q3supremacymod has arrived in q3 (14 comments)

I have created a continuation mod to q3 from what i have done in q4. Its still a work in progress not fully final, but runs on the server stable. www.q4supremacymod.com/q3supremacy.zip is the download. The server ip is 72.9.109.76:27960.

I have created an updated version of this mod. Still a work in progress of course but its stable and doesnt crash. Linux servers can run the mod--but the special features will not work--I will release appropriate files soon. However, on a windows server people with linux and apple can join and use all the features. The new version can be downloaded HERE

For those of you who want an easy to run packaged version of this mod (I will make an installer very soon) you can download it HERE

the above installer has .bat files (looks like gear box icons). You can right-click and then send to desktop to create a shortcut. then all you have to do is click the mode you want and wala!! You can start all 4 or 3 or 2 or just one. the first one will have port #28004 the second will have a port #28005 soon. Each mode has its own config that is stored in server_configs directory.
Now, if you dont have your quake installed on C:\ directory--right-click on the .bat files and correct the path that is written after +set fs_savepath "here" most will use drive C but if its another letter then just change the letter or folder then change folder and click save and close and you're done.
I will have the installer which will have these configs editable from all programs list and repairable from add/remove programs probably by this weekend.

This version goes into a directory called "q4smpro" not q4supremacy one.

New features:
1) Alternate fire on almost all the weapons (depending on gamemode that is served).
2) Much better air physics. You can dodge rockets much better and the railjump is so much more responsive than in the older version.
3) Much much better rail and hits--you do not have to lead nearly as much---I plan on lowering the damage later due to the hitscans now owning in this mod.
4) Hitscounds are much improved---armor hits are high toned and when the player runs out of armor the sound is distinctly different--this gives you the knowledge of where a person is at in health.
5) Much much more to be written ina readme later.


I will not include all the modes from my older version--these are the modes that are now converted:

I have reduced the speed back to 320ups sicne the new adjustments have really upped the speed and give the player much better ability at dodging rockets. The air control and the slides are in my humble opinion very fun and help balance out the rocketspam---however admittedly the rail and shaft is a bit overtaken which I will later lower the damage and firerate to help balance it out since the rail seems to be easier than the 1.3 ( I DID NOT ADJUST ANY MODEL SIZES OR HITBOXES).

New features added:
Alternate fire currently 19 different modes.
Better air control
slides are better.
weapons are a lot more responsive.
q4smpro is the name of the mod directory NOT q4supremacy.

Still same principle the gamemodes are in separate pk4s as described below. People with linux and mac can play the mod, but only windows at the current time can host the mod to have the additional features. If linux server hosts it wont have the special features like the movement and alt fire--but will run.


For those of you who have never heard of it, the Q4SupremacyMod is a mod that has many modes in it. It brings literally faster movement---not the appearance of faster movement---the speeds for all weapons are 380ups and for railz instagib modes 405ups. Default being 320 in base and q4max.

This mod uses the stock dll (now I have some versions with my own custom dll for air control and spiderman mode but I havent released that).

Each mode is only about 2mb, i treat each individual mode in one pk4 file, so if you are serving up the mod just leave the last pak in there and that is the one that will be served. You can edit your config from the all programs list too.

I have the most unique railz and rockets of any mod in q4, railz that ricochet, the jump rail that shoots you really high, push railgun that pushes the enemy far, gladiator railgun ever since 1.2 patch, the use of penetrate, a linger railgun, green modeled rails. Rockets, there is a mode with 10 different type of rocketlaunchers that are different. Too much to explain here.

As stated many times, my ICTF server is one of the most popular CTF servers and has never been empty since the 1.2 patch. It has glowskins that are blue and red with the flags blue and red---the colors are vivid--its not a blue that you have a hard tim eseeing, but if you check the videos you will see for yourself.

People, I would love to see demos from the players who have played this. I dont want any demos from other mods though.

to succesffully record an ingame server demo that you are on:
type in console:

to start demo:
recordNetDemo (name)

stop the demo:
stopNetDemo

Now, in q4supremacy fodler there will be a folder named "demos" to play the demo:
playNetDemo (name or hit tab for autocomplete then press enter)

So, if you want to make a demo called "crazy railmaster"

recordNetDemo crazyrailmaster (hit enter)
stopNetDemo (hit enter)

When you are not in a server, you can tab thorugh the names and see them appear. I would really like to see some from other people than just me lol. Plus, its a real good way to show me bugs you are talking about to if you find issues. I am pretty infamous myself at not proofreading what I type online lol so noone will find me as the grammar teacher, so dont worry lol.

HUGE clairification needed: Tehre is a rumor going around that q4supremacymod is based in GTR---that is NOT true. I made everything that is in this mod with no other content other than id's or ravens. Wikipedia listed -gtr after my mod and I corrected it many times even after being called a vandal--but i am the author of this mod and noone else contributed code to it. More than a few people have stated that gtr is q4supremacymod and that is not true. Back in the day fragfestmod in 1.2 or 1.3---I was suggested to use GTR as a base by bandit--I agreed, but--I kept it separate and none of the gtr came into my separate mod that changed from fragfestmod to q4supremacymod. I dont know how wikipedia listed my mod as Q4supremacyMod-GTR but Irepeatively edited out because its not true. I think it was just a confusion about the ported version which is inside of gtr--which I dont serve up or distribute. I did edit the -GTR name after my mod--but it kept being added back and i was then banned for being a vandal :P lol. So the name gtr got stuck.

Again, I do not think the gtr team perported the idea that they founded the code for my mod so I am not under that impression. Itw as just stated on the live broaqdcast television that q4supremacymod comes from gtr--and I just want to clarify I made my mod :P And, it has been running CONSECUTIVELY for more than 2.25 years.
