I am speaking directly for ESReality, Inc. when I state that censorship is good for gaming? Why is censorship good for gaming? Because it is also good for other things, like removing vulgar language from otherwise acceptable music, it must be good for gaming. Vulgarity is called vulgarity bec

exposing Demiurge (15 comments)
Posted by Cpt_Price @ 21:04 CDT, 4 November 2011 - iMsg
Hi guys this is going to be a very short article. I was wondering how people felt if they were to find out that a particular site admin was a hacker? The admin made some comments in an irc channel a couple of weeks ago about cheating in single-player videogames. Demiurge expressed no concern or s

Individualism (5 comments)

Part of the problem with QL's success, is that so many of us are individualistic. That means, we might prefer being outside of the mainstream. It's difficult to make something a 'business success', when it isn't in the mainstream. Being individuals, naturally, we prefer duel

Of course I never cheated. But that's irrelevant. Because I don't care what people think. And because people will think what they want anyway. What is, however, relevant is what happens objectively, regardless of opinions and thoughts. In a world where every idiot has the right to an opini

A suggestion re: premium maps/servers (3 comments)
Posted by foctis @ 01:24 CDT, 6 October 2011 - iMsg
If all players in the server have premium or pro accounts, premium maps should be votable, regardless of whether or not the server was originally marked 'premium'. Anyone agree, or see any problems with this?

The EuroCup XXIV is about to start! Now a quite a few big names are missing from the signups but the scene is healthy enough to fill the groups (2*6 teams) with good enough and maybe up and coming teams who will produce great and interesting matches. It should be really close between a lot of those

Cheater vs movie maker (33 comments)
Posted by eri @ 08:05 CDT, 27 September 2011 - iMsg
So i've been reading the recent cheating threads. The one that stood out is the zeroql thread for obvious reasons. Zeroql is an odd case, in the sense that he is both a cheater and a revered movie maker. The main question is, should one be able to get praise for the second while having d

Permanent eSports Arena (3 comments)
Posted by G.I. Jonesy @ 04:51 CDT, 21 September 2011 - iMsg
The foundation of the arena is the arcade. The arena should be as large as it can be. Admission is free, as the money comes from people playing arcade games and from companies sponsoring players, as well as money generated through broadcasting competitions. The competitions take place on a stage, wh

eSports Structure (5 comments)

Let's say zenimax was to purchase the MLG, blizzard and capcom. That way, they own QL, SC2, and SSF4 (plus they have a functional competition company). All of the MLG competitions then only feature those three games. Id, blizzard and capcom are redirected to improving their existing eSports tit

Liberalism (10 comments)

What is liberalism? A lot of really dumb right-wingers contend that liberalism is communism. Truth is, the two things couldn't be more different. A liberal communist is an oxymoron. Liberalism is the state of freedom. The very prefix used to form the word, 'liber', means free. It is t

BYOC (No comments)

The greatest detriment to lan tournaments is byoc. If you replaced the byoc area with arcade games, lan tournaments would immediately gain in profit. A lan tournament should consist of three to four things: the tournament (which includes seating), arcade machines (if people are at a gaming tourna
