEL fought China Razer. The match was very interesting and team Razor won. Europe Sucker&Noname ensured WB final by beating Spanish pair Sombra&Slip. So WB Final was Razer against Sucker&Noname. The match was really very thrilling but China Razer defeated Sucker&Noname and proceed to Super Final. Sucker&Noname fought in LB Final with Serbia QCG, who played very good but not enough to beat the enemy. So we were looking forward to Super Final between Razer and S&N.

Because Sweden Spart1e has always ended on second place it couldn’t be other way. Congratulations to China Razer team for winning 3:1 and tourney at all.

Final Standing
cup_gold - China Razer
cup_silver - Europe sucker & noname
cup_bronze - Serbia QCG

Demos and screenshots available on the official sites.

QUAKE NATIONS CUP WINNERS (9 comments)
Posted by Legie @ 05:43 CDT, 25 June 2008 - iMsg
On January 21 Quake.cz crew started Nations Cup for all series of Quake. The idea was perfect, but realization wasn't. Before the tournament started, we faced our first problem which was "Who will actually admin the tournament?". The problem was solved pretty quickly (thanks to the activity of Czech admins) and for each quake serie we picked admins as follows:

QuakeWorld was admined by famous Czech player and admin Czech Republic Johnny_cz, who flawlessly took care of QuakeWorld.
Quake 2 was held by server q2scene.net and Nations DeathMatch League and this was admined by Slovak player Slovakia wision.
Quake 3 admined by me (Czech Republic Legie) since noone wanted to admin 24 teams and I had lot of free time, I took the position of the head admin.
Quake 4 was Czech Republic Hawr1x's job even thought that in the end he didn't have too much work with it.

Tournament started in late January and ended yesterday 23.6.2008. Here are the final standings:

QuakeWorld:

1. Finland Finland
2. Netherlands Netherlands
3. Sweden Sweden

Quake 2:

1. Finland Finland
2. Sweden Sweden
3. Poland Poland

Quake 3:
1. Sweden Sweden
2. Poland Poland
3. Czech Republic Czech republic

Quake 4:

Quake 4 Nations Cup was cancelled due to inactivity of all players. The only team which was willing to play was team Sweden Sweden and we really appreciate their activity.

I would like to thank to all admins of this tournament who helped to realize the idea of battle between European countries. Next, I'd like to thank Czech Republic eJo for his great work with GTV and demo recording. To Czech Republic shebin who provided the GTV and partial admining and also to polish players Poland Thrawn and Poland mov9k who were substituting me.

There were 28 countries signed to the Nations Cup and all together there was 67 teams in all Quake series where total number of players was about 480.

One more thing.. Czech player and moviemaker Czech Republic silu is working on a fragmovie from Quake 3 tournament, so stay tuned!

GRAND FINALS - QQC EDL #1 & NATIONS CUP (63 comments)
Posted by Legie @ 12:46 CDT, 20 June 2008 - iMsg
We gladly announce the dates of the final matches of both Quake3 competitions you were able to watch during the spring.

First of them is the final match of European Duel League, in which we will see a battle between the Belorussian player Belarus Cypher and the Russian player Russia Killmaster (Dark). Cypher's journey to the finals wasn't particularly hard; in the quarterfinals he beat Killmaster's teammate Russia Question 3:0. In the semifinals he got a free win, because his opponent Guard wasn't able to play the match due to his unstable connection. Killmaster in the quarterfinals faced Polish Poland Zik, whom he defeated after the five-map match 3:2. In the semifinals Killmaster maybe a little surprisingly defeated the German ace Germany Killsen 3:1. The final match will be played on tuesday 24.6.2008 at 20:00 CET as usual - BO5

*update: killmaster cant play today coz hes moden is broken - they recheduled it to tuesday

The second final match will decide the winner of Q3 NC 2008. This event was a little delayed in the last weeks due to the problems with the time schedule. Eventually both teams agreed on the date and the final match will be played on Monday 23.6.2008 21:00 CET and against each other will stand teams of Sweden Sweden and Poland Poland A. Poland A advanced to the finals after they defeated Czech Republic CZ-TA in the finals of the WB. Sweden's journey was more complicated because they had to fight their way through the LB. However they managed to win the last match of the LB against CZ-TA and the final match of the tournament is approaching. The match will be played BO5.

Expected lineups:
Poland Poland A - inz4h, v3rb, zik, uksz
Sweden Sweden - fox, prozac, spartie, zyvve
