The management of the IEM5 European Championship has decided to add an additional 6 slots to the European Championship group stage. This means that the groups will now have 5 players each rather than 4. The reason for this is to allow those players who had missed their national qualifiers for various reasons to have another chance to qualify. Also all players who have already participated in their national qualifiers or are currently in the regular qualifier rounds are allowed to participate. The ongoing qualifier rounds will not be affected by this and will proceed as planned.

The additional 6 slots will be awarded in 2 separate cups held in mid-October. The top 3 players of each cup will advance directly to the group stage. It is allowed to sign up for both cups.

The 50th ZOTAC QL Duel Cup will be played this Sunday. The cup format still consists of SE brackets using bo1 until the quarter finals. Then the semi-finals will be played as bo3, and the final as bo5.

For this 50th edition, ZOTAC decided to offer a special price to the winner instead of the usual 100�. This time, the top dueler will be rewarded with a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 465 graphics card!

After 4 busy weeks of qualifiers, the playoffs of the ESH Sapphire Euro Challenge will finally start this Saturday at 07:00 CDT. The 16 best duelists from the past few cups will fight to finish in the top3 and a chance to win a bite of the �500. The cup format will consist of a Double Elimination Brackets, while matches will be played as bo3 and bo5 for the Grand Final.

Seeding will be done based on the success of the qualifiers, where guys who won first spot will be top seeded, second spot mid seeded and 3rd spot will be low seeded players. Qualified players and their rankings can be seen below.

The DreamHack Winter 2010 will take place during 25-28th of November 2010. This new edition will feature another Kaspersky Quakelive Championship with a 70 000 SEK prize purse, which is 20 000 SEK better than the previous one! A few details were already released about the tournament.

CB Quake Live 2v2 SC has finished in spite of delays and noshows due to vacations. Generally it was a nice season for anyone who followed it. The highlight of the season was indeed final game where

METSU managed to win vs

4K in a thrilling 3-mapper. METSU was down first map with a massive score difference (dm6), and managed to come back in the next two maps (ztn, t6). Awesome game with match report & demos and VODs already published.
