ts, vent or mumble? (86 comments)
Posted by debil.red @ 16:07 CST, 9 January 2010 - iMsg
since new versions of teamspeak and mumble has been
released lately i wonder what voip you prefere to use?

my personal preference is

1. mumble (low latency)
2. ventrilo 3 (best quality)
3. ventrilo 2.1 (most used)

here is a nice test of delay in a couple of voips

dpi hertz and bufferoverflow (5 comments)
Posted by debil.red @ 06:30 CDT, 6 August 2008 - iMsg
i have been searching information about this topic but i cant find any answeres to it.

if i play with high hertz and high dpi on a mouse with low sens there is going to be bufferoverflow in the quake engine becouse it only have a 16 bit buffer, correct?

what if i play with lower dpi and the same hertz and higher speed? will the buffer stay under control?

imagine this scenario. im playing a game at 1280x1024, 1800 dpi and sens 2.00. il try to lower my dpi to 900 and higher the sens to 4.00. it would feel the same ingame or am i wrong?

im asking you becouse i did the above and feelt that the mouse was a little bit diffrent in speed. i thought that would be strange since the dubble sens ingame should have made it equal to the previous dpi setting. im playing a game based on the unreal2k4 engine.

windows xp fundamentals, heard about it? (22 comments)

i just read this article http://www.bill-mcminn.com/techreview/winflp.html
Windows Fundamentals has found a cult following with a few gamers who take less than legal methods to obtain their copies. It is believed that because having an operating system that uses less RAM and CPU cycles makes high end games run better.
anyone got experience with this os? im getting a copy of it myself right as we speak so im going to try it out. but it looks promising with the removal of bloat from xp.

iiyama vs iiyama monitor, is this thrue? (4 comments)
Posted by debil.red @ 19:39 CDT, 9 July 2008 - iMsg
im thinkin of buying a iiyama E2201W-B2 monitor. i look at the comparision on this site

http://www.digitalversus.com/duels.php?ty=6&a...&ph=12

is it just something wrong with that site or why does the -B2 edition have so much more delay? strange since the only thing that setts them appart is the dynamic contrast.

maybe someone on this forum has the E2201W-B2 and can do the "clone-crt-thingy" test to see if its really thrue?

it started a couple of days ago when i installed this update http://debil-gaming.com/images/razer.jpg apperently its razers drivers downloadabel thru windows update.

suddenly my mouse feelt strange. i was not sure it was some kind of placebo so i installed the razer drivers that i found on razersupport.com. still the mouse feelt screwed. so i tryed to install a firmware update to my mouse. still the mouse was screwed.

i dubbel checked all my settings in windows. mouse accel was off. mouse hertz was the correct 500. checked all the graphic card settings. but i didnt find something that was wrong.

so i reinstalled windows and my mouse was now back to normal.

am i just crazy or does the razer drivers add some delay/lag/accel? the mouse i was using is a razer deathadder.

is cod4 good for competition? (8 comments)
Posted by debil.red @ 11:08 CST, 2 March 2008 - iMsg
ok im not sure if this is the correct forum to post this but i want other players like quake and ut players to give theire opinion not the hardcore cod fans.

is cod4 a good competition game? personaly i think its something about the aim that really is annoying. maybe its the use of ironsight that bothers me? or maybe the game really lacks aiming skill?
