Can't fine-tune sensitivity. What FOV do I need? (11 comments)
Posted by TheCat @ 08:22 CDT, 12 July 2017 - iMsg
I want the sensitivity to feel the same as in QL in order to preserve muscle memory, but it seems to only change in steps of 0.25. 1.25 is too low, 1.50 is too high. The only solution that comes to mind is to use either 1.25 or 1.50 and change the FOV so that the distance I need to move my mouse to move my view one screen is the same in both games.

From my QL CFG:
seta m_cpi "800"
seta cg_fov "100"
seta sensitivity "9" (approx 1.3 without m_cpi).

Anyone here who knows the math that could help me?

So, a post on the QL forums got me curious. This seemed like such an obvious idea that I figured someone must've made one already. Some googling proved me right.

Anyone tried one out?

Need an Artisan Raiden compatible mouse. (1 comment)

My Raiden XSOFT arrived today. The glide is absolutely epic. Somehow, even though it glides even better than the Hayate it doesn't feel slippery at all. I feel like I'm in perfect control even with fresh hyperglides.

The problem is that my Deathadder BE doesn't track very well on it. I was gonna wait for the Ninox Aurora before switching mice but my hand has been forced.

Anyway, some googling got me this compatibility list, which for some reason wasn't available on Artisan's homepage.

"Compatibility:
OK: G300 / Kinzu V2 / KANA / SENSEI / MX518 / EC1 / EC2
NG: WMO / IMO / IE 3.0 / G500 / AM / EC eVo / DRCTM03 / DRTCM15 / XAI
For the DeathAdder user: depends on a sensitivity. Most of high sensitivity may OK, but middle to low sensitivity may not work well."

I assume NG means "no good", and that probably rules out the Zowie FK, which would've been my first pick. I know the EC's are basically like the DA, but the DA is as heavy as a brick and I'd like something lighter.

I absolutely need the side buttons. I can't find good binds for all weapons without them.

ASUS G73JW-3DE 1080p 120hz Gaming Laptop (5 comments)

Looks pretty sweet to me. The few user reviews I've seen so far says it works quite well too, except of course that it's not powerful enough to handle 3D in 1080p in some newer graphics heavy games, but it looks like a great laptop for esports. Of course it's quite expensive. Xoticpc has it for $1,979.00 for the stock version with i7 740QM, 8 gigs of RAM, 1TB storage, blu-ray player and 3D glasses.
