Corvidae: With Quake now having the backing of Bethesda, a powerhouse in the games industry, we are extremely excited to be involved. The game looks and feels great, with a lot of developer support behind it. The game is showing a lot of promise and the community is growing day by day. After the QuakeCon event, there will be a lot more people getting involved in our region.

4SG: When the World Championships were announced we were disappointed to find out that the OCE region was not included in the event. We have a lot of pride in our Quake community and believe that Australia and New Zealand can compete with the best in the world. We were happy to see support from our international fan base who were also wishing for us to be given a place and sending us hope of making it through the NA qualifier. An opportunity arose to play in the BYOC Qualifier and with support from Corvidae and JAM we were able to organise four of our best players to represent Australia at these World Championships.

Fair Play:
Participants are expected to play at their full capacity at all times. Deliberately losing will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification.
Conduct:
All participants are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times. Abusive language, excessive swearing, and other forms of disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Admins may remove any player for violation of this rule at their own discretion.
Attendance:
All players are to check in on http://challonge.com/ with in the time allotted, this is normally 1 hour before the check in closes, every player is also to join the Discord channel on time as well so that the admin can see you are here and are ready to play and take part in the tournament. Any player who does not check in on challonge or Discord within the check in time frame will be removed from the tournament and most likely replaced by someone from the previous group or qualifying rounds.

Nyx is by far the most picked champion so far. On every map. In fact her pickrate is only mimimally affected by map picks and is picked by players in 3/4 matches at the moment. More surprising then Rangers second place is Visor coming in third. He is picked most often on Blood Covenant.

The two champions with aircontrol find themselves at place 5 and 6 in the ranking. Their pickrate seems to be tied to certain players, it will be interesting to see if more players will warm up to them over time.
Both B.J. Blazkowicz and Scalebearer are very map dependant picks, they see a lot of play on the small Corrupted Keep and are barely touched on Blood Run.

On the Bottom we have Gelena and Slash. While Gelena seems to have found a niche on Blood Run, Slash was ignored by everyone. Everyone but hell and chypher that is who tried their luck with her on Ruins of Saranth.

Match system:
Winner's bracket matches will be BO3, grand final will be double BO3 (if needed).

Loser's bracket mathes will be BO1, except the last two matches which will be BO3.

Map picking system:
Use the 'roll' command to determine which player drops first. (Player with the highest roll is the roll Winner)

W: Roll winner
L: Roll loser

BO3 : Drop(L)-Drop(W)-Pick(L)-Pick(W) - The last map is the tiebreaker map (Maps are played in order of picks)

BO1 : Drop(W)-Drop(L)-Drop(L)-Drop(W) - The map remaining is the map to be played

Servers/non-region players:

No unauthorized spectators will be allowed on the servers.
