The EuroCup Invites (39 comments)
Posted by Ins0mnia @ 13:33 CDT, 14 September 2008 - iMsg
The invites for the 18th season of the ClanBase ClanBase EuroCup has been started. The teams and players that are going to play for this Online cup are slowly getting known. Sadly not via the promised video show. According to ClanBase, the location they are wasn't fully prepared for it and there for ClanBase couldn't do anything else then to stop it and continue via I.R.C. Which is of course a disappointment for anyone.

The invites are now live on #EuroCup (QuakeNet).

"We need to be more imaginative." (34 comments)
Posted by xou @ 12:43 CDT, 14 September 2008 - iMsg
Our favorite Polish e-sport journalist Poland Michal "Carmac" Blicharz once again managed to catch one of the key men behind the ESWC for another interview: France Matthieu Dallon. They discuss subjects such as the Masters events, the last ESWC Finals in USA and the games chosen for ESWC 2009. Here is a short extract:
Have you ever regretted any of ESWC’s game choices?
No. But I regret some games we have not chosen and I really understand the disappointment of some communities, but we cannot work with all the good games. We have to represent families of games, we have to make choices valuable worldwide, we have to favour the most popular titles and we also have personal affinities.
Feel free to read the entire interview on SK-Gaming.com. Also, you can still find the video interview from the ESWC 2007 Finals with the same fascinating individuals on GGL.com

WCG Admin Talks Drug Use in E-Sports (56 comments)
Posted by lolograde @ 08:53 CDT, 28 August 2008 - iMsg
Gameplayer.com.au has an interesting interview with the Australian tournament admin for the WCG on the topic of drug use in E-Sports.

Excerpt,
"In one WCG, a player I knew took amphetamines an hour before his match to boost his reflexes. His team ended up losing the match, although it certainly had an impact - his performance helped his team to win one map out of three - it kind of hits home that only the really talented will come out on top in the end."
The rest of the interview can be viewed here gameplayer.com.
