The first round of the qualification process of the ASUS ENC 2010 is now over. The Qualification Round 2 will start next week and should be played until the 29th of Mach. On the 12 teams, only 6 will qualify for the 3rd and last round!

The winners of QR1 play against the teams in QR2. Then the winners of QR2 meet the teams of QR3. Finally, the winners of QR3 are qualified for the regular season. 6 nations are getting a direct invitation and won't have to get through the qualification process.

Go4SC2 March 2010 Finals (18 comments)

The first monthly final of the esl3 Go4SC2 Series will take place today starting at 10:00 CDT. This single elimination cup will feature the top8 players from the monthly rankings in bo3 matches. The winner will be rewarded with 500€. More details about March's rankings system can be found in this Go4SC2 news.

ESL TV will have a stream running to cover the games, but the commentaries will only be in German. Until the cup starts, you can still grab the replays packs from Go4SC2 Cup #1 and Go4SC2 Cup #2.


The sign-ups for the first two April cups are already open. Don't miss them if you want a chance to get a piece of the April 2010 Final's cash!

ASUS ENC at Gamers Assembly 2010 (38 comments)

This coming weekend, the first offline event of the ASUS European Nations Championship 2010 will take place in France Poitiers, home of the French LAN Gamer Assembly. More exactly, the event will take place at the Futuroscope where the first ESWC events were held. This place is very much loaded with Quake history as the Gamers Assembly used to be a big meeting for French quakers.

For that offline event, 3 show matches with team France France will be organized on CS1.6, CS:S and Quakelive TDM. The following games will be played on Saturday and streamed on ESL TV (schedule is now finalized):

10:30 CDT - cs France France A vs France B France
13:45 CDT - CSS France France vs Belgium Belgium
ASUS will also organize a free gaming area where spectators can come and try some new games (Battlefield Bad Company 2, Metro 2033 and Dawn Of War II Chaos Rising) on their fancy computers and win some raffles.

ASUS ENC 2010 Prize Money Details (64 comments)

Today the esl3 ESL has just announced the details of the prize money for the ASUS European Nations Championship 2010 and its 6 games. The total cash prize for this new season will be 120 000€ and split as following:
- 64 500€ for the prize money
- 55 500€ for the offline events
The first of these offline events will take place this weekend in France Poitiers at the Futuroscope during the Gamers Assembly 2010. More informations should be announced about it soon.

EMS6 QL TDM Qualifier #2 finished (11 comments)

The qualification cup #2 for the EMS6 Quakelive TDM will take place tonight around 13:00 CDT after its check-ins which will start at 12:30 CDT (read more about the check-in system).

A maximum of 16 teams will be able to participate and the cup will use a single brackets and bo1 matches. The rules and map pool remain the same as the last season. The top3 teams will see themselves qualified for the EMS6.


Update: Next Qualifier will be Cup #3 on Sunday, 11th April 13:00 CDT (Sign up)!

Next week we got semifinal matches where favorite France Team France will meet Finland Team Finland and Germany Team Germany will fight with Netherlands Team Netherlands for the spot in the finals of this years QL NC CTF.
Streams will be organized either on Holysh1t, lvl^ or pingaql as usual.

GameSports' next ZOTAC Starcraft 2 Beta Cup takes places next Sunday, 07:00 CDT, 28 March 2010. There's 100 € price money up for grabs and we're currently thinking about doubling the grid size from 512 to 1024 participants thanks to the amazing 662 sign-ups and the full check-in list (512 players!). So for now we're running the usual 1024 slots for sign-ups & 512 for check-ins.


Important Note: Daylight Savings Time in Europe Europe (CEST): Sunday, March 28, 2010: 2:00 AM forward to 3:00 AM. This will probably affect all of our non-European participants, so double-check which time it's actually going to be on when signing up, it might be an hour earlier than you'd expect.

Update (03:00 CDT, 26 March 2010): This week I can proudly announce that the livestream with English commentary will be done by United States of America SC2GG rise (check out some of his youtube commentaries).

The very first SC2 Go4SC2 organized by ESL will be played today and feature 100€ for its winner. It's also the occasion to earn some precious points for the rankings in order to get qualified for the first final which will take place on the 1st April.

ESL Go4SC2 Cup Series with 900€ Monthly (33 comments)

The ESL revived an old Warcraft 3 brand with the Go4 cup series. It was one of the most established cup series in the early days of Warcraft 3 and now it is back for StarCraft II with weekly cups and a monthly final.

Every Saturday will be a cup with 100€ prize money and at the end of the month will be a monthly final with win 500€. The monthly final will be always on Thursday after the last Saturday Cup of a month, so on the last or first Thursday of a month. It will feature the top16 players from the monthly rankings and it will be streamed on ESL TV. There also will be cups on Wednesdays, where you can win points for the monthly ranking, but no prize money.

The first monthly final will be streamed at 13:00 CDT, 1 April 2010 on ESL TV. And the first Go4SC2 cup will start at 08:00 CDT, 27 March 2010, check in will start at 07:40 CDT, 27 March 2010 (Sign up & try to get the 100€).
