Hoonymode is a novel form of 1v1 play, loosely based on tennis rules.
All in-game behaviour (weapons, physics, items, etc) remains the same
as standard DM: the change is in how the game progresses from one frag
to the next.
During warmup, two spawnpoints are chosen by the players. One will
typically be a "stronger" spawn and the other "weaker". When the game
begins, these are where the players will spawn, with the strong spawn
considered the equivalent of having the "serve".
Each player death (regardless of source, i.e. a suicide is considered
a kill for the opponent) is treated as a distinct point. After a point
is scored, play does not continue as in DM: instead, the players and
the arena are reset, and a new point is contested for. Players switch
spawnpoints at this time, so the player who had the weak spawn for the
previous point now has the strong one, effecting a change of serve.
Players are given a few seconds between points to reconsider strategies
etc.
Games are played to a point limit, with the clock not being a factor.
A player must reach that limit and be at least two points clear of
his opponent to win, i.e. in a 5-point game, 5-4 is a lead not a win:
the player still needs another point to clinch it.
Implementation Specifics:
Players claim a spawnpoint by moving near it and using the spawn
command (via console/bind/etc).
Referees can choose spawnpoints for players by using "spawn <pid>"
(Players can also use this when playing bots).
Players are not FORCED to choose a spawnpoint: spawns will be random (not
recommended).

Hello everyone! Perhaps some of you have allready found out (some of you have not) that movement is a big part of quake skill set any good player should possess. Moving across the map faster than your opponent allows you to take advantage in positioning, resources and overall map control which make final victory much easier. Not only because of that we decided to make live cpm movement guide on stream with nekon and cpm tricking legend mew. Although it is intended for cpma, basic principles can be applied in any "strafe/aircontrol" game (QL, QW, etc.). The guide will try to cover all possible aspects of cpma movement like strafe theory, circle jumps, air strafes, plasma jumps, rocket jumps, etc. It is going to be LIVE streamed guide and even you can become a part of it - just join twitch chat and ask whatever you want to know about quake 3 movement (like I would like to know why the hell is someone making turns with forward button pushed?!). If you are interested, turn on BunnyHopTV on Sunday 9th of February at 20:00 CET and watch!
Moves Unlimited is a trickjump movie I made with my friend CheZDa. We do a bunch of team tricks in it as well as your standard solo tricks.

With some delay we bring you what's left after Promode Masters Cup. Because of lineup and $1500 price money we could see some really exceptional performances from the best quake/promode players. At the end gaiia with unmistakable aim, movement and mind took the title! 2nd place goes to WB winner memphis and the third to our next president gellehsak. Complete results, all the demos I could gather as well as VODs are listed bellow. If you have any more demos and stuff, please don't hesitate and put it in comments. Thanks to everyone involved! And don't forget! PLAY MORE PROMODE!!!
We would like to thank metal for money he put into this, nekon and DDK for casting, dai and seif for running GTV, promode.ru crew, admins and everyone else involved. Thank you!
P.S.: I think we can expect some short fragmovie from this
