so, does anyone know how to change these, if you want to play a quick round of vql race for example?

now it would start with pql physics, and nothing else you can set there, when you start a match.

BTW.:
custom maps are downloaded to ...steam\steamapps\workshop\content\"xxxxxxxxxx"\"xxxxxxxxxx"

to play them offline with "Start Match", you have to copy the included *.pk3 files to
...steam\steamapps\common\quake live\baseq3

HUD: cg_drawitempickups (3 comments)

hey,
do any of you HUD experts know, if you can move the place where "cg_drawitempickups" is shown?
would be handy, if it was shown right next to the crosshair. =)

dominant eye (48 comments)

i was just thinking, if you should place the monitor on your desk so that the crossair ingame lines up with your dominant eye(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3e2jGixAhCA), rather than having the screen 100 percent centered.
opinions? :D

before you start your usual playing:

-start enotus mousetest(https://www.dropbox.com/s/0y9flaallw8r145/MouseTest.rar)
-move the mouse until it roughly reaches the desired DPI of your mouse under "Resolution"
-click startbutton under "Speed"
-begin playing

after you have finished, post the "X.XX m/s" result.

money quake (36 comments)

wouldn't it be exciting, if could somehow play for money?

if the ELO points you lose or win were actually real money? :D

you could play in different limits.

that would bring the competition to a new level.

RSI, a different approach (21 comments)
Posted by thuNDa @ 11:56 CST, 13 November 2013 - iMsg
I remember a RSI thread from "jum8o".

he had RSI problems, then he had to go to army for one year or so, so he was forced to take a break from playing.
when he came back and played again, his RSI came back immediately.

in my case, i had problems for a long time(years) finding the right position for my keyboard(only wrist on table, whole forearm on table, half forearm on table and so on).
my forearm felt kinda numb and discomfortably after some time of playing.
only recently, after checking different muscles for triggerpoints described in the triggerpointbook, i worked on the pec. maj. and felt how it projected in the forearm.

after the first massages, the muscle was swollen so much that it looked like i would using roids. :D
only on my otherwise weak left side tho.

TRIGGERPOINTS !!!

"tennis elbow", "carpal tunnel syndrome" and stuff like that...

can be caused, or are only caused(like it's written in the book i'm reading http://www.amazon.com/Trigger-Point-Therapy-W...amp;sr=1-2 ) by triggerpoints.

[UNDER CONSTRUCTION]

too lazy, somebody take over plz. :p

my main point is though, it doesn't have to be the arm itself which causes pain and numbness in it while playing too much, the pain can also come from triggerpoints in the pectoralis maj. and min. and the latissimus dorsi, and other muscles which then project the pain to the arm.

you can stretch the arm and hand as much as you want, the pain will remain.

here are some examples http://www.triggerpoints.net/symptoms-arms-hands.htm

[ergomomic advise]
top of monitor even lower than eyes, because it's more relaxing for the eyes to look down.
the eyes doesn't dry out so soon too, because when looking down, they aren't as wide open(try yourself).

[exercise advise]
"do u even lift!?"
i do, but i'd rather didn't do anything at all, then to do it wrong and unbalanced for so long.
alot of my personal RSI(and overall) related triggerpoint problems, come from benchpress and chinups.

neat programm for W-LAN users (7 comments)
Posted by thuNDa @ 10:34 CST, 6 November 2013 - iMsg
http://download.cnet.com/inSSIDer/3000-18508_4-10848357.html

this program shows the signal quality(dBm) and if your w-lan is interfering with other w-lans near by.
if you have a movable antenna, you can put it at the best place by trying and watching how the dBm changes.

got mine from -55dBm to -41dBm by just putting the antenna a few centimetres to a different place.

edit: so if i understand it correctly, then you can play with 144hz, having v-sync disabled but still no tearing.

5 Kinzuadder for sale (131 comments)
Posted by thuNDa @ 08:47 CDT, 5 May 2011 - iMsg
As im very happy with mine for over a month(not once switched back to my DA), while i thought i never find a mouse who fits me better than my Deathadder, i wanted to build some more(4 from bulk Kinzu, 1 from retail Kinzu).

http://thunda.imgur.com/kinzuadder2

Features:

-Deathadder 3G (1800DPI) main-PCB with IR-LED
-Omron D2F-01FL switches for mainbuttons which are more responsive than the original TTC-switches and have a shorter travel until they activate the click
http://i.imgur.com/2E6mk.jpg
-former DPI change button on top now working as Mouse4 or whatever you want to bind to it via razer driver
-Thin USB-cable from Deathadder
-Taped for low Lift Off Distance
-one set of unapplied Corepad Teflon mousefeet for Kinzu (orignal feet applied)

bulkversion (without grey finish and black scrollwheel) = 65€ SOLD!!!
http://i.imgur.com/oDgPf.jpg]
retailversion with original box(with grey finish and white scrollwheel) = 75€ SOLD!!!
http://i.imgur.com/KfV2F.jpg

payment via Paypal
shippment via DHL (worstcase 15,90€ to places oversea within insurrance)

All mice have already been testet on desktop and ingame and meet my high requirements, otherwise i wouldn't sell them.

EDIT: Only one without interest

Edit: all mice are sold

Mechanical-Keyboard improvement (41 comments)
Posted by thuNDa @ 15:54 CDT, 25 April 2011 - iMsg
Mechanical keyboards with cherry switches are hyped for gaming nowadays, but there are two main issues for my liking:
noise and keytravel

they can be pretty annoying loud while playing, and even tho it's enough to press them only about 2mm down to register the keypress, you press them often enough all the way down while you play, in the heat of the battle anyway.

Here is the solution, which makes getting used to mechanical switches obsolete too:

-Take an old cheap shit rubberdome keyboard
-open it up and take the rubberdome layer out
http://i.imgur.com/PPF7B.jpg
-take a scissor and cut out the rubberdomes
http://i.imgur.com/HlY9Z.jpg
-make a hole in the middle of it, and cut everything away but the most stable top of it
http://i.imgur.com/4n1hr.jpg
-now just put that ring of rubber inside of the keycap of ur mechanical board, and put the cap back on the switch
http://i.imgur.com/7p8SE.jpg

DONE

Now the keytravel is only about half the way, and its alot quiter too.

Abyssus "mod" (2 comments)
Posted by thuNDa @ 08:23 CST, 2 March 2011 - iMsg
After almost giving up on that mouse, because i couldn't get used to the shape and the grip ( wasn't even using it for some weeks), i gave it a last try with sticking rubber sides to it, i actually bought for my Deathadder. After sanding those rubber things a bit, to make them rougher, the grip couldn't be better and it feels more comfortable also due to the wider shell.

Now it feels really awesome, and I didn't even need to get used to it coming from the Deathadder, but hit at least the same acc. (no, even better).

http://www.imagebanana.com/album/88i3nvdd/

There u can also see, how i taped the sensor for lower LOD.

And this is the material i used for the sides:

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&...K:MEWNX:IT

It is very easy to cut out with a scissor and sticks from itself.

keyboards of the pro's (104 comments)
Posted by thuNDa @ 10:09 CDT, 24 August 2010 - iMsg
While there r thousands threads about their mouses and sensitivties, i wonder if anyone know more about the keyboards they use.
All talking about mechanical keys, but if they r better than usual keys, many pro's should use them, no?
