it seems ever since that magical rapha rocket in dm13 took his soul in quakecon, evil hasnt been the same.

the evil that used to make cypher ragequit final map of every faceit/125fps bo5/bo7 final, is now getting swept out of the series by the same guy.

the evil that used to penetrate (no homo) rapha's defense is having his plan backfire in front of his face, his broken keyboard, and swept out of any chance of defending his dreamhack title.

he's had glimpses of himself here and there, but its usually the same story: instead of clutching games like he used to - he now occasionally has a huge lead, then somehow blow it and choke at the end.

has he gone downhill and lost confidence? have top players just figured out how to play his style? both?

QC's 8 groups of 4 players bo3, double elimination

i think quakecon's format was better. we got to see evil, rapha, DaHanG, ZeRo4 all play each other right off the bat. heck, the very first group game stream was rapha vs evil bo3. not to mention it warms players up with other players their level. also, if one player had a bad performance in the winners bracket, they can always come back and make it to the final. ie evil

DH had so many top tier players, it would have been nice to see all the top seeds play each other first right off the bat, as well as the high, medium, and lower seeds. DH, although was run very professionally, i think the QC double elim format would have shown the fans a lot more interesting matchups. both rapha and cypher said although they made finals, they wished they also played certain players

i thought these were hilarious, as the opponents were probably thinking "since when did Nitrino get so good" prior to the confession

ive seen the compare players feature for qlranks, but is there a way to see the overall record between two players?

for instance in the qlranks stream before each duel begins it shows the record between two players, as well as their elo. like this

i hope this means we see more of rapha and cypher practicing. cyphers team didnt qualify a while back, so he's been dedicated to quake the last few months.. and he's back stronger than ever. cypher 2.0. i hope rapha will be back as well.

strenx seems to still be in love wtih quake, as we seem him participate in cups and streams for fun on twitch here and there, but i hope he continues to play quake competitively as he is fun to watch
