I got a DeathAdder 2013 for my work and tried to install the driver to configure DPI. It did not work and go into an infinite crash/report loop until I logout.
Here is my exchange with Razer about their awesome drivers. I started it by going to the website, registering and submitting support ticket:
------ Details of Your Request ------
After installing latest version of the driver (1.14), restarting, the "driver" icon loads. After logging in successfully, main window open up. Then it says "Downloading" 0% to 100%. Then I get an OSX error box: "installer quit unexpectedly."
Here is the crash dump:

Here is the exception:
*** uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[IFNetworkDiskObject fileSystemType]: unrecognized selector sent...
This not as advertised. Please fix the issue.

11. Re-install Synapse 2.0 with latest version from our site: http://www.razersupport.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=view
12. Repeat steps 4-10
13. Start using Synapse 2.0 on your Mac!
If the issue still persist, do let us know. Thank you and have a nice day.
My reply:
I have followed the instructions. The issue persists. The Objective C exception has "IFNetworkDiskObject" in it, I'm curious why would filesystem permissions be the issue?
But again, I have followed these instructions and the issue persists exactly the same way. The Synapse 2 loads, downloads driver, the "Installing" indicator goes from 0% to 100%, then it crashes. This is non-stop without any intervention, and I have to try to run the Uninstaller while the error keep popping up and stealing window focus.

My reply:
Hi,
My network doesn't seem to have pocket loss, I am on 1gb ethernet, and it's
pretty good. Something that can be related is that my account is OpenLDAP
and home is nfs automounted.
I installed the Synapse 2.0, restarted, logged in and it immediately
started download/crash cycle. While it was doing that, I went to look at
the 'My Certificates', but there was nothing there. I had to uninstall
Synapse 2.0 after that to stop the re-crashing.
Razer Tier 2 reply:
That is very interesting, then it might be an issue further up the line then. Now, have you upgraded or have you done a clean install of your operating system on your Mac? Please try the below steps, if they do not work, please send a copy of your log files so we can take a look at what is going on. Thank you.
- Log out first from Synapse 2.0.
- Go to /Library/Application Support/Razer/Shared/.rzData
- Delete RzDataStore that is inside .rzData folder if there are any other file inside .rzData folder delete them as well.
- Try to log in back to Synapse 2.0
Mac Log Files:
In order to assist us in troubleshooting, please send us the System and Install logs for the system experiencing the issue. To do this, please follow the instructions below.
1.Go to "Utilities" under the "Go" menu on the top of your screen
2.Open the "Console" utility
3.Locate the system.log file on the left hand side of the window and click on it to highlight it
4.Once highlighted click "File" on the top of the screen and then "Save copy as"
5.Name the file System, and save it to a place where you can easily find it, click "Save"
6.Back in the "Console" window, locate the Install.log file (there may be more than one)left hand side of the window and click on it to highlight it
7.Once highlighted click "File" on the top of the screen and then "Save copy as"
8.Name the file install, and save it to a place where you can easily find it, click "Save"
9.Note: there may be more than one Install.log file. If so please repeat steps 6-8 but add numbers to the end of the file names. IE: Instal1, Install2, Install3, etc...
10. Once all of these files have been saved, place them all in a new folder named your first and last name. IE "John.Smith"
11. When all the files are located within the same folder, hold the control key on your keyboard and then click on the folder and click "Compress 'name of folder'"
12. After the folder has been compressed, reply back to this email with the compressed folder attached.

I reply and send them the logs:
Hi,
I think I did not upgrade or install a clean OS, I think my Mac came
with my current OS.
I tried the thing that you recommended, deleting the RzDataStore. I
think the only difference was that it had to 'slowly' download
something. Once it tried installing it twice, it went on trying to
install it while crashing at the same speed/rate as before.
Attached are the log files you requested.
So, everything seemed to be going fine as they seem to go from dumb copy/pastes to actually thinking about it, but the last reply from the is pretty amazing:
Hey Pavel,
Alright, I reviewed the logs, and it appears that the connection to the update servers drops while Synapse is trying to update. I don't know if you have any security protocols or anything, or maybe it could have something to do with the OpenLDAP you have running. Basically, its trying to download and maybe gets a bit of it, then the connection drops and it has to purge and start over. Is this computer a laptop by chance? The easiest one to eliminate as a cause of the problem is the internet connection, just take it somewhere else and see if the same issue happens. If it doesn't, then you would need to contact your ISP to have your connection looked at. If it does still happen, then I would recommend taking your computer to an apple store or somewhere that works on apples and have them look at it, or possibly reload the operating system to eliminate software issues if you have nothing on the computer of importance.

- So apparently, I need to get support for my computer because their driver is crashing. Amazing. A mouse driver that crashes because of unstable connection, and it's not their fault.
Still trying to contain myself, since its probably more productive:
Hi,
I am on a Comcast Business (more stable than home) internet connection and typically don't have any issues. This is my workstation. It is behind a NAT, however not behind any fancy firewalls that would cut off an established TCP/IP connection. I don't have absolutely any other connectivity issues. OpenLDAP handles permissions, so if those are good, it should not bearing lower level network.
Assuming there is indeed a connectivity issue, if the connection drops, why does the download "meter" reach 100% and the installer crash with an exception? Either a corrupt or interrupted download should be re-tried. If the data is assumed to have downloaded, it should be checked for integrity afterwards. If it gets the data and it is not corrupted, the installer should not crash. Either way, a bad connection is not a justifiable reason for the installer to crash and not work here.
Is there anything you can do short term, such as provide a non connection dependent driver? Maybe the 'RzDataStore' file for DeathAdder 2013 that I can place in the right directory?
Long term, there is obviously a bug and this needs to be better handled in the next version of the driver.
To summarize, the driver crashes and burns with an uncaught exception. This is not an ISP or AppleCare issue, so I'm afraid contacting them will prove futile in my quest to get this great mouse working, so I sincerely hope for further assistance in getting this mouse to work :)
Thank you!
