Australian citizen Frazer "Fraze" Hockley has been living in Europe for the past 3 moths, since the last Dream Hack Winter competition in 2011. Fraze has been staying in the United Kingdom with his girlfriend, and been practicing a little bit of a duel in his time over. As he was known in Australian as a practice fiend he has been living up to reputation playing European duelers such as zsx, madix, GaRpY, k1llsen and strenx, just to name a few.
He has been more then happy with his progress while in Europe and is interested to compete in any big International Quakelive competition soon.
What would you say are the biggest differences from playing Australian opponents to playing European? Map selection? Skill level? Decision making? Aim?
I think the main difference vs your average skilled opponent is they will generally specialize in one map so they will be able to beat u on one map even if they are not the greatest all-round player, which is obviously a good thing so u can learn to work on one map at a time, and try to play that alot vs a certain player. I find in aus, you are either good at most of the maps or good at none and ok at ztn ;P. Having said that i also think Aus is not as far behind Europe as people would have u believe and our top level players are quite good!
