For those dirtybomb players out there that have been craving something more than just public games or the occasional match making game with their friends, we have some good news!

The first cup of 2015 is here! To summerise, there will be a 5 vs 5 stopwatch cup in 2 Sundays time on our own PRIVATE SERVERS. That is correct, we have managed to negotiate the use of private servers for this cup. But not only that, nexon have agreed to some prizes for players. MERC Starter packs and some Dirtybomb t-shirts. Welcome to the first competitive cup of 2015 for dirtybomb! We would like to invite everyone to participate in the first cup of this year. We have been known throughout the closed alpha and beta for running several competitive events quite successfully. Whether you are a player looking for a team or a team looking for some competition. This is your chance to get dirty and potentially win a few goodies!

Cup information
Date: Sunday 19th of April
Time: Start time is 18:00 BST and estimated finish time of 22:00 BST (Subject to delays)
Servers: We have secured some private servers thanks to nexon! They will all be located in Europe for this event.
Format: Stopwatch 5 vs 5 – Best of 3 Maps Single Elimination.
Prizes: While we are unsure of exact numbers, we DO have Merc Start Packs and Dirtybom T-Shirts to give away!

Here is Round three, again playing a SwissSytem, but changing it to Best-Of-1 Matches. Top 4 of the Group stage will play a Single-Elimination Semis & Finals. We will aim for a ~150 minutes tournament, which means that everybody will be able to play 8+ matches in the group stage.

There have been a lot of familiar faces popping up in North America. With all the QuakeCon hype filling the air it was bound happen! However we've still got a few months before the big LAN so there is still time to squeeze in a North American Duel Cup or two. On Sunday April 19th at 16:00 CST it doesn't matter if you're a familiar face, an unknown, or an infamous rival or the former. You are all invited to the eighth installment of the NA DuelCup.

In the interest of time there will be a slight change to our format. The lower bracket will continue to be Best-of-One matches. The lower bracket finals (last game of the lower bracket) will be a Best-of-Three. The big change comes in the upper bracket. The first two rounds of the event will be Best-of-One. It is not until the third round that Best-of-Three is to be used. Good Luck and thank you for Quaking.

Format

64 Player Double Elimination. Map selection for Best of Three is pick/pick and best of one is (obviously) drop/drop.

IMPORTANT FORMAT CHANGE FROM LAST MONTH
In the interest of time there will be a slight change to our format.
The lower bracket will continue to be Best-of-One matches.
The lower bracket finals (last game of the lower bracket) will be a Best-of-Three.
The big change comes in the upper bracket. The first two rounds of the event will be Best-of-One.
The third round that Best-of-Three is to be used.

Common topics Relating to rules and guidelines are below and full details are here.

1.) Occasionally someone will ask "I don't have 3 days and 300 duels played! Can I still play?" and the answer is: "probably, but you should get in touch with me first". This rule exists to deter aliasing so the tournaments can be seeded properly.

2.) In a "Pick-Pick" tournament the players each pick a map from the pool, and then drop maps until one remains. The map that remains will server as a tie breaker. Best of One sets still decide maps by dropping until there is a single map left to play.

3.) Type "cv cointoss" following by "heads" or "tails" into the console to see who picks/drops first. The winner of the coin toss may pass the first map drop/pick to their opponent or take it for themselves.

4.) Upper Bracket games are Best of Three sets: DROP, drop, drop, drop, pick, pick, decider

5.) Lower Bracket games are Best of One sets: DROP, drop, drop drop, drop drop, last is played

6.) Grand Finals is a Best of Seven with a one map advantage for the upper bracket finalist (this means first to four wins with the upper bracket player starting 1:0 in map score). First map pick us decided by a coin-toss, and the player who wins the coin-toss can pass the choice to their opponent. No further action is required until the first map is played as a "loser picks" format means subsequent maps are always chosen by the player coming off of the loss.

6.) Duel servers (unlike classic TDM and CTF) require no modification to the server settings and can simple be made. can be copied from below to make a server with password: duel
IMPORTANT: The only values you can modify are the maps, server name, server password, and server location. There is no point ro make premium servers as it only forces some players to need invites for a server they were going to join anyway. If you simply use a password and provide the information in #duelcup irc on quakenet no one will bother you except the streamer. On that note please remember to always provide an admin a link to your game and the password BEFORE you ready up. Server information can be put into the #duelcup chat or given to admin or streamer using the "/msg" command in IRC. Anything sent to flair in IRC is safe from the stream. note: Anything sent to flair in game is subject to show up on stream so please use IRC!

After this year QuakeCon announcement there have been a lot of interesting team formations on the professional Quakelive scene. And

Infiplay.ru is now proud to present it's roster for this year Quakecon.

evil who has been playing for 8play for more than a year will come back to Dallas for revenge this year. To play the team Tri-Master Tournament he will be joined by experienced french CTF and TDM duo

winz who have attended several LAN team competitions as a part of
