what is this whole thing about raw input going directly to the mouse and not being affected by windows setting that everyone keeps on saying? how, if not by the operating system can a mouse get its values from if its not written in the operating system on how the mouse movement is translated? it has to be written some place doesnt it? i never understood raw input... isnt there a setting in the operating system that tells the mouse movement how to be translated other than the registry settings and the windows control panel applet?

usb dll? anyone care to explain... i always wondered about that. i know quake can override windows settings with in_mouse 2, but it has to get values from some place...

need some ideas for fabrics that would be good for great deal of friction and good traction for a mouse pad...

any mousepad i find on the market is all super slippery to me, even the ones that are advertised as high friction is nothing to what im looking for... thinking of making my own... just dont know what fabric to use, tried everything from straight jeans to cargo pants to table cloths... and what not... all slippery and some of it doesnt track good...

anyone in the same boat as me and has found a solution they are totally happy with... ive been playing for a loooooooooong time and i dont think i have ever been happy with a mousepad... i even started playing quake directly on my table and it was fine when it was ball mouse... just had to put some tape under the mouse and it gave me the stopping power i wanted.

now i got this fabric cloth pad that i sandpapered down so it got like this hairy surface which is really good for feeling your hands across it, and the mouse stops when i stop and doesnt travel like it does on all those slippery mosue pads, its just that its uneven and the tracking is not that great... i must be missing half my shots cause the tracking is kinda bumpy... thinking about finding something im totally happy with cause i cant find it in any shop...

Just wondering, can u tweak the shit out of bf3 and take all those fancy effects out, like picmip 10, no shadows bloom, simpleitems n stuff?

Got a wmo that keeps locking up, starts off with small freezes, like for a second, then a hard lock up and i have to plug it out and in again to get it going... is it a known problem? i have had like 5 of these mices abd this is the first one that it has happened on... had it for like 3 months with no probs, started all of a sudden in windows, happens more frequently as time goes by...

Whats up with windows 7 and intellipoint/type software not wanting to start the installation? Getting Error Codes 1625 and what nots... am i missing something? googled it and a bunch of other people have a lot of installation problems with the intelli crap and seems nobody has an answer... maybe i shut down a service i need?... anyone got some ideas?
