Hello friends,
I have an XL2411T and it rocks. I tried lightboost, wasn't a big fan. Went back to 'normal' mode and since I can't get to 144hz anymore (stays 120). If I force it in my nvidia driver it will just give me 'out of range'. Tried reinstalling the driver. I removed lightboost as on the blurrbusters faq
(To turn off LightBoost: 1. Disable the “3D Stereoscopic” checkbox in Control Panel. 2. Unplug the monitor’s power supply for 5 seconds, and then plug in again. (this clears the nVidia LightBoost unlock.))
Any ideas?

I decided to finally join the new milenia and buy a 120hz lcd to go with the new pc parts I'm buying. First I wanted to do a small upgrade... But fuck that.
My (halfdead) machine is a c2d with 4gb ddr3 and a nvidia 650. I'm upgrading to a i5 4670, new mobo and then keeping the rest for now (any comments on this?). I mostly play games that need CPU power.
I never really followed the whole 120hz screen discussion (crt4life!11) and now it's too much information to read up about. It seems to me that the BenQ monitors are loved by most, especially the XL2411T - So I'm leaning towards this one. The XL2420T also looks very good on paper. Are there any other monitors that are worth checking out? I think 24" is what I'm looking for but I am open to suggestions.

Edit: Never mind, gonna buy it!

After years of trusty service, my beloved 1.1a has been infected with the infamous disconnect-reconnect virus, probably due to cable problems :((. I've been looking around for a new one but my local sellers here finally ran out of them and I really cba to order it from shady companies/have to wait for it for a week or two. So maybe it's time to change! First my CRT dies and now this, these are sad times. The question is, though, to what? So many threads of cod kiddies talking about DPI and thinking accel is good :C the googles are filled with them and reading all that shit makes me want to kill a homeless person.
I ask you ESR, what's a valid upgrade from the gr8stesstst mouse? I would like to have something with kinda the same shape and no bullshit need for weird drives/software. Is there even anything like this? Obviously Razer can go suck a dick with their cloudservice.
Edit: Have ordered a Zowie AM, thanks friends (and heartless)

I felt like playing some Quake(-like game). Even though I hear and read everywhere that Quakelive is deader than dead, I'd rather sell my soul to the stupid pro-account making arseholes who call themselves ID software than play Shootmania (unskilled piece of shit, I think there's enough coverage on how bad it is). I can understand progamers, switching games to make some bucks. What I can't understand are all these 'sub-top' players that will make little to no money trying to defend themselves with "oh it's so much fun! it's so different! Think of the future of it!". If they would all put their heads together, put time time into it and try to promote the game they actually loved, that shit would be so much more alive than this temporary game which is just being picked up by tournaments because money is being spent. Weak.

Hello!
I have a MacBook and I want to play some games on it, only problem is that I can't find a way to get my mouse to work on a higher polling rate. It seems to be stuck on 100Hz and that's unplayable.
Does anyone know a workaround? It's a MS1.1a :<

Hello!
I was wondering if people could tell me what they think of lasermice. Why do people think they suck? Did they have one? (if so, which?) Is it because everyone says they are shit?
Tell me!

Yesterday I found out that the Logitech 'optical wheel mouse' isn't the same shape as the MX300, there are some minor differences. I borrowed a white pilotmouse because I wanted to use it for spareparts on my MX300 which died a year ago, the rightmousebutton didn't work anymore and I couldn't find what was up with it back then. I bought a MX518... At first I thought it was an ownage mouse, later on It got through to me that the shape sucked and that it hurt my little finger :<
I found an MS1.1a \o/ Loved that mouse. Used that the last few months. At work I was visiting an end-user who was using the pilotshaped mouse, it felt so good! (yes, i am a nerd). I decided to borrow one and try to fix my mx300 with it, they are different! The mousebuttons are a different shape, the rest is just a tad bigger.
I managed to fix my mx300 though by filing the mousebuttons.
Now back to my MX300, god the shape is so perfect 8)
*happy*
yes, this is a nerdy, not interesting journal but I'm happy with my mouse! :(
