Over the last year or so I've seen a rise in e-sport gaming, obviously Star craft has always been around as an RTS but in terms of mobas.

The championships for DOTA 2 had a 1 million dollar first place prize, larger then all other previous e-sport prizes previously including painkiller, quake and every other e-sports game that's been around in the past.

League of legends which is a free moba and been around a while has continued to grow and again there is another 1 million dollar first place prize.

Why have these mobas been attracting such huge endorsements ideas people? and is this just 1 of many esport gamings phases soon to fade away again?

For those of you that don't know, there is the DotA 2 International currently in progress, full schedule on the link I provide with a live stream. Next matches are 14:45 but appeared to have started a game now and the full event lasts until Sunday!

This tournament will be the first time DotA 2 is shown in public, and will take place August 17th -21st at Gamescom in Cologne. The International features the 16 best competing DotA teams in the world and the winning team will receive $1 million.

The figures that shock me is what I want to discuss! I can't believe only 33.5m PS3's and 39m xboxes have been sold.

Also looking at the current Nintendo trend, with the NES going through the years to the game cube, the numbers drastically decline, is that due to a more competitive market as time goes by or what?

Only through total innovation has the Wii (67.46m) been the major (RECENT) rising star exceeding the previous highest selling console, the nes (67.45m). I dunno what is more impressive, the fact that Nintendo sold that many NES's when the games market was less mature, or the fact the WII has sold more in this current very competitive, saturated and mature market.

Continuing with the DS, I now understand that the ads about the DS being for young and old hold true, they have sold 125.3m DS's more then any traditional games console! Though im not sure how much profit they make after the sales, as more people pirate DS hardware then consoles.

Im also surprised that the so called supreme Iphone has only sold 42.m but I suppose thats down to fact the phone market is very very very competitve and not actually targeted for gaming (but its getting that way).

And to top it off and end my ramblings, there were two porn games unofficially released for nintendo hardware!

Right i was playing risen and it crashed ingame corupting my windows system files, I couldn't restore therefore I formatted and installed windows again. I installed windows vista again but it kept crashing so I went to install windows 7. The problem now is ive formatted everything and I get a blue screen page fault in none paged area. It will not boot off a cd in safe mode as when the windows loading bar completes its crashes, ive run memtest for my ram its fine. The hard drive displays data in my asus ez flash so i know its not that, so it must either be a completely fucked cmos, motherboard cpu or gpu. Any ideas incase its none of these, ive just flashed my bios to the latest beta as well to no avail.
The error code is for any of you techies.

Ive downloaded both versions on xbox live and must regret in saying, but Pro evo has slipped gameplay wise, it just seems a lot slower. The game however, looks a hell of a lot better and the shooting feels better.

Fifa on the otherhand, the visuals are poorer but the fluidity of player movement and physics has vastly improved, at this current time It looks like I prefer fifa even tho traditionally I have been a pro evo fanboy.

What about your thoughts people?

Seriously GSC really annoy me! The game has been more or less the same since the first stalker, I mean the second stalker was practically the same engine, same gameplay same everything, and Pripyat looks exactly the same. They are just milking an engine that wasn't even good enough for the 1st stalker game, and I certainly won't be buying this one. The only difference is the direct 10 support. Thier games aren#t sequels but expansion packs that are double the price they should be.

Me and my mate are going on holiday and he is scared of flying because hes watched final destination lol, anyway I told him off the top of my head its something stupid, the odds of being in the crash so he said prove it. I looked it up quicky and I don't know if this is credible, but if it is, its shocked me.

Because they never evolve! 2 competent players cannot exceed each other as the games are often luck based waiting for flaws in AI to bag goals rather then player error.

The ball physics have improved, but at a very slow rate and the player controls/skills just continue to be limited. Im speaking more in terms of pro evo then fifa here, as fifa seems to have more realistic AI, and tackling traits, whereas pro evo is more fun but full of badly coded team formation AI.

Simply put, you just cannot dominate and be satisfied on a football game like you can on quake or ut, or whatever first person shooter you play, or even rts like warcraft or starcraft, as skill is far outweighed by luck.

Anyone got any spare redeem codes for the pc or xbox 360? my mate give me one but the prat has given me 1 thats been used.

They are annoying especially as of late, because of the recall of the game Little Big Planet due to some tiny piece of music within the game mentioning some words from the qur'an. But yeah the people getting offended are probably the few people who think its alright to persuade kids to blow themselves to pieces.

Another example was resistence last year offending the christian church, and the most recent example is Fallout 3 being cancelled for indian because of potential offences. And to carrying on rambling some 24 year old student in afghanistan the other day narrowly avoided the death penalty and got a life jail sentence for downloading stuff about womens rights?

If anything should be recalled, banned or wiped off this earth, is religion, epecially the muslim faiths because they are the biggest cause of death and upset thats probably ever existed. Most faiths consider themselves far too important, if religion is meant to promote forgiveness why are they so petty about small content in games?

The pc the graphics will be far better and i prefer using a mouse and keyboard then a controller, but most of my mates are on the xbox 360. So just cant really decide!

Right ive put my credit card details on xbox live to get some points for the game Braid, and to renew my gold membership. Im not an avid xbox live gamer as the pc is far superior but anyway.....after a shocking discovery when you enter credit card details onto xbox live it will automatically attach it to auto renew your membership every month without your consent, and also there is no way of removing the details unless you ring them up.

This seriously needs to be investigated and microsoft should be forced to allow the consumer to control whether 1) they want thier credit card details on or to delete them easily and 2) be able to change whether they want auto renew on or not.

Just commenting on my thoughts about spore. Obviously the game looks superb and extremely innovative, but im worried about its scale. Its mean't to be huge with 100s of galaxies to explore, my fear is that most galaxies will be carbon copies and will just basically repeat in nature to the ones before. This would kill the vast gameplay and make it all pointless.

What are your guys thoughts on the subject people?

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see a review if one comes out this year!

Because i believe the internet should remain a place for freedom of choice AND speech! large firms need to realise that they can't just muscle other firms; of which provide us the tools for expression. We are the ones in charge not them! Keep the internet free and expressive! If we choose to watch copyrighted material on youtube (which is usually free on tv anyway!) in our own good time without commercials we will, and often comment on what we see.

right guys, ive just been playing a £30 freezeout at blackpool casino in the UK with about 100 runners. Now im fairly consistent in placing well in these tournaments and there are currently 20 people left in the tournament. I have 56000 chips and blinds are 1500/3000 so im good. After viewing this link of the source engine being modified to provide a rts style game, it brought back memories of my desire of somebody to design and make a standalone sheep tag game derived from the classic warcraft 3 mod. The game isnt competitive at all but it does have some skill involved but it is an extremely fun game to be chased by a wolv and also good when ur hunting for the sheep, im just trying to inspire somebody with programming and general game development skills to try and design a standalone free downloadble version of the game in whatever free to use open source engine! anybody up for the task?

Yes thats it boys and girls ive just finally completed every posible achievement of the game. I did the main story relatively quickly then went on to be the grey fox, master of the fighters guild, arch-mage of the mages guild, Listener of the dark brotherhood and a knight.

Im wondering though if there are any more un recognisable quests I may have missed. its weird it feels like yes im all power I have everything but there is no evident ending, just a continuous game. A sad time that its now I think at an end!

Its 3:17am on a sunday morning, a few hrs after bombfire night where the sulphur smoke spams the streets and irritating booms commence throughout the night. In the, "I Ain't Mad At Cha," video, Tupac dies. In his next video, "Toss It Up," his name is Makaveli.

In the, "Hail Mary," video, there is a gravestone that says, "Makaveli." It is cracked and there's a hole in front of it; this inplies that Makaveli rose from the dead.

In the,"Smile," video with Scarface, Tupac is crucified...Later he falls and stands up and it appears to be a double. Still, is this another image of resurection? Why make people so suspicious?

One of Machiavelli's books is, "Discourses Upon The First Ten Books Of Titus Livy," which it's claimed Tupac read in jail. In Book 2, Chapter XIII He says, "a prince who wishes to achieve great things must learn to decieve..." This is very similar to verses in some of Tupac's songs.

Did Bone Thugs N Harmony play a role in helping Tupac fake his death? In the, "Thug Luv," song, right before Tupac starts rapping, Bizzy can be heard in the background saying, "He's alive, he's alive, he's alive..."

Machiavelli's book, "the Art of War," is also the name of Bone's new album.

In the movie, "Gridlock'd," when Tupac and Roth are in the diner and they glance up at the menu, all the L's are upside down 7's.

In the movie, "Gang Related," Tupac and Belushi wait in room 7, and Tupac's badge number is 115; 1+1+5=7.

Is Kadafi really alive too? In, "Starin' At The World Through My Rearview," he says,"...as you riminis(sorry about spelling) wit your crew, smoke a blunt for me too, I'm starin' through your rearview..."

The song in which Tupac says he's alive, "Hold Ya Head," on the Makaveli CD, before Tupac begins rapping, a voice says, "Can you see him?" Another voice replies, "I see him." Then Tupac softly says, "I'm alive..."

Do you really believe he's dead or alive?

After reading all the theories, in my own opinion I still feel he really is dead, why would someone want to fake thier death from being so famous and at the pinnicle of thier career? maybe he wanted to spend his millions for 7 years then make a come back on the 13th sep 2003 as stated. All we can do is wait and see :)
