I know it's probably not the best timing for NA/EU but if you're up, come check out the games between Corvidae's Steej and JAM Gaming's Astroboy. These two have secured their spots as the best two in Australia winning flights to both Sweden Dreamhack and PAX Melbourne (on this weekend). The match will be showcased at the AMD booth, setup central to the venue, and will feature myself and ZenAku on the mic casting. ZenAku will also be doing "frag a pro" duel sessions versus the PAX audience Friday/Saturday and Sunday to warm up attendee's to the format and style of Duel.

A new season of the modern classic Thunderdome, scheduled to start around the 5th of November, now takes signups from players of all skill levels. Thunderdome is an online QuakeWorld 1on1 duel tournament which aims to bring equal games under competitive circumstances by separating players according to their evaluated skill levels. Games are typically played best-of-three in a double elimination bracket format. The top division is the "Open" to which players of any skill can volunteer to join in.

Players are encouraged to read through the rules before signing up and with regards to the rules the map pool is still subject for some discussion and about to be finalised. It will however "be based on" DM2, DM4, AEROWALK, BRAVADO and ZTNDM3 according to the current wording in the rules section.

The biggest Italian comics and games festival hosts a Quake Champions tournament, on the 3rd and 4th of November.

The tournament will be played in the e-Sports Cathedral in Lucca, near Florence. Yes, that's a true church.

In the 114th episode of my "Reflections" series I interviewed Tim "DaHanG" Fogarty, famed Quake 4, QuakeLive and now Quake Champions dueler.

The duel qualifiers for both PAX AMD Showcase and the Dreamhack Winter are now completed. Congratulations to both Daniel 'Astroboy' De Sousa and Tyler 'Steej' Joseph for doing the double back to back. There were some great games, some drama and plenty of emotion running high across the weekend.

UPDATE: Congratulations to Dan and Steej for Qualifying to Dreamhack. Very unfortunate about all our server issues but the show must go on. Tonight we have our PAX tournament for timezones please check countdown here/timezone in schedule below.

Just announced, Australia/New Zealand will be running a Qualifier tournament to send two players to compete at PAX Melbourne. The winners of the qualifier will receive free flights and ticket entry for the day to compete at the AMD Booth for a Prize Split of $600 and $400 AUD. PAX turn out is always massive here and we can't wait to have people enjoying a high level AU/NZ Quake Champions match.

Our region also receied 2 Duel invites and 1 Sacrifice invite to the upcoming Dreamhack Winter in Sweden . We are set to have all of our Quakecon representatives return and try to Qualify for the competition such as Astroboy, Fraze, Python, Steej and ZenAku. We also have fearZZz and nporaMep whom both relocated down our way making an appearance, albeit with an unfair high ping advantage. Other players to watch out for are Dirtbox and Stral who are big from the QW and Promode scene, Chugg who has been putting together slash and aiming tutorials and a bunch of other streamers like Atlantian Wraith, Shirley, Centrelink and Hazkem. Also rumors are that the infamous Quake 3 player uNleashed will be competing as well!

Before the patch got rolled out Phy1um and I put together an patch recap video. I'll also be trying to push out more contact during PAX like interviews/photos/videos etc. please follow myself on the socials.

Lastly, we will also be doing Wager (Points Betting) again so far just for our AU/NZ Qualifier and the Dreamhack Denver tournament.
