Finding the best CSGO gambling sites in 2019 is not that easy. CSGO gambling has had a chequered past to say the least, with many sites being shut down and penalised because of illegal activity.

There is clearly a demand among some Counter-Strike lovers to bet on their favourite game but for the sector to be sustainable long-term, CSGO gambling sites must comply with the laws - primarily for the safety and security of esports fans but also for the sake of themselves.

Diabzau couldn't have really said it better, Extremely unfortunate about the internet access issues we suffered through-out the LAN. There was some technical miss-communication on instances where the LAN network admins had to take preventative measures to save on quota and speed which resulted in tactics such as blocking HTTP and other services we needed.

Congratulations to Dan, Pete, Tim and Fraze for coming through in the top 4. Cash prizes have already been paid out at the event. As this was the first LAN Quakelive event in Australia hiccups were to be expected, however nobody could have anticipated the extent to which problems were going to be encountered. However, lessons have been learnt; if there is next event it will feature a dedicated internet connection and network for the LAN box + competition PCs rather then competing with a more quake-only focused environment.

We apologise for the spectating disappointment caused due to issues that were beyond our control. We took demos, videos and photos for the event linked below. We also now realise how much organisation actually has to go into one of these events and it will be reflected at the next one

Affentod on E-sports journalism (42 comments)
Posted by xou @ 09:12 CDT, 16 July 2011 - iMsg
Germany David "Affentod" Hiltscher currently works as the VP of Gaming Communities at Turtle Entertainment, the company behind ESL. Before that he was one of the founders of the German website readmore. At the end of May 2011, he wrote an interesting article on Fragster about the decline of the eSports journalism. The piece is spread in two part articulated around a top10 each: the reasons of a decline and new hopeful trends.

It's only today that a translation to the English language from Germany Philip "Nazroth" Hubner was published on ESFI World.

Of course ESReality is mentioned, as well as maybe other esports websites. Try to guess in which part of the article:
"After the success of Wikipedia, Huffington Post and the reader reporters of the BILD newspaper, a lot of eSport websites were anxious to let the readers do more and more work – not very successfully though. The number of guest articles and interesting blogs on fragster and readmore has constantly declined over the past years. The concept of ESReality also became meaningless, as the website is now mainly used as a platform for advertising by tournament organizations. Gameriot, the American blog-focused website, succeeded temporarily, but is now offline."

ESWC and IEM drop Quakelive *update* (688 comments)
Posted by xou @ 17:10 CDT, 11 July 2011 - iMsg
The announcement of the games selection for the eswc ESWC 2011 a few weeks ago and for the ESL IEM 6th season today on ESL-World both had something sad in common: they don't feature Quake.

In both case there is no explanation given, and another game is more or less taking over the Quake slot: Counter-Strike: Source in ESWC, and Leagues of Legends in IEM.

I tried to contact ESWC to get a statement, but I didn't receive any reply so far. On Carmac's twitter, IEM's manager, it's also hard to see any explanation on this choice.

Quakelive is now left with 3 major LAN organizations: DreamHack, QuakeCon and ASUS.

Update: I finally got a reply from the new Head of Competition of Games Solutions, Netherlands Camille Versteeg, mostly known for his work as a CS admin during several tournaments.
