Supraball hits F2P on Steam! (22 comments)
Posted by silw @ 19:37 CDT, 6 September 2017 - iMsg
Hey, guys!

I want to announce that we reached our F2P Early Acces Launch on Steam with our indie title "Supraball".

Since my last post a couple of years ago, we worked hard to make progress on the game and implement new content to make it more fun to play.

Currently, we can offer ~400+ cosmetic items, different maps, an extended tutorial and matchmaking for solo-queue or team-queue with your friends.
We try to establish a solid player base in order to start the first ranked-season and/or league-season, soon.

Feel free to give it a try!
I am looking forward to your feedback!

Supraball: now has free alpha out! (140 comments)
Posted by silw @ 04:56 CDT, 7 May 2014 - iMsg

Supraball is the official successor of the infamous "Deathball", a Mod for Unreal Tournament 2003/4 that first came out in 2002 and won plenty of awards, but in most people's eyes it was always "just a mod". We fixed that problem now.

Supraball is an eSports title, that creates a new genre. It's a First Person Sports Game that feels pretty much like football without being football.

Since i am a Quaker by myself, i would really like to know what you guys think about it, and how the Quake community reacts to something that's completely different to ArenaFPS.

Maybe you want to check it out, please share your thoughts. I already mentioned it's an alpha-version, so we need your input!

Greetings

QL thrown out of german EPS (68 comments)
Posted by silw @ 18:41 CST, 28 November 2010 - iMsg
This topic is aimed for german quake players.

I know this is an international page but i hope to reach a lot more people than i already did, and i think it might be interesting how QuakeLive is treatened

Long story short:
The ESL decided to stop the german EPS for QuakeLive after 2 Seasons. They say QuakeLive isnt interesting to viewers and replaced it with games like Trackmania.

The players and the german community feels mistreatened, because it was the ESL that decided to put the EMS playdays exactly on the same time like the EPS playdays. So they rarely showed the EPS games on ESL-TV.
Besides that they decided to give Quakelive only one IFNG in this season and they are showing QL on the EPS FINALS for only 30 minutes.
No wonder you dont get any viewers if you dont show shit eh?

In the meanwhile they didn't notice that the german scene is growing steadily. We organised weekling tournaments like the ESL Knockout Series, aimed for the non-EPS players, or the EAS Invitational Tournaments
with the best EAS players fighting for that title.
It was streamed by teamoxid.tv on high-quality streams,and everything has been asolutely free.

By removing the EPS they have instantly cut off these weekly tournaments.

Now we are trying to organise our own league, trying to keep it as close as possible to the EPS-EAS system to have as less changes as possible.
We are trying to have a prizepool developed by a voluntarily buy-in system for the players, and an additional prizepool by charitable donations.

If you've got a rawr interest into this topic, feel free to comment it.

setting the menu-grid to 800-600 (2 comments)
Posted by silw @ 06:03 CDT, 23 September 2010 - iMsg
hey there,
i am playing with a 800-600 resolution.
therefor i tried so change the menu-grid resolution from 640-480 to 800-600.
i am using a selfmade crosshhair with a positioning based on the 640-480 grid, and i am not happy with the adaption to 800-600.
it happens that the crosshair is not 100% as accurate on thhe middle of the screen as i want it to be.
with an ingame-resolution of 640-480 everythhing is fine.

now the question:

is there a way to set my menu-grid resolution to 800-600 somehow?
changing the values in the crosshair-script doesnt have any effect.

}

// crosshair

menuDef {
name "customxhair"
visible 1
rect 319 239 640 480

itemDef {
visible 1
rect 0 0 3 3
style WINDOW_STYLE_FILLED
backcolor 0 0 0 1
}

itemDef {
visible 1
rect 1 1 1 1
style WINDOW_STYLE_FILLED
backcolor 1 1 1 1

thx for your help
