(Unofficial) How do you feel about Diabotical after playing? (2 comments)

I am not involved with the Diabotical team in any capacity, but I'm interested in seeing how everyone would rate the game in its current state after spending some time playing. I browse here occasionally to see if my experience coincides with what some of the top comments here say. Just curious in looking at more of a proper survey.

If you can fill out the 10 question survey and send the link to other beta participants, that would be great. :)

Is Quake Champions the new CS:GO? (11 comments)
Posted by inspectre @ 01:34 CDT, 15 June 2016 - iMsg
Coming from a CS 1.6 background, I have this eerie feeling that Quake Champions will become a widely popular game, but one that I just can't get behind.

For some quick background, I never moved to CS:S, hoped for the best in CSPromod fantasyland, then tried CS:GO with the best of intentions and simply couldn't find the passion for it. Basically, it wasn't CS to me.

So...I moved to quake as my main game :)

I wonder if there are some parallels now:
1. Q3/QL = CS 1.6
2. Quake 4 = CS:S
3. Reflex = CSP fantasyland
4. QC = CS:GO

Any thoughts?

Custom HUD Fix (for QL BETA) (22 comments)
Posted by inspectre @ 20:45 CDT, 23 October 2015 - iMsg
Posted this in the steam forums as well

For those of you who use a custom HUD, you may have seen that some of your text was moved when you tried it in the beta (upcoming steam exclusive release).

Some of the elements that were probably ruined include:
- Health
- Armor
- Scores
- Ammo count
- and other text elements

In order to move them back to their original locations, you need to calculate the proper offset based on the text's size (textscale).

THE FIX

Step 1. Calculate the offset
offset = t^2 * 12
(t = textscale)

Step 2. Adjust text position (vertical)
- In the proper itemdef (or menudef), subtract the offset from the vertical position.

Example:
original location and textscale
rect 140 440 104 36
textscale 1

fixed location and textscale
rect 140 428 104 36
textscale 1

Notes:
- It is highly recommended to change the position only in the relevant itemdef(s). If you adjust the menudef instead, other related elements (such as icons and backgrounds) will also move.

- I've posted a preliminary version of my fixed hud here: http://pastebin.com/sE69ZfZM
