QuakeCon® have announced another eight players for the Intel® QUAKE LIVE Duel Masters Invitational, this time featuring three Canadians, three Americans, a Portuguese and Frenchman.
From Europe we will see ins and link1n. While for ins it will be his first trip to QuakeCon, l1nkin has made the journey several times. While he has achieved no top placement in duel, he has various high rankings in the team disciplines.
From North America we will also see sparks, id_, griffin, carnage, cl0ck and cha0ticz! The latter has two fifth places at QuakeCon, in Quake 3, while griffin even managed to grab a third place in 2008.
Eight more players have been invited to QuakeCon® 2014's Intel® QUAKE LIVE Duel Masters Invitational, with more European and American players joining the list!
Chance, dkt, whaz and ZorakWar will all be representing the USA at QuakeCon this year, joining an already strong list of Americans attending this year. Last year's edition saw strong placements of both chance and dkt, who came 5-6th and 7-8th respectably, while the year before both ended up on a 5-8th place.
The Europeans this year coming over are the Benelux duo dem0n and Silencep, Frenchman winz and Sweden's Spart1e. Of the quartet, Spart1e is the only one who previously took part in a duel tournament at QuakeCon. His highlight was a second place in 2009 and fourth in 2010.
QuakeCon® 2014 is set to be a great spectacle, with FACEIT providing live coverage and ddk and Zoot on the mic to provide commentary. But of course most of the show will come from the players!
The Intel® QUAKE LIVE Duel Masters Invitational will feature a stunning $20,000 in prizes and the player line-up is shaping up to be nothing but impressive. The first eight invited players are DaHanG, ZeRo4 and Rapha, representing the United States, while from all the way from the South we have the Doomsd4y, representing Argentina.
Europe will send a strong delegation this year as well, with the first names to be invited being evil, tox, as well as strenx, who is coming out of retirement specially for QuakeCon, and recent FACEIT Spring Champion and DreamHack victor, Cypher.
The line-up features several QuakeCon champions, with tox taking two duel titles, while ZeRo4, Cypher and rapha all have three duel trophies. This totals to eleven golden medals, excluding all of the team achievements!
Last year saw a European versus American final, in evil versus Rapha. In the end, the American bagged the win after a tense final. Who will take it all the way this year? Will the Europeans prove the strongest, or will the Americans defend their crown?
FACEIT will be returning to QuakeCon® to broadcast the QUAKE LIVE® tournaments.
Last year, QuakeCon saw great success, with top players from Europe and North America gathering for an amazing event and a strong viewership. This year is shaping up to be even better, with several Europeans looking to make their way over again. QuakeCon 2014 is scheduled for 17-20 July, with $40,000 in cash prizes between the Intel® QUAKE LIVE Duel Masters Invitational and PCPartPicker QUAKE LIVE CTF Open championships!
FACEIT TV is happy to return to work with id Software, to bring you the best games live on Twitch! Daniel "ddk" Kapadia and Xavier "Zoot" Dhorne will also make their way over to Dallas, USA, to act as your hosts, and will be joined by several on-site guests over the duration of the event.
To prepare you for the epicness of QuakeCon, FACEIT will be running several Road 2 QuakeCon tournaments again. Stay tuned for further news regarding this!

Hi guys,
With the new year coming in, I wanted to ask further feedback to improve the FACEIT platform, cups and stream.
Recent months we haven't seen attendance in QL cups on the platform and it's something we really need to change. I want to know what you would like to see added, changed, removed, etc. from our side, in order for you to make you play on FACEIT.
What do you think about the current cups, the schedule for the points cups, the prizes you can win, the map pools, the premium services, and so on.
Let me know! We still love Quake and we want to make it even better than it is.

So, lots of people have been asking me the Summer Season standings. I'm sorry for the confusion, as the page on our platform is incorrect (will get it corrected asap).
Here is an overview of the standings thus far. There is only one cup left to go (15 Sept), with the finale following on the 29th. Lots of players still have a shot.
Edit: For some reason I forgot Cypher.. Edit 2: Fixed the rankings. Got messed up somehow. Should all be correct now though! Edit 3: The top 8 for the Summer Season Finale are known! Check the bold names. They still have to be confirmed to be attending.

Last week we had a different final than we have come to use in the North America Sunday Cups. ZeRo4 managed to beat rapha to head into the final, where he met DaHanG. The latter managed to win in the end though. You can sign up for the Sunday Summer Cup #2 already, which will start at 12:00 CST.
Unfortunately we or our third party service provider could not fix the issues in time. We have decided to cancel the cup. We apologies to the players and spectators we have dedicated their day to playing and watching FACEIT. We will be back next week with something special to make up for it. Again, we are truly sorry.
The reason the platform was down all throughout the day was because one of the third party services we use, Apigee, has been having issues. Several websites besides FACEIT have also been down or having trouble due to this.
What Apigee does and the reason we use it is that it monitors API traffic to protect our API from external attack, and to provide only one URL for calling the platform, regarding where the services really are.
In the case that their issue is not resolved in time, we can avoid using this service and changing the dns, but it will take a lot of time to update dns all over the world.
Thanks for your understanding so far, and we will keep bugging Apigee to solve their problems.

After many months of supporting Quake Live, we had much feedback that you wanted more, bigger and better. We have worked hard to make this happen. What does this mean? More tournaments, more prizes, and more fun.
We will be hosting a minimum of eight FACEIT Points Tournaments a day starting coming Monday. In these tournaments you will be able to win points. After you have gathered a certain amount of FACEIT Points you will be able to exchange these points for prizes in our new Shop, such as hardware, but also special prizes such as a holiday in Andora, Stermy's place of birth, or a FACEIT branded Fiat 500 (yes, a real car!).
These FACEIT Points Tournaments are free to join up to four times per month. The flagship tournaments such as the Sunday Cups and Pick Up Games are still open for everyone and do not count towards the four monthly tournaments.
If you want to play more, you can upgrade your account to Unlimited or Premium. Unlimited will give you access to as many FACEIT Points Tournaments as you wish, while you can play in one Premium Tournament per month. Besides this, you will receive a badge on your profile, stating you as a "Supporter" of FACEIT. This all for as low as Ł2.99 per month.
Premium users will have all services available to them for as low as Ł5.99 per month. While they get all that Free and Unlimited users receive, they will be able to play in an unlimited amount of Premium Tournaments.
