Best build quality mouse (12 comments)
Posted by aerial @ 14:17 CST, 9 March 2012 - iMsg
It is known what mice have flawless sensors, but I wonder about pure build quality. What you guys think, what mouse has best build quality, not counting sensor. By build quality I mean overall impression, shell, feel of buttons, scroll, weight, quality of materials.
To give example, as much as wmo has good sensor, shape and weight, it feels cheap (it is cheap), scroll is pretty bad ect.
Some expensive mice also don't feel quite right when it comes to quality, for example g9/g9x, grips tend to rattle, you would expect better build quality for the price.

Razer rubber coating - removal (41 comments)
Posted by aerial @ 10:18 CDT, 28 April 2010 - iMsg
Rubber coating is used by pointing devices a lot, including razer mouses. Older ones only on buttons, but all new have entire shell covered with it.
Problem is it wears out, for some users even after a couple of months. My question is, if anyone here tried to remove it? I've googled some results before. Someone suggested nail polish remover, that it removes paint easily. It seems that under that layer, there is normal glossy plastic surface. I've managed to find only two examples:

Salmosa:

I'm looking for safe method, that wont damage mouse shell. I'm using salmosa, after ~1,5 year of usage, nasty polished/worn areas appeard where fingers press buttons.

Razer Orochi (1 comment)

There is no thread about this mouse, probably because it is overpriced razer and it is wireless. But what interested me is the shape, something like smaller salmosa/abyssus with side buttons. It has 4k dpi laser sensor, but if we are fairly high sens players most of laser sensors will work and there is no problem with acceleration/maximum speed. It can be also used with wire so should avoid battery save mode delay issues. Most interesting about this mouse is shape, some people might find it interesting.

Question is, if anyone tried it?
