Today is the day! After a couple of months of hardcore development a new release is coming out. The objective of the release was to give the community what it was asking for and stabilize the platform as a first step to get out of beta. We think we achieved at least a first step towards this objective and are eagerly looking forward to your feedback.

FACEIT Monthly Ladders
After hearing your requests for additional features around pick up games (“Quick Matches”) we decided to introduce a monthly ladder. In order to rank in the ladder you need to play Pick up matches on FACEIT. Points will be given out after each match depending on your level, the level of your opponent and the outstanding bonus pool.

This feature will open on Thursday 14 March at 12:00 CST. Initially ladder games will be limited to the time frame between 12:00 CST and 18:00 CST everyday. This timeframe will increase depending on the usage levels we’ll record and feedback from the community.

At the end of each month the top players of the ladder will win prizes and the ladder rankings will be reset to create a new challenge in the month to come.

Please note that as part of this change we had to drop the Series tournaments. All players that were currently in series tournaments will see their money credited to their accounts and won’t be able to access these tournaments anymore.

European Quake League 16 coming up (5 comments)

The European Quake League (EQL) is now taking sign ups for the 16th edition of the league. EQL is a QuakeWorld team deathmatch 4on4 league which has been around since 2005, featuring all the top teams in the QuakeWorld scene. The last EQL season ended in spring 2012 and thus there has been a void for all 4on4 players during the fall, up until now that is. The signup process started yesterday and ends at the 31st of March. The league will then start at the 1st of April.

The games will be battled out on the traditional maps DM2, DM3 and E1M2. The teams will as usual be split up into divisions divided by skill and anyone is allowed to sign up to take part of the action. For players without a team, the QuakeWorld.nu transfers forum is recommended to post one's resume and hope to get lucky!

My entry for the contest, I think I pretty much managed to fulfill all their requirements, especially the whole grandiose/epic music aspect with a special orchestral edit of the famous Rocky theme.
I thought everyone deserved to witness such a fine piece of work, enjoy!

We are proud to announce our next WGA cup season. During this season, we will be featuring 7 competitions: iFT, FT, iCTF, CA, CTF, TDM and Duel.

As with any other competition, the main purpose is to keep this game active and alive, we therefore require not only the admins' efforts in managing the cups, but also the players' activity and decency in their participation. Moreover, it is essential for us as players and for the cups that our streamers will once again put our games in the spotlight. Furthermore, as the majority of us have noticed a decline in player count as well as cup-activity, we still think that there is a way to turn this ship around; however, as mentioned before this will require everyone's effort.

Without further ado, this is what you have to do in order to participate:

Lastly, the EU- and NA-finalists will play each other for the first and second spots in the overall cup standings and thus the prize money division, the runner-ups will play for the third spot overall. Here are the FACEIT Daily Cups for 11 to 14 March. All the cups will kick off at 13:30 CST, with check-ins opening at 12:30 CST.

Monday will feature the Level 4 and Level 8 duel cups, while on Wednesday the other two levels, 6 and 10, will be able to face each other off.

As like last week we will also be hosting two Clan Arena cups. On Tuesday the CA 2v2 Test Cup will take place, while on Thursday teams of four can get their fix. You can create a team in the right top corner, be sure to only add one extra person to the team (2/4 - depending which cup - players per team max.). If you are already in a team, you will have to quit it. Be sure all players check-in.
