sup people. I've been trying to revive the show for some time now, but failed due to the reluctancy of the community members I've reached out to. I(decided to ditch the project in the form that it existed in to this point, so here's the deal: I have a couple of ideas how to progress, but if the show's changing may just as well ask potential listeners what do they want to hear. therefore if you have any ideas for the format of the show: segments, co-host, topics, whatever, drop it here and I'll be sure to consider. if no one gives a fuck I won't waste my time, but hopefully there will be some interest and activity to help me stand the show on it's legs again. kisses:*

Australian invasion is upon us! This week the charming host of
Talkink Is Danger podcast invites
Fraze to join the nerdout. And nerd out we do. We laugh, we cry (well, we don't cry really, we're manly men with moustaches on our chests) we talk Quake, so if you're into this type of stuff: have at it.
in non particular order
-Showmatch against K1llsen
- Evil
-Rivalry on top
-Favourite mappool
-Daaaaaaaaaa
Fraze makes hosting the show very easy. You just shut the hell up for an hour and the thing does itself. And it's all interesting so I think you'll enjoy it. During the time I was talking though I managed to sneak some wrong information about the Zowie cup. You can find the correct details here. And yeah guys I have some cool things cooking up in the oven, but if you have something interesting to suggest I'm all ears.

Is this a ghost? No! Don't be scared. It's just another episode of
Talkink Is Danger! Ha! This time we tackle a serious issue of female gamers, streamers and stream watchers with special guest:
Liefje. We had a blast recording the show, so prepare to spew hate in the comments and let's roll! Again!
in non particular order
-Female gamers
-Quake
-Crusty vagina aids
-chat moderation (lol?)
-recent clock scandal
Talkink Is Danger is back again (yes, I know) and stronger than ever. As expected Liefje was an excellent guest and even though the main topic was a bit serious we managed to squeeze some fun out of it hopefully. Enjoy the show!

We're back! After last week's absence caused by recording failure of unknown origin the show got scrapped due to my inability to fix it in time for it to stay relevant. Sincere apologies to my guest
ShadyAK and to
dem0n who finally got mentioned hehe. No luck this time though.
Talkink is danger is here with
Zoot sharing his opinion about the recent developments. Unfortunately the last message i received from
qwih sounded like 'help, they're everywhere!', so I just assumed that he got eaten by the famous giant London rats.
in non particular order
-Dreamhack production
-No Quake at Dreamhack perspective
-Poking fingers in pies
-125fps mappool and One Map Cup policy
Sorry for the lack of an episode last week guys. I do my best but no one's perfect. This is a good one though. I'm also gonna have a new setup for the next one so things will improve as I hope they were doing anyway in the meantime. Tune in and enjoy!

Another week, another show.
Talkink is danger is back with
Memento_Mori dropping in for a chit chat and unveiling some behind the scenes info about the recent donation process. Sadly
qwih is in the middle of other things, so again no appearance from him, but he's hoping to be back as soon as possible. Not that I missed him lol. And come on. It's Memento, so you know it's gonna be good. And it is.
in non particular order
-Dreamhack seedings
-Strenx's retirement
-Tournament formats for some reason
-Memento's pro player career
-Donations and money division
Here it is! Tons of stuff to talk about this week and a very interesting guest make for a good show. Also i put a little more work into sound editing so this episode should be way easier on the ears. Oh yeah, show may or may not contain some small quantities of death metal. We dig this stuff hard, so deal with it heho.

Time has come for the third installment of
Talkink is danger.
qwih is dealing with his move and shizzle, but I was bored as hell so I grabbed
ins and recorded anyway. Surprise, surprise, Dreamhack is being mentioned, but we touch on a couple of other interesting things as well. So listen up and enjoy yo!
in non particular order
- tox vs spart1e and k1llsen vs av3k showmatches
-Quake Live standalone client
-Dreamhack (lower seeds mostly)
-Location of Mexico
Ye this is not a typical episode of the show but whatevs. My router is a piece of crap and my connection suffers even more recently so there is some robo voice from ins going on but luckily it's very mild. Also I say 'you is doing it' at some point. LULZ

Ok so obviously the episode was recorded before Syncerror dropped a massive bomb thursday afternoon, but we'll get to that, don't worry. Meanwhile enjoy our Dreamhack discussion. There are some neat quality improvements, new segments and some hopefully funny surprises. We'll see. Tell us what you think. We're still trying to find a winning formula and hope that we're going in the right direction. Peace brah.
EDIT: credit to funnyb for dropping the cpm knowledge with a twist.

First episode is pretty much the test recording that we decided to edit and release anyway. This is our very first attempt at podcasting so the show is very flawed. The recording is crude, I was a bit ill hence there's some coughing, heavy breathing and stuff. We also completely forgot to introduce the show properly and just got right into it hehe, but all of those issues are gonna get looked at and hopefully fixed very shortly. At least it's not boring, right? Ye i thought so. We're aiming to make the show more structured and discuss big topics in more detail without going on horrible tangents in the future.

From Deliberate Murder's Facebook page:
Sergey 'evil' Orekhov leaves deliberate murder. Reason is simple: after USA and Prague 102 ain't sure we've got enough money for Dreamhack Winter 2013. "102".evil played Dreamhack Summer 2012, Dreamhack Winter 2012, Renaissance, Adroits LAN, QuakeCon 2013 and hell of a lot smaller tourneys. We don't know if he's going to be a "loner", or he's got new sponsors. Anyway, good luck to him!

A new update is upon us, scheduled for the next week. Luckily id prepared a preview of maps coming with it, so we can have a little peek into the future.
Making its way to QUAKE LIVE from Quake 3 Arena, Future Crossings makes its debut from author Dan "Scancode" Gold. As the name implies, Future Crossings takes place in a futuristic space base. The flag sits alone in the middle of the base on the mid-level, surrounded by both higher and lower ground, making for unpredictable escape routes. Teams will fight for the Quad Damage in the middle, with armor serving as a sniper roost for people wishing to ply their Railgun skills. Future Crossings supports all flag-based gametypes.
Gospel Crossings is a Capture the Flag arena that takes the fight to multiple levels of a gothic cathedral. Created by Dan "Scancode" Gold, Gospel Crossings is another classic CTF arena returning to QUAKE LIVE. Defenders will find a multitude of ways in and out that they have to defend, especially the jumppad leading from the bottom level behind the flag. A Quad Damage is up for grabs in the middle, but a fog pit is the only thing waiting to greet players. Gospel Crossings supports all flag-based gametypes.
Railyard has been rebuilt from the ground up, new exclusively for QUAKE LIVE. Formerly known as Silly Railings by Dan "Scancode" Gold, Railyard is a small Capture the Flag arena where all the action takes place in one room. Stacks of crates are available for cover, with jumppads behind them for popping up and railing. Nothing but some abandoned railroad tracks separates the two teams. Railyard supports all flag-based gametypes, and definitely excels for small One Flag CTF matches.

Memento had already written a very compelling summary of the event, but I still feel the need to add my two cents to the story. An effort this succesful deserves every bit of praise it can get therefore I decided to write this journal hoping to give a little feedback and entice people to participate in the following editions. Which I'm very sure are coming. Sorry for the wall of text and no pictures (here's my gallery though
http://esreality.com/post/2483786/shitty-prag...om-koziol/ ).
I never expected Prague TDM LAN to be such an amazing experience. I anticipated it being fun, but the reality spat in the face of my expectations and mumbled "this is quake... bitch" right before kicking them in the nuts. Five seconds after me and Noobakilla arrived in the cafe on thursday evening we were drinking beers with Tony, Fargold, Deotrip, Legie and many many more. We relaxed for a bit and went to greet the already practicing Deliberate Murder and Vertigo. Meeting Cooller was first of many surreal experiences in line, but he was very cordial so i got over it fast. As I usually do. There was still some check in formalities to attend to so the hotel was the next destination, altough we didn't forget to buy some beers and taste other local delicacies on our way to Sunshine Hostel where for better or worse I decided to stay.
Suddenly! An unknown number appears on my phone screen. I proceed to answer and it is... Ins shouting at me to get my ass to the cafe. Slenderman and a Child with a beard have arrived. We fucked around for a while and back to Sunshine it was. We spent that night in mine, Zoot's and Ins' room drinking and chatting with dudes like Wision, Lam and Lester. Talking Quake and shiet. And even though the lan server wasn't up, dem0n's car broke in Germany (300! were worried he won't be able to make it) and there was work to do the next day we were hopeful and already having fun. Lester btw is an awesome guy doing lots of behind the scenes work during the event and mad props go to him.
The first day of the lan greeted me with a solid hangover and a crapton of overlays to create, but everything was running pretty smoothly apart from shitty streaming pc in the casting booth. It crippled Zoot's ability to utilise many interesting production possibilities that the District Cafe provided. And there was an hour delay right at the beginning of the stream debacle, but in the grand scheme of things all of those issues shrank into small details. The tournament had already started and the people were AMAZING.
This is what will differentiate this event from an experience like for example Dreamhack: the accessibility and a sense of community and belonging. Just a bunch of nice people having fun together by shooting rockets into each other's faces. Pleasant day stretched into a fantastic night in our hostel room again this time with Purri, Tony, dem0n (who made it), Memento_mori, Zoot, Ins, Noobakilla, Deotrip and me. Purri explained Q2 to us, Ins was drinking ("Drink Ins! Drink like the wind!") and the now famous phrase "For the community" was created. At first as a joke, but when the weekend was passing we all started treating it more and more seriously. Even the cynical bastards like me couldn't ignore the overwhelming sense of natural comradery.
Day two. Hangover again. After a couple of group games in the morning the playoffs were about to start so the stakes were high. Teams were focused and me and Liefje must have drunk about a billion beers in the bar. As the matches went on the audience started to react in more and more lively fashion and in the late afternoon the atmosphere reached it's peak that it managed to hold to the very end of the event. Fully Loaded vc CZE was a coronation of the day. A game that nearly gave half of the people there a heart attack. Me included.
After the last frag was made we were ready to party, but unfortunately the receptionist of Sunshine had a different idea hehe. The crew at hand with too many people to mention ended up on the street in front of Hotel Carol. It didn't affect our spirits in any way so the meeting turned out special in it's own way. Guerilla style ftw. Around 4 am Wision joined us for an early morning cigarette after which we split up to have some rest before the finals day.
The last day was bittersweet. People were extremely excited to see the finals, but there was already a subtle feeling of closure dawning on us. Nevertheless we proceeded with the fun times. And the fun times they were. Good games in great company. The awards ceremony followed by a group picture delivered the widest smiles I have seen in a while. Crazy FFA later was just an icing on a cake.
It was hard to say goodbye. Luckily Wision's words about the future helped cheering everyone up. On monday after the whole day of traveling and at the very end of our journey Noobakilla summarised my thoughts perfectly with one sentence: "FUCK! Let's go next month." I wholeheartedly agree.
Big thanks to every person that was there either making this event happen, playing in the tournament or just spectating and spending time with people. Especially to Wision who pulled it off like a champ. I mean: what a fucking win. See ya next year 100 fucking percent.

Quake Live Premium Pack 18 will be released soon and id software offered a sneak peek view at the things to come. Update includes some new maps for different game modes and a brand new gametype: Race.
Update content details:
Brand new to QUAKE LIVE is the Race gametype, which puts a non-combat spin on Quake. Players race against the clock and each other to earn the fastest time. Race takes place on both deathmatch and CTF arenas, challenging players to race from checkpoint to checkpoint taking the most efficient route. Players spawn using PQL physics, which allows for enhanced air control, and a wider variety of movement, topped with higher speed potential. A Rocket Launcher and Plasma Gun are also made available to navigate the tricky bends and turns. Matches end when the timelimit is reached, and the player with the shortest run is declared the winner.
Created by Terminatria author Russell "bst" Vint, Delirium is a Duel arena set in a futuristic facility. The arena consists of three levels, connecting through large, curvacious hallways. Delirium is larger than the typical Duel arena, benefitting players that can navigate through rooms quickly, and cutting off your opponent to prevent them from grabbing Yellow and Red Armors. Best suited for 2 to 6 players, Delirium is also playable in small Clan Arena and FFA matches.
Fuse, created by Ferdinand "cityy" List is a Duel arena new to QUAKE LIVE. A mixture of outdoor and indoor areas, the action in Fuse takes place primarily in three different rooms, connected on multiple levels. Duellers will find themselves attempting to control a Yellow Armor, Red Armor, and Mega Health. Fuse features a lot of thin ledges, useful for trickjumping or ambushing opponents below. Fuse also plays great in FFA and Clan Arena modes for matches between 2 and 6 players.
Golgotha Core is a large Free For All arena, featuring a health and armor generator for players looking for a quick boost. Large rooms built with long lines of sight favors those who love the Railgun. A powerup heavy arena, you'll want to control either the cycling Haste/Invisibility, and Quad Damage, both located in the bottom of the space. Made for 4 to 12 players, Golgotha Core is also playable in Clan Arena, Freeze Tag, and Red Rover modes.
Pillbox is a brand new Capture the Flag arena with fast captures and fast action. Defenders have a couple of tricks at their disposal, including a pressure plate to activate a crusher to stop camping enemies, and a bridge that drops into the lava that also houses a Mega Health. Attackers can take the rear route into the base, and pop a few grenades down a hatch that routes to the flag. A powerup in the midfield ensures the defense can't play too far back. Pillbox is best played from 2v2 to 4v4, and also supports One Flag, Harvester, and Attack & Defend.

Here's a ddk's blog post explaining his take on the things you need to realise and mindset you need to aquire in order to become a champion. It ties to opinions on forteiting games recently expressed by Booms on the Faceit stream. I gotta say it's a fucking thrilling read (and watch) and it actually made me to somewhat change my mind on the matter. Well done ddk and let's see more of this please:]

I don't really want to stir things up much as esr is pretty conflicted as it is (especially lately) but I find recent attempts by Demiurg to shut up Shootmania nay sayers kinda distressing. I can fully understand nuking abusive posts, but as I went through the "Shootmania whine" thread I thought that the whole 'new policy' is quite disturbing as only the small percentage of the criticized opinions were really throwing pure shit at the game. Where is the line that an admin shouldn't cross? Is it here: "yes, this is censorship, and it's new, and it' not 'entitlement', it's called 'tolerance and constructivism', and it won't necessary continue, I am waiting on some feedback on that. " (c) Demiurge? I really don't think so, because admins should be imho as impartial as possible. But that's just my opinion. Discuss. (no shit throwing :])
