Dear fellow Quakers, it's time to decide.

As you know, the Prague lan had to be canceled due to the district internet cafe closing. We have discussed alternative proposals, and it appears that the most concrete option at this stage is to host a TDM LAN in 2014 is to take part in Storm 14. More information on how we arrive here is in the previous news post.


The only missing thing now is a consensus among the community. Are we doing this or not? Let's speak our mind, and settle this. Please vote here (poll) until Sunday 17th.

Welcome into playoffs of "10 years of UT2004" $3,000 DM 1vs1 tournament!

The tournament structure changes into double-elimination bracket. Two days playoffs are divided into two parts. 1st part (day) includes 3 Winner Brackets rounds and 3 Lower Brackets rounds, final part includes Winner Bracket finals, another 3 rounds of Lower Bracket and Grand Finals.


We are starting tonight at 10:00 CST with division 3 playoffs. For the updates or changes or even for streams, stay around #cK.ut @ QuakeNet.


Let the battle begin! Hopefully to see you around also for the other divisions playoffs!

Well I have decided to start up the N.A. League again here. The format will be slightly different this time around though. Only serious players need to register, you must idle on mIRC in order to communicate with other players or myself.

The groups will run from August 22-28th, the matches will be scheduled throughout the week and streamed live on Targetquake, with a maximum of 16 players. Each group will consist of 4 players and the top two from each group will advance to the Finals, which will be streamed live on Thursday, September 4th. If you are not available to play a lot of quake during the posted week above or the day of the finals, please do not bother signing up. All players who sign up will be grouped according to their elo from QLRanks.com.

After the announcement of New UT, Galaxy Gaming Community is hyping things up with a double elimination tournament. Matches can be played between the players’ own times, which will be convenient. This is a North American tournament, so all matches will be played on North American Galaxy servers!

COMMUNITY TEAM EVENT CANCELLED
Not enough people were interested in the event so we have decided to cancel the Quake Live TDM/CTF tournament. The DUEL tournament that is part of the BYOC LAN will continue. Thanks to those that wanted to support us.

The Storm 14 is the 14th LAN event organised by vzw (non-profit) Freaks At Work since 2006, hosting a healthy mix of competition and fun. We unite communities and provide a platform for fair tournaments. More information about the hosted tournaments can be found on thestorm.be. This list is not complete and can be modified in the future, depending on sign-ups, requests and sponsorships.

After about 2.5 years of development, I'm pleased to announce that the Internet Gaming Movie Database is now open to everyone. The requirement to log in has been taken down so anyone can check out the site. Feel free to find your favorite video, register an account, and give it a rating or leave a comment.

Through the extraordinary contributions by Hungary mdv, Netherlands TheBeats, Germany yks, Germany Bliccer, Canada KittenIgnition, Russia ent, Serbia zeroql, and Germany cityy the site's layout is complete and the database has 1300+ videos in it, almost all with downloads.


And if you missed the announcement the demo-to-video rendering service is part of IGMDb as well. Large improvements have been made, most notably rendering of QL demos is about 50% faster and a bunch of new games have been added to the support list. As of right now, 3000+ demos have been rendered to the YouTube channel.

Shout out to everyone in the mIRC #maverickservers channel; everyone there has at least touched this project in some way.
