ye, i know what you mean. problem for me is that there is so much going on purgatory (in comparison to ospdm5) that it is really hard to cover all aspects. if you keep talking about strategies and positioning you might lose focus on whats actually happening i.e. decision making. it would be easier to just run around the map and tell people what and where good positions are to do damage etc. where and how the team should move.

I haven't found time to watch it yet, but seeing as it is 24 minutes long I'm assuming there are no pauses. Maybe that's something you could include, pause at critical moments and talk about the surroundings of the situation, what there is to think about, what's going through your mind at that specific moment, so the viewer doesn't have to be stuck between watching whats going on and listening to your analysis.

Still, nice initiative.

the problem is that I did not edit the video. I can only provide the commentary. My laptop can barely play quake and record my voice. that is the main problem. If i had a proper setup so much more could be done.

Couldn't you do this in cooperation with someone who are able to then? Perhaps Trance?

Basicly what you do is you play a controlled 1v4 game... What I mean by that is that you want to take all items and don't really share weapons.

Another thing... when you know that no enemies are on one side of the map don't jump straight into the other side of the map expecting that theres enemy there either Oo....

Another huge mistake somewhere towards the end is that you 'take control of ra' when you don't have timing on it and don't have good enough weapons. Cuz you just know that the nmy does have time on it and they will be back for it on time with a coordinated push with good weapons. You even delay your spawn to hear when the ra gets picked up, while you can just bet on it that it'll spawn 2.5 secs after you die (1 - 2 sec if you dodge extremely good).

sometimes I think only 2gd, fox, linkje and deus get what tdm is about. And it's not all that hard either :(

But then again I don't know everything that goes on in your ts... maybe you are playing pretty smart as you do get in a lot of good fighting situations all around... it just seems more like a coincidence based on individual good timing rather than a team effort on pushing for an item.

But tbh I haven't seen noctis play tdm in a team.... I've only seen him play tdm in ffa's where the opposing teams were playing full ffa.

but noctis plays in the current highest level of the QL gamtype called team deathmatch, with and against players on your list, if at that level it just plays out as an an FFA as you say, then how much is gained from "understanding tdm" so to speak?

my pc can barely run ql at 125fps m8 (or well it's stable but when I have another program running on the background it often only gets to 110 / 100... dunno any capturing thing that doesn't half your fps...

doesn't really matter if you're using wolfcam tho.

i played around with wolfcam and virtualdub a few days ago to check how much work it would be... tried around for about 2 hours and have no prior experience with either program.

the result is a 10 minute duel demo with sound in avi format at about 90mb. the quality is not so good, but it is watchable. im geussing a bit more work and the quality is actually really good.

i captured the demo using the wolfcam command
'cl_aviFrameRate "30"'
and
'video avins wav name myNewVideo'

which outputs something a few gb large and a wav file. so disc space is the only resource you'll really need. i think it took about 45 minutes for 10 minutes of demo time and was about 5 gb large(the output avi file).

my pc is really bad also: duel core 2GHz, 3GB RAM and radeon mobility graficscard (your setup honestly can't be any worse)

havent watched it yet, dunno if i will but its nice to have these videos for newcomers in tdm or even in quake live.. and good timing before dh

I thought the analysis really got better in the end, maybe because you werent in control. First half was nice but you couldnt comment on a lot of things I guess (got reds, shafts...). You stressed the importance of red and rail which was good. Nice commentary!

Trouble with guides like this is that it's nearly impossible to cover everything that's going on in the split second it takes to happen ingame.

It should help if you can slowmo/pause at key moments in time so you can explain a bit more. Take your teammates positions into account (team overlay) etc.

I don't know if that work would be appreciated by the community though :P

That is the problem. It would actually have been really nice to slow down and take every situation and analyse it in depth. But I have not the ability to do so since I don't have the equipment. Zeroql did the editing and I just provided the voice :( And I recorded the voice over in 20min without pausing.

well being half brit myself and fat , I can tell you that you should avoid the chips and start cooking stuff like soups ( lentil is especially easy ) and grilling stuff and if you can't cook learn everybody fucks up the first few times(or the first 10000).

great effort and good insight!

even though it's a team effort, it must be rather annoying that all it takes is one person's crucial slip up (quad player not lging the bs player on jumpad) to cost a game (not sure if anything else happened to cost the game).

tbh that wasn't really the quadrunners slip up... There's no way the quadrunner could know that the bs was taking the jp up as he was still behind the wall... and even if the BS jumped up.. if he had RL then quad would've lost the fight badly when he got there.

It added to the fact though. He should have used a shaft in that situation and I would have maybe been better off imho. He had enough stack as I recall.

But overall, me included, before the powerup too many of just died at the ra and inbetween. We were not able to get any position on the map, especially rail and rockets etc. So it just went down hill after 2-3min before the game ended and the last pu just sealed it.
