Haven't played in two weeks now I get this message for two days. What's happening?

Amazing players (like K1llsen and avek) can't keep with the grind of QLive because the returns are so small. These talents practice so much for the chance at such a small winnings purse. Then we give 30k to these morons in the audience just for being there? I am really upset, confused, and frankly just bewildered at the entire post-duel ceremony stuff.

It has come to my attention that TONS of steam games are reduced in price by 50% or more. I spend most my time in Quakelive, but am also interested in casual other steam games...

So can anyone recommend some hidden gems / obvious buys to someone who isn't fully aware of what to look for? Arma II looks great and is only 6 or 7 dollars currently. Also dayz has always looked so fun but now that the standalone is out I don't know if I should just wait on that.

I have a friend that plays PC games a lot - problem is they are MMO or similar games such as: Guild wars 2, and Torchlight 2 / Diablo. She wants to try some first person shooters and I KNOW that quake is way too big of a leap- she will get a bad taste regarding the FPS genre as a whole and I want to avoid that.

I was thinking we could play some Valve games such as TF2, Portal 2 coop, Half life 2 COOP (Synergy Mod), but that's all I could think of. Those games are FPS, but a lot easier and more forgiving for someone who isn't used to, say, strafe jumping... (Not to mention the qlive community is not forgiving with respect to new players at all)

Anyway, can you guys recommend any other games to consider from your past experiences? I'm pretty much open to consider anything and I come to ESR because you guys are the best resource for this topic!

This mod for Arma II looks fucking interesting, and potentially a lot of fun. Has anyone given it a go?

I would like to quit quake live. I have found this difficult to actually do. Are there certain steps one must take to do this? Thanks for your help and support.

On my Radeon HD 6850, while observing the sensors in GPU-Z, the GPU core clock is only running at 100 MHz, and the GPU memory clock at 150 MHz ........its 'resting' or '2D' clock speeds. Shouldn't it be higher than this while running ANY game, even if an OLD one like quakelive ?? Hmm....

A few of my friends, and many articles online made me believe that, upon starting bioshock, I was in for one amazing experience.

I just beat this game a few hours ago, and I didn't feel very attached to the story or the gameplay. There were a few cool plot twists, but nothing really matters AT ALL, you just follow the objective arrow, with everything spoon fed to you.

Also, the fighting was pretty bad, sometimes I couldn't tell if I was hitting an enemy or not. I needed the "BEEP" confirmation ..

I am on ztn and I fell from grenade platform down onto shard platform and I didn't get any falling damage. How did I do that? I can't replicate it

I played a guy today pinging around 110 and we dueled on ZTN and i won pretty handily right from the get-go, but he shafted 45 percent the entire game. This made me suspect that he was cheating. Can someone even LG 45 percent with that much latency? And no I wasn't just +forwarding him without dodging or something like that

Currently, my computer is a 2006 Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop. When I got it, it was great. Now, it is old (obviously). I would very much like to put together a much more powerful (specifically towards gaming) desktop PC. Back in 2006 I paid much more attention to the current GPUs and other computer components, but now days I am totally out of the loop on this stuff.

I have come across a lot of web sites that describe their "budget build" which is usually like $ 700. I however cannot really determine if these proposed "budget builds" are a good idea.

There have been many amazing, exciting matches in quake. Do any matches stick out to you which seem to be the best, most dominant win ever? For example, I think some of K1llsen's matches when he is "on" are the "best" a match has ever been played (most accurate, great spawn raping, unreal accuracy, etc).....

Sure there is no criteria for what defines a 'best performance ever' so what is the best performance in history, in your opinion?

Maybe it will help to consider "Was there even anything the opponent could have done ?"

The only FPS that I have ever been really into has been the quake series (Q3, team arena, Qlive). Ok, great.

That being said, I came across some Warsow trailers and gameplay the other night, and I have to say it looked pretty fun at least from what I saw.

The game looks like it plays very much like quake live does, with slight differences, and, an obvious and drastic change in color/visuals.

But, from anyone who has played Warsow, how is the gameplay? Are there enjoyable matches to be joined on a regular basis? How similar to Quake live is it?
