A new patch is out for Quake Champions, it contains some minor fixes:


- Steam: Fixed a problem with an account already linked to another Bethesda game.
- Steam: Allowed special symbols in the password field.
- Removed spam from logs.
- Removed Double XP
- Removed QuakeCon Lightning Gun
- Fixed: Wrong lootbox highlight for rare armor shaders for BJ Blazkowicz and DOOM Slayer
- Fixed: Wrong legendary Machinegun drop.
- Fixed: DOOM Slayer's Thak Rune Challenge cannot be completed.

QuakeCon 2017 is on our doorsteps and with it, Quake Champions' inaugural big-stage duel event. Despite missing some big names the event will be by far the most stacked lineup a the series has seen in recent years. As such, most of the matches are bound to be exciting on their own, but what makes them even better is often the storylines behind the action and smarts that take place on the server. Throughout the weekend we'll see many different narratives converge or give way to each other, but in this piece I'll examine several of the key ones, which I'll be paying the most attention to.

CPMA CTF Draft Cup (8 comments)

We'll be hosting a CTF draft cup on Saturday September 2, 2017. The event will have two distinct portions, the first will be the draft itself, where players are organized into teams, and once that is completed, we will begin playing the games. The draft portion will start at 09:30 CDT, with games scheduled to start at 10:30 CDT.

Map List: q3wcp1, ct3ctf1, fjo3ctf3, q3wcp9, q3wcp14.

If you're not familiar with this format, how it works is quite simple. From the final player list a small number of players will be selected to be captains, who will then pick players in a snaking order, until all registered players have been selected. We will use a double elimination format, with all matches in the upper bracket being played as BO3, all matches in the lower bracket as a BO1, and the grand final as BO5. We're hoping this will actually allow us to finish this time.

To register, plese join the cpma CPMA Discord Server and message Canada xero to be added to the draft list.

Quakecon 2017: Quake World Championship DAY 2 (549 comments)

After an intense first day, the Quake World Championship second day promises even more exciting fast paced action at the Quakecon 2017. Sacrifice group stages are over and there are only 4 teams remaining going into the semifinals, the match ups are: Europe NOTOFAST vs United States of America Liquid and Europe 2z vs Europe The defendants. All-super-star team NOTOFAST seems to be doing great at the moment and is pretty much demolishing all opposition they encounter, so could the americans make an upset? they are pretty much all against the odds, that’s for sure. Meanwhile In the second match we got 2z with an strong performance so far in the tournament that seems to give them the upperhand over The Defendants, however, we’ll prolly see the later ones put a hell of a fight to get an opportunity to get into the grand finals.

Duel action has pretty much just getting started with only one round taking place in the first day of QuakeCon, nevertheless, we already witnessed incredible action and some pretty big upsets regarding the first round of the group stages of the Quake World Championship.The most crucial ones being: Hungary Raisy (a pretty much non-quaker and mostly a CS player) demolishing Sweden Tox on LAN, just as in the Regionals, american new blood dueller United States of America dooi beating old QL dark horse France strenx in a 2-0 fashion, the day by day stronger swedish player Sweden fazz beating last year Quakecon’s runner up Russia evil, and of course, the old legend and russian superstar Russia Anton Singov, better known as Cooller, completely destroying United States of America rapha in a both shocking and amazing 2-0 (6-0) performance.

It's time! The day has finally come for the Quake World Championship at QuakeCon 2017. Players from all around the world will come to United States of America Dallas, Texas for a chance to compete for a $1 million prize pool. In the last past years (with the declining of Quake at the e-sports main reflector) players have been competing mostly for legacy and glory only, and even one French man said that the game was too old already that no one had nothing to prove anymore. Well, now this is a whole new game and a whole new field, the big money is back and along with it is also the big and fierce competition. This also will be the first Quakecon to feature the new Quake title from id: Quake Champions, some strange version of the long awaited Quake 5, and pretty much the last opportunity for the Quake franchise to get back to the big stages of competitive gaming.

Quake Champions Early Access Update - Patch Notes (200 comments)

On August 22, we will be launching Early Access, the next phase of Quake Champions! Below are the patch notes for the Early Access game update, including several fixes, improvements, and features, such as the addition of a new Champion... the DOOM Slayer! As always, please let us know your feedback once the update goes live. We'll be sure to provide server status updates on our launcher, starting with the beginning of maintenance around 5am ET when we'll take the servers down to deploy the update. We anticipate maintenance lasting a few hours and will let you know as soon as the servers are live with the update. The launch of Quake Champions on Steam will also occur on August 22, shortly after the completion of the maintenance window.
Update: Available on Steam now!

"After the reveal that Belarus Cypher won’t be able to attend QuakeCon 2017, Virtus.pro decided to find equally talented player to represent our organisation during the tournament. Managing crew was scouting the scene, trying to find the best match for our current players. Candidate's rich professional history, high current form and motivation determined our decision. As a result, Virtus.pro signed another legend Poland Maciej "Av3k" Krzykowski.


Despite him being a relatively young player, Av3k’s carrier is older than some of our fans. He started his gaming adventure from a very early age and quickly secured the title of one of the most recognisable Quake players.

Among such stars as Cooller and Cypher, Maciej has reached top ranks multiple times during international tournaments. In fact, not only was Av3k one of the Cypher’s lifetime rivals, but he also happened to be his teammate a couple times. We can call it a love-hate relationship. At least for the next year, these two are bound together under the VP's name."

Instead of spamming the news posts or forums with links every week, we have put together a list of all the media-related content the Australia Australian's have done so far which you can find below. 4sg have also put together a Points Betting as well as a Shop to help support our players and teams. These pages are really rough around the edges, but are working. The betting page also lists all the players social media and stream links.
