Matchmaking was released with a blast. We've had over 10,000 games played in just 2 weeks!

The focus of this build is to directly improve on our first pass matchmaking implementation with our observations made the community feedback we have received. :)

Matchmaking: Vote system

- We have re-worked the map voting system to a pick/drop solution where you cannot see your opponents vote until vote time is over
- We wanted to keep the 3 random map selection still, but we do agree with giving the power to down rank a map, and have this map not played. So your down vote will out-rank the opponents up vote.
- With larger groups the voting is cumulative, so be strategic when voting as a party!

Matchmaking: Spectate games

- People want to be able to watch active MM games (and so do we!). We've made this possible, and even added it as a tile to the home menu!
- Spectators can only talk with other spectators, to ensure the people playing are not interrupted.

Matchmaking: Party support

- We've added party support! So you can now grab your friend and queue up in the fun
- Party chat is available in menu of course. You can also party chat in game via sayparty (default bind U).

Matchmaking: Lobby now optional
- We've added a lobby checkbox on the Quickplay screen so people can chose to go play other things while they wait for the matchmaking queue to pop!
- We also re-positioned the overlay so it wouldn't overlap game time widgets since you can play other games while in queue.

Matchmaking: Backend changes
- We have re-structured how data is stored behind the scenes to split regions into US/EU etc
- This is an ongoing process that's setting things up for the near future
- MMR has been reset as a result.

Matchmaking: Servers
- Added Brazil servers
- Russian servers have moved location to hopefully provide better pings

UI improvements:
- Health bar widget: added options from armour bar
- Server browser: added option to sort servers by hostname
- Server browser: restored "show old" option
- Added prev/next page button to addon browser
- MMR values now refreshed when going to main menu to ensure they're up-to-date on profile tile overlay
- Updated twitter link in home menu

Art improvements:
- Thicker MH pickup trails for improved visibility
- Reduced IC impact sparks amount and size
- Fixed bone orientation for adjustable wrench and pipe wrench
- Armour mesh changed to hostile torso

Game improvements:
- Disable previously set mutators when starting training from the menu
- Added mutator: infinite ammo
- Removed weapon hum in instagib mutator
- Can no longer forfeit on racemode
- Added enemy sounds for jump/land etc (thanks Greed)
- Tweaked damage sounds for friendly/enemy players
- Added new keybind mark replay, defaults to M
- Added new loading tip: "Remember to hit 'Mark Replay' in your matchmaking games, you might be famous!",
- Added new loading tip: "Matchmaking replays can be found at replays.reflexarena.com"

Lua changes:
- Log type notification now has subtypes: generic, party, pickup
- Log type chat now has additional subtype: party

Bug fixes:
- Game now clamps cl_playercolor* to safe ranges
- Fixed potential crash bug when matchmaking popup times out & user is disconnected

There will be 4 qualifying rounds.

Qualifying rounds are, winner bracket rounds are BO1, winner bracket semi's and on wards are BO3, loser bracket are all BO1.

First group stage will have 4 groups of 5 players. Final stage will have 12 players.

Group stage's are BO3, all final stage games up to the final are BO5, the final is BO7.

Loser of the coin toss picks or drops first.

For BO1: drop, drop drop drop, drop drop pick.

For BO3: pick pick, drop drop, drop drop pick.

Fair Play:
Participants are expected to play at their full capacity at all times. Deliberately losing will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification.
Conduct:
All participants are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times. Abusive language, excessive swearing, and other forms of disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Admins may remove any player for violation of this rule at their own discretion.
Timeouts:
Each player may call up to two (2) timeouts per map for technical reasons. Players are not allowed to call any timeouts for tactical reasons; doing so may result in a map loss.
Attendance:
All players are to check in on http://challonge.com/ with in the time allotted, this is normally 1 hour before the check in closes, every player is also to join the IRC #gametribecups channel on time as well so that the admin can see you are here and are ready to play and take part in the tournament. Any player who does not check in on challonge or is not on IRC #gametribecups with in the check in time frame will be removed from the tournament and most likely replaced by someone from the previous group or qualifying rounds.

Participation: To participate in this tournament, players are expect to register via challonge, and are required to join the Oceanic AFPS Discord

Map Selection: Flip a coin (callvote random 2h/t). Winner chooses first map. Loser chooses second map. If a third map is required, the loser of the cointoss will drop a map from the reminder of the map pool first, then the winner of the coin toss will drop a map, repeat until there is one map left. The map selection process will be as follows: +pick(winner), +pick(loser), +drop(loser), +drop(winner), +pick.

Map Selection for Grand Finals: For the Grand Finals, which is BO5, players will flip a coin, starting with the winner of the cointoss the map selection process will be as follows: +pick(winner), +pick(loser), +pick(winner) +pick(loser), +drop(loser), +drop(winner), +pick.

Match Start: Player must play their matching within ten (10) minutes of games being assigned.

Match Reporting: After the matches are complete both players are required to submit their results to an admin. Any discrepancies in reported scores will be investigated by admins.

Matches Details: Players must take an end of game screenshot, and a complete demos of all their games. Players can use cg_autoaction 7 to have a demo, and screenshot be automatically recorded by the game. Players must be able to provide demos of their games upon conclusion of the tournament.

Nick: Your nick on sign-up list should be the one you use on Discord, and in-game. No fakenicks allowed!

Behaviour: Be nice to one another. Excessively flaming other players, spectators, casters, admins or referees will lead to disqualification.

Cheating: Any, and all forms of cheating, or assistance will lead to disqualification.

Anything not explicitly covered by the above rules will be up to the volition of the admins.
