After a long time, the
Rocket Arena 1.80 Final version of this famous mod is now available. For all the Rocket Jumpers out there here are tweaked maps, bug fixing and new features.
This version is based on the opensource engine
ioQuake3, a progressive q3 engine built with OpenAL sound. RA3 use now its own .exe file to start, that contains a reference to a standalone version in the future. Also the path to config files and screenshots has changed because of ioQuake3.

You need to create a new folder with a copy of your updated baseq3 folder.
Quick way to Install
The new good things are:
- Coach Support
- Picture in Picture Window System (multiscreen not only for coach)
- Map Fixing (some fix tested on the Beta2-Mappack)
- Smoke Trails can be colored by the currently set team colors
- Smooth progressive movement through ioQuake3 engine
- Hitsounds on/off function
- Option to change the roundlimit time
new full ChangeLog
Some help is also available at the
chaosbunnies site. For example you found there a new file that could reduce laggs and improve performance, a new readme and helping commands.

Magnus "
fox" Olsson was one of the most famous quakers attending this
DreamHack Winter 2008. He managed to achieve the biggest combined prize money in the Quake Forever tournaments with the 3rd rank in VQ3 and the 1st in CPM, earning him a total of 1 050€ and 575€ worth of products.
After his games, he found some minutes to answer my questions.

The 1.8 version of the famous mod rocket arena for quake 3 is not done yet. But, until it will be, we will be able to test the beta maps.
The website chaosbunnies.de has released a pack with the maps and scripts which allow you to switch between the map versions.
To install the mappack, download and extract it on your quake 3 directory
If you want to join a server with the new beta maps, execute the mappack-beta script (.bat on windows; .sh on linux).
If you want to join a server with the classic maps (the 1.76 ones), execute the mappack-normal script (.bat on windows; .sh on linux).
The scripts just rename the maps.
Here, some servers with the new mappack:

If you provide other mirrors or other servers with the mappack, write me an iMsg or write it on the comments.

After
s2o - showtime and
cutting classes, mdoo releases
Playq3. It isn't about frags, tricks or any in-eyes actions but troll.
"With the come back of Quake 3 at the ESWC, the controversy between quakers and cser is in dispute. Thus, Mdoo and Darkspirit enjoyed direct a quaker and a cser dealing with their respective game. You will recognize as the quaker and as the cser, the talented, gorgeous, magnificent and amazing: CREVARDO!! (aka crv)"
Initially, it was only in French but I contacted mdoo in order to write subtitles (thanks to NaMoUr and punee) for your own entertainment =)
