excuse me I am a long time reader but i just had to make my account to share the observation which i made concerning european and usa players.... http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/8066/rawful.png i congratulate you, america! for you have no life ;) to be on same level you put on 2 to 5 times the play of your european opponents! watch each playtime carefully, it has a story to tell
in Dahang's case majority of the time was spent in ctf however, they played lots of scrims, each scrim minimum 3 matches , 3x20=60 min=1 hour per scrim

You wouldn't if you had nerds flocking around your feet every time you enter a server?
I can understand star players faking if they just wanna play without getting bothered.
you don't know what you're talking about. there's maybe 5 players in NA that COULD alias if they wanted too.
rapha - doesn't alias
dahang - doesn't alias
chance - doesn't alias
dkt - doesn't alias
griffin - doesn't alias (not too sure about this one though)
lost cauze - doesn't alias
please, tell me someone worth mentioning that's aliasing besides you.
having played most of them many times, and having seen them play many times, it's pretty easy to pick out their play style. all these players i mentioned have recently been playing each other quite a bit, so there's really no point in aliasing because everyone knows how each other plays.
you've got to understand.. the NA scene is not nearly as big as the EU scene.
I've played with or watched aliased, mortal1, and bertox, and they're above average, but nowhere near griffin or chance. Besides, isn't mortal1 an alias for "pv"?
Most of the aliases you see are probably for mid-high skilled players, or old school players (czm, zero4, fatal1ty, whatever), or maybe even cheaters.
i've played most of those players, and not one is AMAZING. i thought the argument here was which continent has more top players that alias on a daily basis? at least that's what the post suggests.
He might have a point. Spartie rarely aliases, stermy also. I don't think Av3k aliases either, but I can be wrong on this one. Not everyone in Europe is Cypher or fox.
Exactly, it's a point of view because I was probably away playing Q4 or something at the time while he stayed and got better, therefore it was a surprise to me.
But we are getting off track here. I don't think he is aliasing like before any longer (assuming that he did before here) I remember checking out the matches on his profile (among others) from time to time and the daily play amount was quite consistent.
The whole NA vs EU thing is super serious stuff, I've noticed. In fact, I think I might create an account so I can talk shit about something I don't know anything about!!
the quake players from my continent are better than the players from your continent! this is a big deal. if you disagree you're a patriotic retard, if you agree you're still a retard since you're american!
This is why players lie in interviews, because the common fan is hung up on stats and gives them respect for seemingly playing less yet being at the same level. Whether a player has a greater natural or learned ability is irrelevant at pro level since enough time has passed for both to acquire the same skill learning set. OK, applaud the guy who plays Quake for a month and then challenges at pro level, but thats where the praise should stop, because that same player may never win anything in their life.
To be fair, I've used one alias and I've played a total of about 15 games. The only reason I even made the alias is because stid_ refused to play me on my real name so I had to make a fake one so I could rape his face.
