Mousepads that work with the Abyssus (244 comments)
Posted by MikeHaggarKJ @ 19:02 CDT, 17 May 2010 - iMsg
I know there's been many threads about this, but those have just been "my abyssus doesnt work on qck+ help plox". In this thread I thought we could make a list of mousepads that it does and does not work on. So people with abyssus and a bunch of mousepads, please help out!
I have want to have very high standards for this list. Dont post and say that a mousepad is OK if it only works in certain angles and/or you need to rotate it to make it work or some stuff like that. I only want mousepads that work flawlessly in this list.
Off course if you have a pad that DOES NOT work I'd appreciate if you'd post and confirm that it doesn't work with that particalur pad.

So far we got:

Works on:
Razer Goliathus SPEED: on mine it jitters on a few spots in VERY SPECIFIC ANGLES but 99% of the time it works perfectly
Razer destructor: works
Allsop Raindrop XL: Ive heard people say that it works on this, but could more people confirm?
Func F30R: works
fUnc sUrface Cloth Pad: works
Qpad Heaton XL: works
Qpad CT: works
SteelSeries I-2: skips instantly if addition feet is applied on top of standard ones. otherwise: perfect
Everglide Titan Monstermat Black: Minor jittering in certain angles but usually works just fine
Roccat Taito: works
Corepad Magna Blue: works

Does not work:
QCK+: cursor jitters like mad and drags to the left in most angles. only works in very specific angles.
Corepad C1: Jitters in certain angles
Func C-series: Jitters in certain angles
Puretrak Talent: Jitters in certain angles
Razer Goliathus CONTROL: Jitters in X-axis
Qpad UC: Does not work
Steelseries SP: Jitters alot

Thanks/props to all the people contributing!

hotkey to change windows sensitivity (15 comments)
Posted by MikeHaggarKJ @ 19:47 CDT, 5 May 2010 - iMsg
Does anyone know of a way to change the windows sensitivity with the click of a button? like some hotkey program?
Ive been using the wmo lately and 400 dpi@6/11 is to low for general desktop usage. but having it @ 6/11 is necessary for precision in some games without raw input support, so I'd like to be able to change between 11/11 and 6/11 sensitivity with the click of a button.

ive googled a bit without much luck, no smartass ltmgtfy links please.

Thanks in advance :)

mouse prediction (21 comments)
Posted by MikeHaggarKJ @ 20:07 CDT, 4 May 2010 - iMsg
Do you guys feel mouse prediction affects your aim?
Thing is, I decided to buy a salmosa and wmo and start playing with a bit higher sensitivity: 30cm/360 instead of 40cm/360 (to not reach neg accel speeds with wmo). i used an mx518 before.
This is with plans to choose whichever Im the most happy with & wmo is so cheap anyway so why not buy it.

Now as most of you know, salmosa has prediction and wmo doesnt. and now while I can certainly FEEL (and see) the difference between having it and not, I also can't say that it really affects my aim. I can also FEEL the difference between 400 and 4000 dpi that doesn't mean it affects my aim (even if cm/360 is the same ofc).

I realize that wether or not prediction affects aim can be affected by sensitivity, how you use the mouse etc. So I'm genuinely curious: do you feel that it affects your aim?

Corepad C1 (5 comments)

Im very interested in Corepad C1 XXL due to its size, but I cant find any useful reviews anywhere. Does anyone have experience with it? How's the glide?
I prefer cloth pads with very low friction

if anyone knows of other mousepads of the same size that'd be great.

Razer salmosa (49 comments)

Ive been thinking about picking this mouse up. I have some concerns about it however that id appreciate if an owner of the mouse could answer:
The max perfect control speed. Is it as high as that of the deathadder? Does it ever skip? (i realize the performance should be identical to da since its supposed to have the same sensor, but ive heard the db3g skips which is also supposed to have the same sensor :\)
The prediction. I can live with it, but I've heard its worse with the salmosa then many other mice (ie itll snap your movements into a straight line even if your actual movement is quite a few degrees away from a straight line). is this true?

Anyone used this mouse? Looks comfortable and it's supposedly light. But how is the max perfect control speed and malfunction speed?

Does Bad Company 2 have mouse lag? (3 comments)

This question is for people who bought Bad Company 2 only.
I've heard that it has a bunch of mouselag and forced mouse smoothing. Is this true?

MX518 v2 performance? (39 comments)

How's the performance of the second version of the mx518? (the one with 1800 dpi and big mousefeet as opposed to 1600 dpi and small mousefeet)

I have the first version, but I'm curious how the second one holds up. Specifically in terms of max perfect control speed and malfunction/failure/skipping speed. Is anybody able to make it malfunction? How fast can you move it before you get negative accel?

Is it possible to make this mouse lighter? As in opening it up and removing something unecessary or changing something else?

Does the A4tech X7 X-710BF have predictn (4 comments)

Seems to do really well here, I dont think ill reach the malfunction speed anytime in game. 1000 DPI is more then enough for me.

Only two things I need to know before I run out and buy this mouse:
Does it have prediction?
What does it weigh?

Basically I want something that holds my cable like this device does:

Except that I dont need the USB hub, silly lights or high price.

Anyone know of something that holds your cable in place like that?
