Dear Cybersport followers and everyone, who likes one of the most impressive games in the world – Quake. We want to invite you to the SWS QuakeLIVE Cup 2012 in Ukraine Kiev.
After almost five years break SWS Quake Cup Championship series, organized by Ukraine ShadoWS Clan, Kiev is back. After such a big break, we are happy to announce our next two days championship and extended cups list. In addition, a new level of coverage of the tournament - a mandatory stream of the most interesting games and text coverage throughout the tournament!

I am glad to inform you that we have started working on a new Q3 with some new features with simply everything good from the current gameplay for insta players and with some additions like a proper anticheat. If you have some ideas in terms of gametype, gameplay etc. Please feel free to post them here or to the link below. What features do you think should be added and what should be fixed from the current gameplay? Waiting for your suggestions.

Bethesda told some more details about the upcoming Doom 3 BFG Edition.


Personally i think it would be nice to have a Classic Doom Multiplayer in the bfg pc version, because Doom on pc started the whole deathmatch idea. But this would be a lot of extended work, like new netcode, selection on game modis, multiplayer maps, new multiplayer port, matchmaking feature, mutiplayer updates etc.

Right now PC Classic Doom has already three good multiplayer clients to play deathmatch and coop: ZDaemon, Zandronum (follower of Skulltag) and Odamex. So there is no important need for another one.

Also there is a new word about changes in the Doom 3 HD Remake.

Tired of getting owned by people with a higher Elo then you? Can’t quite get your foot in the door for the big cups? Then this is the cup for you!

There will be a cup each week, so we need a different winner for each! At the end of 4 weeks (Sept. 16th) we will be having a "Step it Up Duel Master Finals" event, where prior first- and second-place winners will be placed in a Bo5 single-elimination bracket!

Eligibility

QLRanks Elo rating under 1500
At least 3 days of play time on your Quake Live account
Not a first- or second-place winner from a prior week

Rules

Players: 16 players
Format: Double Elimination. Bo3 until semifinals, then Bo5
Map Selection: toss toss pick pick, then flip for tie breaker

A new Quake2 year is finally approaching; the 2012/2013 season! We celebrate this by launching the sign ups phase for the European Duel League #11!

The EDL is a Deathmatch 1on1 competition - the biggest Q2 event left on the planet - open for players from all corners of the world. Non-Europeans normally play their games on home/away servers, i.e. an American may play one map in the US and one in Europe, but despite having to endure a little higher ping once in a while, it works out splendidly!

The league features several divisions, meaning there's a place for players of all skill levels. Even the most sporadic, rusty and unsolemn quakers are guaranteed fun! So no excuse not to join in! Any questions? Don't hesitate to ask! There's always helpful people on IRC!


Sign ups deadline: Wednesday, September 26th, 24.00 CET.

ClanBase has recently started the sign up for the CTF Fall 2012 Cup. Sign-Ups are open till 16th of September.

In September map rotation on Quake Live we can frag again at best duel map ever made. There plenty more but who cares. Let's get first frag and lusback all the way thru teleport till timelimit is done. glhf

Czech Republic neverGreen from mIRC #cpmduel channel is hosting another cpma challenge promode #cpmduel NEWBIES cup. This cup is intended for people inexperienced with cpm, people who are curious to try it and people who are in cpm for a short period of time. This cup is not intended for Warsow or Quake3/QL/QW veterans who are new to CPM! It's aimed towards european players so matches will be played on euro servers. Registration will be opened 30 minutes in advance of the tournament (11 September, 18:00 CET). If you want to play make sure you're on IRC in #cpmduel channel on QuakeNet.


UPDATE: after great evening/night of cpm 1v1 action we came to the superfinal where Col1n won over ins (Trivium) and took the first place. Final results are: cup_gold Col1n, cup_silver Trivium, cup_bronze Enchie. Thank you all who took a part in this a see you next month on another one.

First month of new map rotation system just passed, some commend it, others aren't too happy about it.
However, it surely shows that the activity has dropped regardless of your opinion about it.

The lack of activity was most prominent on duel servers, where one of the most played maps was removed from public servers and only available to subscribers.
September's rotation again lacks competitive duel maps, which are crucial for the activity of standard servers. Clan Arena players will suffer the most with the removal of Campgrounds. We will be able to see and play some RA3 maps such as Theatre of Pain and Evolution.

21 arenas will be selected and update each first monday in month.
An arena has to be at least 3 months old to be eligible for the standard cycle.

SCV Rush has interviewed Belgium Trance, best known for being the "tech guy" behind The GD Studio, Twitch.TV Europe, and Level Up TV.
Some time ago, I wrote up a recap article about the ASUS ROG Tournament, in which I raved about the production value put together by the GD Studio, James "2GD" Harding's esports independent studio project. I was able to talk with James' right-hand man and production guru, Cristian "Trance" Tamas, and ask him some questions regarding the ASUS tournament, his role in the studio, and some other random things!
